Fair play to the members of public that subdued the attacker, incredible bravery. Also to the police officer that acted decisively when faced with a possible bomb situation. RIP to the two murdered.

2 people killed and the main theme is if the guy threw away a hankie or coke.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Why would he throw a hanky on the floor? Doesn't make sense.

There's 567,445 doses of cocaine snorted every day in London and it's a Friday afternoon - definitely wouldn't be surprised if it was his evening stash
Not sure what it was but apparently he was the guy who disarmed him.

News reports say he was on the other side of the road when saw disturbance and ran across the road through traffic and ended up getting the knife off him.

Three people were stabbed in Den Haag this evening too, maybe a copycat attack. Right around the corner from where I live and I was in the area about an hour or so before it happened. Scary shit.

Seems like he was known to the police, just like the other knob responsible for Borough Market.

A lot to take in from this is incident.

Personally, I've never seen a terrorist attack with so much camera phone footage. Within half an hour, we were able to see exactly what happened from multiple angles without CCTV.

All the videos start roughly at the same time and stop roughly at the same time.

Im not calling conspiracy, I don't think that at all, but I find this astonishing.

It's easy to edit videos* on the fly now so it wouldn't surprise me if a couple of the ones we have have been chopped to only have the "moment" in them.

*I obviously just mean edit the length of them

I’ve not read the article but I can’t understand how anybody who has been in prison for, I assume, terrorist offences is allowed to stay in this country. They should be deported, or if they’re British, kept in prison for the rest of they’re lives. These people are absolute scum and will never contribute to society at all And because this man was released 2 innocent people have been killed.

Seemed to all coincide with him being contained so a lot of people presumably felt it was safe, so they recorded.

I certainly wouldn't be recording if I was fearing for my life, but once it looks like the situation is under control then I see why you'd want to record the evidence.

Too much assumption here. Don't see how you can get to this opinion until knowing why exactly he was tag.

And tbh, if he was on tag i would assume he wasn't arrested for terror offences, but again, we don't know yet.

Ok maybe I have assumed too much but what I said still stands. If he or anyone is arrested on terrorism charges and is at one point in his life a known terrorist then he should never see the light of day again. My views are the sane when it comes to the death penalty. If this scum hadn't been killed by the policeman then he should’ve 100% been put to death.

Its nothing out of the ordinary when you consider that everyone has a camera and video processing at their fingertips. Also those social media accounts that would get the most traction with the shares could and probably would edit the posted video to relevant length.

The guy throwing away the bag of coke was obviously on a high, that’s why he attacked a knife wielding terrorist. God bless the coke!

Not sure if this has been mentioned already (I'm in the pub)
But a man took a 5 foot NARWAL tusk off the wall in the Fish market and used it to attempt to hold the attacker down....

It's confirmed he was convicted of terrorism offences.

Jailed for terrorism offences in 2012, the Met said.
He was part of the Stock Exchange plot which was disrupted by MI5 and the police.
He is also understood to have been a supporter of al-Muhijaroun, the extremist group which scores of terrorists were involved with, according to the anti-extremism group Hope Not Hate.

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
I was only there a few days ago. Damn.

Not sure how I'd react but I hope I'd try to help.
Having read more of this, the odds of me seeing a knife attack by a bloke in a suicide vest and saying "someone get me a fire extinguisher or a Narwhal horn, I've got this" are on the low side.

 Well said. Tbf most of us would run the other way. Only the very well trained or very brave (in real life, not on a keyboard) would do otherwise.

Or if you happen to be high on coke as was the case of the guy holding the knife and dumping his stash :keano:

I'm glad they killed him. God knows how much money it would have cost to keep him locked up for the next fifty years.

Is this a running joke now? There's absolutely no way that was a bag of coke unless he's secretly Pablo Escobar.

Definitely some serious fight or flight going on. Not sure what I would do. Like to think I would help, would probably run in the opposite direction screaming my lungs off.

I'd probably stand still and have absolutely no clue what was going on. Followed by a nice long pants shitting.

I completely echo this view. And I too am extremely proud of those who acted so bravely and forced the pathetic attacker to the ground. Well done to you and London showed that it will not tolerate such extremists and their attempts kill innocent people.
However, the Probation Service has a lot to answer for.

Radicalisation seems to be a big problem everywhere. The government should do more to integrate minorities.

Is it true that those that stopped him were also ex-cons at the same conference he was at? And one was also a murderer on day release but his victims family didn't know?

If so, that's hilarious how DM commenters are saying we need to be harsher on punishments but give these people honours
