Remember in Independance day where Jeff Goldblum's dad says 'You don't really think they spend $20,000 on a hammer and $30,000 on a toilet seat do you?'

The figures are fudged to hide serious amounts of money and to create anger and further their agenda towards immigrants.

They don't even have soap, water, toothpaste and blankets or beds and it costs $800 a day per person?

Fml!

Yes, John Kerry as SoS pushed for this contract to build/maintain/supply these facilities at the aforementioned cost (775/head/day), then immediately joined board of said company after his tenure.

The real cost being spent: 250/day.

We'll find out later that that company is a subsidiary of the Trump organisation and only spent 2 dollars/person/day. Allegedly.

2 Years in to Nazi Germany? It's probably worse.
Uh, ya think? Massive political purge? The Nazi concentration camps rounded up political enemies (socialists) and homosexuals on almost day 1. Full scale action began in April 1933. First with the entire bureaucratic apparatus of the government being purged of all democrats, communists, socialists, jews, and other "undesirables". On June 30, 1934 we have the Night of the Long Knives, where the Socialists inside the Nazi party were all executed. ~July 1933 is when the Concentration camps kicked off with Socialists, Democrats, Communists, initially they were for political enemies. In 1934 they were extended to control by the SS and "Undesirables" began to be sent there, jews, gypsies, homosexuals, etc. This was later expanded to Slavs, and Soviet POWs.

While it's perfectly fair to call the ICE camps concentration camps, whenever someone says "Nazis" they have no understanding of history, and lose all credibility. While the mechanized wholesale slaughter of prisoners (in the camps) did not begin until 1941, the Nazis were executing political enemies as early as 1933, in an organized legal manner. Legal by their standards thanks to the "Enabling Act of 1933" and another law which allowed summary execution in any camp at any time for any reason, in 1934 I believe that was passed.

I get it, the ICE camps are bad, the country should be ashamed, they should be shut down. They are not, however, in any way shape or form equivalent to what happened in Nazi Germany as early as 1933. To draw that parallel is the height of silliness. If we were dealing with actual Nazi level concentration camps, the people complaining the loudest in the media, would all be dead right now.

Another series of ICE raids planned this weekend in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Houston, LA, Miami, NYC, and San Fran. Immigrants can see their rights on the ACLU website.

I have been in an ICE facility, though I was more welcome than AOC. Probably the most challenging experience of my life all the same

Surely you can see the difference between assassinating your political opponents and rounding up and impounding people who you find undesirable. It's not the treatment of other party members that I was referring to but how both governments treated the people that they didn't want in their country.

In the case of the Nazi party Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, Soviets and Homosexuals among others. In regard to Trump's government Illegal Immigrants.

Many countries throughout history executed political opponents that used to be quite normal in previous centuries. It's not okay but it happened. It doesn't make Nazi Germany stand out as the monsters they were though. That came later.

I have no problem with arresting and detaining people who come into your country illegally until they can be tried but make their detainment humane and get a boatload of judges to expedite their cases.

People being caged with not enough room to sleep and no hygiene or sanitation is inhumane. To say that it is on a par with how the Nazi's treated their undesirables before they started to kill them in the 1940's is a position that can be argued. I know that it might be a stretch, mainly because we don't know the worst of what is happening in these camps.

Even if it isn't true, 'America at least we're as bad as Nazi Germany' is surely not the advert that you want for your country.

America has some of the harshest and roughest prisons in the world, it's just the way it is. Detention centers are probably a step down, and possibly inhumane - but the Nazi comparisons are completely out of whack.
