We all thought the same so nothing to be ashamed of.Me too mate. I remember posting on here not long after he signed, that a midfield of Schweinsteiger, Sneiderlin and Herrera was the best in the premier league
At first maybe but to explain his current performances ? He isn't a baby, he should be playing much better than he is.I fully blame Lvg for him, he totally destroyed his game, ripped it up and destroyed his confidence. Now he struggles ever since. I feel sorry for him, he was at a good level of performance at Southampton, that’s why we were excited to sign him. He looks a dead man walking now and that’s all on Lvg
I don’t disagree that he should be back to normal now but I think it’s unfair to say it’s his attitude. At first maybe but to explain his current performances ? He isn't a baby, he should be playing much better than he is.
It has to be in some way. He seems like he is scared or something.I don’t disagree that he should be back to normal now but I think it’s unfair to say it’s his attitude.
But saying he doesn’t give a shit?It has to be in some way. He seems like he is scared or something.
I don't believe it either. They are pros, they care at some level, if it's not about the club then it is definitely about how they're seen on the pitchBut saying he doesn’t give a shit?
Booing a player who's low on confidence isn't the way to get better performances, in fact it's the exact opposite. Coming on for 10 minutes in a game Everton were dominating and up by 3 was the perfect time to build his confidence and get better performances, no chance of that now.He gets paid a shit load and it appears he doesn’t even try anymore.
that basically sums up our scouting and recruitment post Fergie. That’s supposedly a former international player in his prime. He’s obviously very mentally weak and you couldn’t argue that way too many of our signings have lacked the required mentality to excel here.Tweet

Did we really get £20m+ for this coward?
Just shows how a good coach can get the best out of players.Just one of the many, many players Pochettino got playing way above their level.
Yep, but we should all know that anyway considering the amount of player Sir Alex got playing above their level to win countless titles and cups!Just shows how a good coach can get the best out of players.
Grealish at least has a lot more about him.A cautionary tale for those clamouring for Maddison or Grealish. They are similarly placed in their careers as Morgan was when he moved. What guarantees that they will not follow similar trajectory?
Or they could follow the trajectories of players like Carrick or Lampard. Every signing is a gamble, of course, but I wouldn't see anything about that deal that would make me any more nervous about Maddison or Grealish.A cautionary tale for those clamouring for Maddison or Grealish. They are so ahead of MS it’s laughable reallyOr they could follow the trajectories of players like Carrick or Lampard. Every signing is a gamble, of course, but I wouldn't see anything about that deal that would make me any more nervous about Maddison or Grealish.
They are so far ahead of whom? Morgan had several virtuoso performances in his 100 odd appearances prior to joining us. He was no Makelele but we knew what we were getting. He then got found out terribly. They are so ahead of MS it’s laughable really
Robertson - Around 50 PL gamesThey are so far ahead of whom? Morgan had several virtuoso performances in his 100 odd appearances prior to joining us. He was no Makelele but we knew what we were getting. He then got found out terribly.
Maddison has played just 60 odd games in the PL and Grealish about the same. Is that enough to judge a player will be fit for the cauldron of OT?
@GBBQ
And BT dub, Carrick had 175 PL games before he moved to United and Lampard had 150 odd under his belt before his move to Chelsea. So they were not exactly gambles.
He looked so good at Soton. I really wanted him here. Jesus how wrong was I.
I agree that number of games played may not be the definitive criteria for success but it's a risk mitigation criteria for sure. You have given the example of five players who developed drastically due to being in one of the best coaching systems in the world. I hope you do agree that Klopp has extracted so much more from his players than any other manager of late.Robertson - Around 50 PL games
Van Dijk - 57 PL games
Wijnaldum - 38 PL games
Henderson - 71 PL games
Mane - 67 PL games
Toby - 26 PL games
Then you have players like Fellaini who played more than 150 PL games before signing for us. There are players who fails to step up and then there are players who improves their game playing for big club.
We can go with Aguero example and say strikers from La Liga are awesome or go with Soldado example and say La Liga strikers are shit.
Just one of the many, many players Pochettino got playing way above their level.
Except his last 2 seasons at Southampton he wasn't coached by Pochettino and he was playing better than he did in his last season with Pochettino.Just shows how a good coach can get the best out of players.
I gave those examples as they were recent ones, there will be plenty of players who played less than 100 league games before moving to PL club.My last post for the day due to the limit...

Regarding Fellaini, Everton had used him successfully as a battering ram and a nasty cnut when required. We tried to use him as a proper midfielder. Which he never was.
Aguero is a generational talent. I cannot compare his success with others. Soldado's qualities were never utilized due to system played by Tottenham. He was a box player not a guy capable of being the lone forward.
I never said Grealish or Maddison are destined to fail. I said we should be cautious, not so exuberant that either of these or both will solve our problems overnight.
So.. The french Diego Tristán, I guessSchneiderlin was one of those players who was in the right team at the right time, with Southampton. Average player outside of that specific team.
Indeed, but he was already on the up when Poch arrived there. He was impressive (and scored) against us in a cracking game soon after they were promoted.Just one of the many, many players Pochettino got playing way above their level.
Last two? Didn't Poch join Spurs in 14/15 and Schneiderlin join us in 15/16?Except his last 2 seasons at Southampton he wasn't coached by Pochettino and he was playing better than he did in his last season with Pochettino.
The one where RvP scored a hattrick? That's all I remember from that game!Indeed, but he was already on the up when Poch arrived there. He was impressive (and scored) against us in a cracking game soon after they were promoted.
That’s the one. Two of the goals right at the end. Soton were still managed by Adkins and were playing some lovely stuff. It wasn’t xenophobia alone that made people up in arms when he was sacked.Last two? Didn't Poch join Spurs in 14/15 and Schneiderlin join us in 15/16?
I don't remember his form outside of Pochettino, though. Pochettino's Southampton team were one of my favourite teams to watch. He got everyone playing above their level and turned them into a pressing machine.
It's why I wanted him here as early as 2013 as Fergie's replacement.

I was never sure about Sanchez, but I was positive Schneirderlin was exactly what we needed. In a summer with all those galactico names he was the one I really thought would elevate us..Me as well, pal.
It wasn’t the first or last time, though. Prospective signings get us all giddy and then a Birtles, Schneiderlin or Sanchez land on us.
