So instead of properly developing him in his best favorite let's put him on the flanks instead because of a terrible striker like Ighalo getting the sub position instead. Great job.
So rather than starting games on the right you'd prefer Greenwood to be a impact sub through the middle?

And you were arguing about Greenwood not getting minutes?

He's coming from Shanghai, not Wuhan. Unless every Chinese traveler is being quarantined, I doubt they are going to put him in an isolation chamber for two weeks.
Actually every Chinese traveler is currently being quarantined with 2 weeks at home or something like that. Many countries do that as of now.

Worth noting our last loan move was a "huge name" in Falcao... And he was absolute gash.
That was a more stupid loan. Not what we needed and also had been injured.
LVG tried to build a 3-5-2 formation with slow attackers and poor balance and played Di Maria in strange roles.

The AFCON is B level stuff, you're trying so hard to make this sound like it's not barrel scraping at it's worst, if we'd actually wanted this bum we'd have gotten him when the window opened as clearly he's so valued by his club they are loaning him to us with 24 hours notice, but no, he scores a few International goals in African football and yee haw lets all get on board, like I said, until fans stop acceptin this kind of thing we'll continue to spiral.
So presumably Salah, Zaha and Mahrez must have smashed this B level comp then? No way they were outscored by this 'trashbag' 'bum' that you wanted to sign a couple of years ago before your agenda got in the way. Not now he's gone to China though, the dark void surrounding it has sucked out all his talent!

Is he going to set the world alight? Course not. Is he a decent short term option? Of course. You're so entangled in showing everyone how much you hate how the club is run you are prepared to contradict your own opinion of a player. That's pretty desperate!

Not sure he was ever getting a shot this season so not worth worrying about. So long as hes getting minutes thats good enough for his 1st season.

China is a dead end league for bums who have no ambition and just want to fill their pockets, the standard is nowhere near the PL, it's not even MLS level. I made that post 4 years ago, people acting like players don't regress over that period of time is crazy.
For top players with no ambition. They dont just sign anyone.

I liked him at Watford. Not the worst outcome considering who we've been linked with last couple of days.

If you say so, man. Recent reports also say there's an option to buy in the Ighalo deal so that blows that apart.
The option to buy is an incentive to the player. "If you play out of your skin you might get a contract".

Ravel Morrison must be the must sold player that never plays

Ighalo scored what, 5 goals? Did you see them? I just watched them. Absolutely nothing to get excited about.
God forbid he comes here scores plenty of unexciting goals.

Well, he's an experienced player at the wrong end of his career who's unexpectedly been offered the chance to play at his dream club. I suspect he'll give it his all for us.

How is the Larsson loan in any way relevant to this discusdion?
People just like to give examples from Fergie days for pretty much every current situation to prove the club is currently doing alright or something.

I'm pissing myself laughing at people being annoyed at us having an option to buy as part of the deal. Why on earth are people mad about that aspect?! If he's good we sign him, if he's not, we don't, its not complex.

Goals are goals. If it translates to points on the table we can't really complain at this point. Top four is still up for grabs.

I think it's more of an incentive for him anyway. Definitely nothing to get annoyed about.

I too hate it when strikers score unexciting goals. Whats the point of them? Ew a tap in merchant! Someone who gets on the ends of crosses?! Disgusting. A striker who is in the box?! Revolting.

Keep in mind that he had a good season in 15/16, and then in 16/17 scored 1 goal in 18 appearances.

We all have issues with Woodward and the truth is at this time last week, the anger would have been justified. People seem to be unable to differentiate his past mistakes with some of his current investments. This signing would be very useful to us, as not only does Martial need a back up, he also needs the competition. Since 2015, when Van Persie left, we have not had a legitimate back up striker. When you add that to the dearth of quality we have had at no.10 and the lack of a right winger since Nani left, it is little surprise that we have scored few goals during this period. The lack of quality in attack within our starting xi also made people forget that we do not have an useful depth in those positions either. The difference between Tottenham and United over these last 4 years has been depth in my opinion. Ighalo is a premier league striker who can bang in goals and would cost us little in terms of financial attachment. Even if we signed him permanently ( on low wages of course), we would be in a far stronger position than we have been in attack over the last few years.

In addition to this, Martial needs the competition. He has proven to be too inconsistent over the years to trust him with leading the line of this team alone. A guy like Ighalo can help supplement our attack when Martial is not on his game or needs a rest. Mourinho at both chelsea, madrid and even inter to an extent used backups to supplement the lack of goals from his main strikers and it proved effective. Martial may not even need to be a 25 goal a season striker if he had a back up that can give us 12 a season.
There are also more positions that need attention such as centre midfield and our right flank. Signing a cheap back up that can supplement Martial can give us the time to evaluate the quality of Martial in the striker role and allow us to spend our Pogba money on positions that are in more urgent need of strengthening.

This is why Ruud was such a failure here. I can't remember a single overhead kick from outside the box, not one.

There are many reasons to get pissed but this loan signing is not one of them. Good that we got a decent striker for much needed cover. We can buy a proper one in the summer
