not sure, @BlabyFox brought that up as a possibility so maybe he knows
I did not mention Woodward pal, I was alluding to the press/media making up bs stories for click bait, it's been a relentness tirade of baseless guff.
This has led to our hierachy contemplating not dealing with certain people, they are very strong re principles and as you mentioned they point blank refuse to d/w Brady and the dildo brothers.

You’re wittering on as though this press coverage is exclusive to the fact it’s a Leicester player being talked about.

Spare a thought for us United fans, who have to put up with this shit reporting on a daily basis.

We get linked to players who there is clearly no interest in, just because people lap it up.

He said Leicester wouldn't sell due to the economic power of EPL sides and Maguire wouldn't want to come!
We were arrogant for thinking he would even want a move.
He couldnt have been more wrong thus far.
Seems he wants to come and Leicester wont stand on his way if we can agree a price..
If you are going to put forward a case , it would be nice if you backed it up with hard facts.
Please show me any single direct quote where Harry has stated he wants to go to you.
The stance from our owners has been we dont want to sell, set a price accordingly, and will not discuss until our price is met.
They have not nor will not deviate from this, saw a paper headline on the news this morning, United getting tough with Leicester....good luck with that!
All I can see is us saying we're not selling unless you pay OUR fee and sharpish.

Welcome to being a high profile premier league team mate!
You must have had all this before with Kante, Vardy and Mahrez, so not sure why Maguire to us seems to get your guys asses flapping so much?
Is it because it's us and you think you can overtake us?
There weren't floods of Leicester fans moaning at the other three player scenarios and you were champions after two of the stories/links.

Totally get that, its true, you get linked to way more than we (Leicester) do., but its just a really sh*t thing isn't it?
Soon as Harry goes (I think he will) Leicester will endsure the "Dunk on his 3rd medical at Leicester...." ad infinitum.
(And you still get to watch "Bruno! PogXit ! Back to Bruno! Milenkovic! SMS!" - sheesh :houllier: )

Maybe the media (in its many nefarious forms) could use the summer football outage to publish in-depth tactical evaluations of the season just past, instead of lazily linking players to clubs to pass the time/earn unwarranted cash.#

Cheers (Now sod off and leave Harry alone :) )

Probably from that forum where their fans call us "Man Spew". :houllier:
Sorry, have to ask - which forum are you seeing this sort of tosh on?
There is a general disdain from most posters on FT who post such childish cack, even such classics as Arsenhole, Wet Spam are universally ridiculed.

Someone shared a link to it in the previous page. I went through some threads about Maguire and we were called "peasants", "Man Utd(without the td, which is seen as offensive to our club, the forum doesn't even allow me to spell it and automatically changes it to Man Utd )", "totally past-it club" and other colourful phrases.

Football Fans - bottom feeders, each and every one.
To be fair, you guys are so lazy, you don`t even have a derisive nickname for Leicester, you know them? That "little" club, that doesn't know its place in the pecking order? :)

Assuming that the deal goes through I wonder what the final fee for this lad would be. I also have doubts about his ability to remarkably improve our defense but i'd love to be proven wrong.

The player himself will push for it, and we have already seen the signs for it.

 Taste my salty tears. Not at all - think he will go, be a shame if it goes all "Mahrez", but whatever. Club first.
I can’t see that happening, particularly the way he’s been carrying on training and even playing in your warm up games, seems to be committed to whichever outcome pans out

Where did all these Leicester fans come from
Leicester is a real place. They're not a club named after a culture of cheese manufacturing as many people assume, the giveaway is that they play in blue and not red. Leicester is one of those places that no one knows exactly where it is but it is definitely somewhere in England I can assure you.

Would you leave Maguire there and go for a cheaper option ( Like Milenkovic) or stick with what we have, and spend the money on cover in front of the back 4. We need a DM and an energetic box to box midfielder.

Maguire is absolutely a 'known' quantity. We / Ole know what we are getting. He's worth the money in today's market in some respects. McT will become the screen for our defence, if not at the start of the season he will by the end of it. If, as reports are suggesting, McT will be behind SMS and Bruno, and Maguire will be alongside Lindelof, that's a pretty good spine we'd have.

It is if we get these players, but I very much doubt it.

We will not sign Harry Maguire and here's why...

Not sure if we put in a bid last season but Leicester wanted 70 million for him, which Woodward thought wasn't a good investment.

Now this year he is 1 year older (26) and Leicester want 80-90million for him!

So now it would be an even worse investment because he is a year older and probably only has 1 big transfer left in him, therefore if we sign him for 80 million and he signs a 4 year contract, by the time that is up he'll be 30 and worth only half that.

The club simply won't re-coup the money for him. They see buying players business investments, so they need to see some form of return on their investment.
He doesn't come with a huge commercial value either, i.e he won't bring lucrative sponsorship deals/image rights etc with him and he's not going to be a huge shirt seller.

Think what this would also mean for future transfers, it'll just drive up the cost for other players. Other clubs will say if Harry Maguire is worth 80 million then our player is worth the same or more! Woodward is a clever businessman despite his inept behavior in the transfer marker and will be aware of this.

The ONLY way we could get him is if he hands in a transfer request close to deadline day and Leicester/Utd manage to agree a lower fee close to the 70million offered off the back of this.
This is how small clubs operate.

A big club shouldn't be worried about recouping money from players as they make the money they need elsewhere.

If we want to compete to be the best we have to splash the cash and stop worrying about how much x and y will be worth in 3-4 years.

You make it sound like the only reason to buy a player is to sell them on, forgetting all about the football he'll play for us in the meantime arguably improving our squad to boot.
