Have faithAt this point in time I would just pay them what they want as well but can't see that happening and don't think we will sign him.

He only 25 and injuries happen to footballers all the time. Probably suffered that knee injury also due to the long World Cup. They just won the World Cup and after winning the holy grail, your performance and motivation is bound to go down as well. People don’t realise playing so many games and after winning a major tournament can take a toll on a player. He will be fine. I’d rather pay a couple millions more for a world class defender. I don’t rate Maguire at all and I would be pleased if we don’t get him. I thought we had a chance to get Varane maybe not anymore since Zidane is back. There’s also Koulibaly, I know he’s 28 and slightly older but in spite of what people thinks almost 30 is old for an outfield footballer, I always thought a defender’s prime is in his late 20s to early 30s.We will need about 10m to cover umtiti in cotton wool and give him robotic legs
Varane is going to go for 150m if maguire is rated at 80m, plus why in hells name would he leave.
I don't think either of those options are in Leicesters interest. They need to replace him.I think Leicester are just calling United's bluff and will accept an offer on deadline day if it goes that long. On the other hand, if it fails to happen, I doubt Maguire is the type of player to go on strike or throw a fit. He'll be irritated but play on and maybe be sold for more in the next window depending on his performances.
I have hope which is a word I seem to have used more times around here lately that ever in my life.Have faith
Sorry but I think Umtiti's injury is long term and has been present for years? I am sure I've read that in multiple places. He only 25 and injuries happen to footballers all the time. Leicester have come out and said they want time time get a replacement, unless they have potential replacement lined up ready to transfer quick time. I can't see this going through next week.I think Leicester are just calling United's bluff and will accept an offer on deadline day if it goes that long. You have to think they've already got a replacement in sight. This has been rumbling on all summer so far and they should have something in place ... you'd have thought anyway.Leicester have come out and said they want time time get a replacement, unless they have potential replacement lined up ready to transfer quick time. Umtiti has had 6 injuries in 3 years at Barca. Missing 44 games and being out 229 days. The last 2 of those injuries which happened last season were knee injuries, so I am concerned this could become a regular thing we his knees. Are his knees going to be able to withstand the physicality of the Premiership should we happen to sign him?Sorry but I think Umtiti's injury is long term and has been present for years? I am sure I've read that in multiple places.
Precisely. I'm sure Varane would love to leave Real Madrid for Utd, and play in the Europa league for a club that's won nothing worthwhile for six seasons over the world's biggest club who have won 4 CL's in the same period. I'm also fully confident Real would be happy to sell their best defender to us. Make it happen, Woody!Precisely. If we are going to pay £90m for Harry Maguire, why don’t we just stump up the fee another £5m to £10m more for actual world class defenders like Umtiti or Varane? Maybe we don’t even have to pay that much. Everyone has a price and I’m sure Barca or Real would seriously consider if a serious bid comes in.
It would be the sensible thing to have a replacement ready given how long this pursuit has taken, unless they put such a stupid price on that they thought no-one would pay and have no intention of selling him.You have to think they've already got a replacement in sight. This has been rumbling on all summer so far and they should have something in place ... you'd have thought anyway.
I tell you what on a slightly different note ... I'd completely forgotten how annoying I find Brendan Rogers. I bet he's loving all of this, Brendan, back in the big time! May be just me but ...
Koulibaly early in the window was quoted at 125m, plus no guarantee he wants us.He only 25 and injuries happen to footballers all the time. Probably suffered that knee injury also due to the long World Cup. They just won the World Cup and after winning the holy grail, your performance and motivation is bound to go down as well. Would take option 2 straight away as I wanted him instead anywayTrouble is our other options really are
1) nobody
2) diop for around 65m
3) name any other decent potential for 50m aka Tah, Konate etc
4) nobody
I'm sure I've read he's has serious cartillage issues for a long time and he had a bad surgury so refuses to have another one. Can't remember if that was here or elsewhere.Umtiti has had 6 injuries in 3 years at Barca. Missing 44 games and being out 229 days. You may be right although I'm not sure of that so I can't say. Although I like the player and think if he's fit and on form he would be great here. There is a big risk paying such a huge fee and we will probably offer him extremely healthy wages and a decent length contract for a player with injury problems in area that significantly needs upgrading. We could end up in a similar situation as the Phil Jones albeit stuck with another injury prone player, who is on an higher wage and who cost a much higher fee. Think we should be very cautious with this potential signingI'm sure I've read he's has serious cartillage issues for a long time and he had a bad surgury so refuses to have another one. Yeah and Tah from Leverkusen. Not only is he very good on the ball he has great physique aswell. In my view he would fit Ole’s system perfectly and would be cheaper than Maguire. There are options. Milinkovic, Dias etc.
If this is true then imagine what they’d demand for Madison or if he lives up to expectations, Tielemans in a few years? They now want 90 million ffs. SSN transfers
Milinkovic has just signed a new contract. There are options. Milinkovic, Dias etc.
The last thing we need is another crock. No to umtiti!
No surprise there. Each day closer to the deadline day, the price goes up.They now want 90 million ffs. SSN transfers
he is one year younger than Maguire. you make it sound like he's nearing 30. If he can get past his knee issues or we rotate him, it'd be a quality signing for half the price.Surely after seeing the decline of Matic and Sanchez, no one should be even contemplating Untiti. No way! Wrong age and with already dodgy knees ... and he'd be really expensive.
I meant if he was 20 or something with one injury then maybe, but mid 20's and multiple knee injuries ... just no! walk away and let someone else take that risk. We need a few 'sure things'.he is one year younger than Maguire. you make it sound like he's nearing 30. If he can get past his knee issues or we rotate him, it'd be a quality signing for half the price.
Who would you prefer us to go for if we don't get Maguire? There are options. Milinkovic, Dias etc.
Why would they talk about Euros?? No, if £80m was the asking price a couple of weeks ago, of course its going to increase as we approach the deadlineWhere does 90m pounds come from? Maybe they are talking about 90m euros?
That’s what press does every day. They report “Bruno may join for 62m pounds”, in 2 minutes another journalist reports “Bruno is set to join for 70m euro”, and then the third one says “70m pounds fee for Bruno agreed”Why would they talk about Euros?? Yes but that transfer is between a Portuguese club (who use Euros) and an English club (who is Pounds Sterling) so depending on what side they're getting info from will determine the currency they use in the report. That’s what press does every day. Transfer will not. But if you report a higher number (90) you may generate more clicks.A transfer between 2 English clubs is not going to use Euros.

Unless we have an alternative (which if we did is the best kept secret this summer) then I dont know why we'd put a deadline on it?Tweet

I know it's talksport but Geoff Peters who also works for them is apparently reliable, at least that's what i saw in Leicester forum and Geoff Peters also posts there.
Seen a bit of Dias and I like him.Who would you prefer us to go for if we don't get Maguire?
Barcelona seem to accept that it's a serious problem otherwise there would be absolutely no chance of him being available, and certainly not for the figures that I've read this week.Sorry but I think Umtiti's injury is long term and has been present for years? I am sure I've read that in multiple places.
