Koepfer's serve stopped being effective and Medvedev won the next 2 sets. He's still doing enough damage on the Medvedev serve but just can't hold himself.

He's trying to keep points short and playing some really stupid drop shots. He's also serving slower than earlier in the tournament. That shoulder is definitely affecting him imo.Novak is feeling out of sorts today
He's going to easily go down to Federer yet again.Wawrika can blow away anybody when he's on fire. If he beats Djokovic, could be a strong bet for the whole thing.
That’s if he beats Medvedev. He's going to easily go down to Federer yet again.
I think he will. Medvedev hasn't been that sharp himself. If Koepfer served better he'd have definitely taken him to 5 sets at the very least. That’s if he beats Medvedev.
Djokovic retires.
If Federer makes it that far. And he looked rough in his first couple of games as well. Nothing can be assumed. He's going to easily go down to Federer yet again.
38 year old player gets cakewalk draw whose path included the world number one.Federer's cakewalk draw gets even easier now with Djokovic out.
Nadal, if he makes the final, isn't going to beat Federer. Federer has just become the far superior player now in their H2Hs outside of clay.If Federer makes it that far. And he looked rough in his first couple of games as well. Nothing can be assumed.
Isn't Nadal's draw piss easy?
Djokovic seemed extremely pissed with the crowd at the end and rightly so.Djokovic would have won the tournament if he was fit. Him retiring is something he wouldn’t take lightly so the crowd to boo him was stupid. He wouldn’t do it if he was in real pain and you could see his game wasn’t right.
I think they should give Indian Wells the grand slam...
There's no guarantee he'd beat Wawrinka let alone win the tournament.Djokovic would have won the tournament if he was fit. Him retiring is something he wouldn’t take lightly so the crowd to boo him was stupid. He wouldn’t do it if he was in real pain and you could see his game wasn’t right.

R1 : Nagal38 year old player gets cakewalk draw whose path included the world number one.
These are standard early round opponents.R1 : Nagal
R2 : Dzumhur
R3 : Evans
R4 : Goffin
QF : Dimitrov
This is without any major seeds or threats even crashing out of his draw. Only Kei lost and he's about as difficult an opponent for the Big 3 as Dimitrov
So yeah, like it's been said since the draw came out, he's got an absolute walkover to the semis here and now with even Novak gone, it opens up even more.
No guarantee for who? There's no guarantee he'd beat Wawrinka let alone win the tournament.
Djokovic.No guarantee for who?
Djokovic half injured today lost 6-4 and 7-5. It’s clear injury was hampering his play. He wasn’t thrashed he just couldn’t play the point he wanted to.
Well it clearly hampered him because he was trying to shorten every point which is not what Djokovic usually does and he was making more unforced errors than Stan of all people who win/lose you expect to make more unforced errors against Djokovic. Never seen a set where Djokovic has made 17 unforced errors like he did in the second set.Djokovic.
Wawrika was on fire today. He may have still won and we don't know much Djokoviv's shoulder hampered him in the first set and and a half.
Point is there are no guarantees of winning at the highest level. If he was not injured, this would still be a competition with fine margins of victory/defeat. Of course I agree that the crowd should not boo - whether you are a big contender for the title, or not.
Despite being hampered by the shoulder, it was a pretty close match. It was obvious all match Djokovic was serving slower than usual, trying to cut down points as much as possible. A fully fit Djokovic doesn't play the way he did today. He served and volleyed down BP on the back of a slow second serve! He was that off his usual game.Djokovic.

Rafa had Millman (Federer's conqueror of last year) in R1 and then Cilic/Isner and Khachanov (who really should have beaten Rafa last year) before the semis. Novak had Stan and Medvedev before the SFs. It is possible to get challenging opponents on your way to the SF.These are standard early round opponents.
It's just typical behavior from American crowds and you see this every year. Djokovic must be absolutely fuming with that treatment.I can understand booing Medvedev but Djoko looked obviously unfit.
