This greedfall has appeared out of nowhere hasn't it? Hadn't heard of it till a week or 2 ago but looks interesting.

Same as remnant from the ashes, that has just turned up too with no warning but looks decen
I remember seeing trailers at E3 and thinking it looked interesting. Then more footage came out and it was either going to be good or a complete disaster by the looks of it. It wasn't getting much mainstream coverage for months. The hype started building over the last few weeks. Even up until release I was on the fence about it, then my mate got it and said he was enjoying it so I took the plunge and have been very pleasantly surprised.

Only one bug in 22 hours too, which I fixed by murdering someone. The difference between the state it released in and the state Gears 5 released in you'd think Gears was the game from the smaller studio.

Did anyone else finish Gears 5? I thought it was pretty good, but not the home run it could have been. I thought the open-world parts were a swing and a miss. The shooting mechanics are good though!

FIFA, modern warfare, ghost recon, greedfall, remnant from the ashes. Quite a few games to keep me going over the next couple months.

Nintendo have fully embraced mobile monetisation.

Latest game: Mario Kart Tour

Features:
  • Gacha
  • No Multiplayer
  • Gold pass option (more expensive than NSO with 200cc locked behind it)

Got it, great fun, but very short. Though after you finish it they add a stack of extra tasks for you to try.
I took the plunge. Great fun and probably about the right length to keep it amusing before the novelty wore off.

Can't believe this but I got totally hooked into Dragon Quest XI. I played the first 2 hours or so on its release and felt it was boring, but now I can't stop playing whenever I start it. Very fun.

Sadly most the original team probably have left.

Its 10 years since L4D2 came out too. I know people hate Epic, but I believe Valve have finally realised they gotta start making games again to compete. Hopefully this is the start. Valve were happy to sit and cash in the steam money, but now Epic are providing them competition and they need games

I'm in the phase of being bored at gaming, never seem to get far into a game before switching out.

All I play now is golf club 2019. Always happens, don't game for a while, then binge game.

Keep thinking I want to replay something, download it then get bored in an hour. Today's urge is assassin's creed black flag. Whatever happened to that pirate ship game ubisoft were making? Can't remember it's name now.

Anyone else just feeling done with "gaming"? Nearly everything about it just seems so repetitive, annoying and boring. Seeing the new Xbox and PS5 announcement/speculation and how powerful they're going to be, like how many times are we going to go through the exact same scenario with them saying the exact same stuff.

Also it seems more of a cringe fest than ever. The Game Awards taking themselves far too seriously, gaming "celebrities", grown ups shrieking and running around the room on video because some game got announced or celebrating because their fave game won an award...

The games themselves can still be fun, but everything surrounding them just annoys me more than ever.

I know this is just a bit of an old man yelling at cloud type situation, but I didn't sleep and grumpy

I've never cared about game award shows, people watching games on Youtube and everything involved. That all started with a newer generation. But the standard of games has been very good lately, which is still the most important. I'm 36 now, and I try to play a few games a year. Red Dead Redemption, God of War, Resident Evil, The Last of Us, Uncharted and many others, all excellent games.

I mostly just play COD now. Feel like over the last couple of years I've dropped off trying new games. I've got GamePass and hardly use it.

I feel the exact same, however there's still a few gems which pop up and I get excited over, RDR2, the Witcher 3 being examples. Amazing games I could play on repeat.

Excited for diablo 4 too!

These shows are always crap. They're the Fifa/Uefa ceremonies of the video game industry.
Yeah. I just stuck it on for a minute for a break from the election, it was so annoying

I'm the same pretty much, all I'm bothered about is the games, it just feels like the other parts are so in your face now it's hard to not see and get annoyed by it at times.

Before getting Mario Maker in July I can't remember the last game I got, must have been last year. Oh well I'm still playing that so I guess I don't need anything else!

Yeah there are a few games I'm looking forward to and enjoy playing, but the days of me looking forward to a trailer or e3 and all that are over, just let me play the game and I'm happy

I know what you mean. It seems to be happening to me with a lot of things lately so I'm beginning to wonder whether I've just become a jaded old man at the age of 28

I took the PS3 down from the attic at Christmas and since then I've been playing through the catalogue I have and it's the most fun in years I've had in terms of gaming. 100% completed Lego Star Wars: Force Awakens, completed a large chunk of Skyrim (vanilla, no mods), on my way to completing Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch at platinum level too. Just loaded up Sleeping Dogs, forgot how good this game was.

EDIT: Also, Ni No Kuni is now firmly in my top 10 games of all time for personal enjoyment and investment story wise.

Any of you lads play a PC game called Satisfactory? It's a first person version of the game Factorio with some enhancements.

Update 3 is only a few weeks away

Checked it out and it looks great. Shame it's an Epic exclusive - and I never really buy Early Access titles anyway. But I'll keep an eye out so thanks.

Well, a fair decent amount of rumours stating that it's only a year long exclusive and so it will be released on steam fairly soon.

I don't buy Early Access titles either, but this game is incredibly stable and has a ridiculous amount of content already. The devs are bloody fantastic too. Easily the best Early Access game i've ever bought, hands down.

I'm not quite done with gaming but I definitely complete far, far fewer games these days. There's plenty of stuff I sit down with and think 'Awesome ...' but then give up shortly after and never to return. Not sure what it is, maybe a bit of your described apathy.

I think mainly I just don;t have time but there is definitely something else. I wondered if it's just saturation as you say. Games in general are so good that we've been spoiled and they need to be something absolutely incredible to hook us in to the end?

But saying that, some of my favourite games of recent years are strange little things like Superhot VR, Valiant Hearts, the Great War, Dear Esther, Everybody's gone to the Rapture, Firewatch etc. Whereas massive AAA titles like Horizon Zero Dawn and Red Dead Redemption 2 ... amazing as they are, I surrendered and left them unfinished.

Or maybe I'll just blame Skyrim. Loved that game so much and put so many hours in that nothing else quite lives up to it.

Here's a shot of my ultimate factory design. Took a while to work out that you could have a false floor where the majority of the conveyors could go and I added on that by including a false ceiling. All of the conveyors with raw materials are up in the ceiling and all of the items built inside the factory are moved about under the floor.

That's only a small part of the factory, but the entire building outputs an end game item called a Turbo Motor.

That's good to hear. The concept is definitely interesting, a type of game I never really played before. If it gets a full release on Steam as well then it's a definite buy.

I haven't played them either tbh. They're great games no doubt, but they do all share very similar gameplay mechanics, kind of feel once you've played one of these large open world games you've played them all. They also require a huge amount of time to play through them.

I'd forgotten how true this was as I hadn't played a proper open-world game in a few years. Playing through the Witcher 3 now and I'm at 70 hours and still no end in sight. Not complaining mind; it's the best game I've ever played.
