Celebrities talk about serious issues to raise awareness you dumb feck.
I agree with Klopp on this one. Football players in general are not very intelligent. Like you said, people sometimes rely on celebrities to hear their take in certain things but then you have them hearing Steph Curry say the moon landing did not happen, or Kyrie Irving that the Earth is flat and they will start believing this stuff.

Although if you need Klopp to make yourself aware there is a coronavirus out there I'd say you have more problems. Even someone who doesn't watch news should be aware there is a virus currently out there.

That didn't happen.

Right?

Any comments from yesterday regarding the game? Did he blame the winter break? Wind? Injuries? His own team selection?

I start to think seriously them doing so well in the league reduce a bit of the fire to keep it up. I hope it is the case and they totally bottle the double too.

There was a time where experts were celebrities because the media actually consulted them rather than pop culture celebrities for important matters. The big names of science were rock stars up until the 60s.

I do think the lack of mental pressure week by week is negatively affecting them in the cups and called that it would months ago.

I always laugh when people say about a runaway Champion that they can rest players in the league and be more fresh for Europe, never works that way, it's no coincidence all of England's CL finalist's still had either the title or top 4 to play for going into the penultimate weekend at the earliest.

Yeah it was a long time since Bayern won CL and Juventus have not done it I think. Even though they dominate the league fully for years.
PSG has yet to do anything in europe as well even with a top side.

Maybe this year Juventus can do better since they actually have a fight in the league. Although the Corona seem to stop that race and Lyon might knock them out.

Remember when Ja Rule was asked to comment on 9/11?

Neither do I, but I recall Dave Chappelle recounting it.

I don't know if you were being sarcastic but Jurgen Klopp was absolutely brilliant in there. Most celebrities are quiet about the coronavorus and the ones that aren't are idiots.

How was he supposed to raise awareness to an issue he knows nothing about, specially after an impromptu question?

I just wished people like Boris Johnson or Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa (Portugal's president) had given such brilliant answers instead of saying/doing what they did when asked the same thing. And these are people that should have actually studied it before, unlike Klopp who was under no such obligation.

He answered the coronavirus issue perfectly I thought. He's not a medical expert and he's not a politician and he's not pompous enough to think he should have a reputable say in it like a member of Hollywood. Why would you ask him about this type of thing?

Shrewd too, considering it might rob his club of the Title when they stop all the footy.

He’s spoken about politics plenty of times over the years, he was just being a bit edgy because they keep losing.

Time for a sack watch thread yet?
Definately time for Sack Watch when they get knocked out to Athletico in 9 days.
The players starting to look clueless and tired. I guess thats a result of overplaying your players all season. Especially the front three looked drained for a long time now and he just keep playing them.

Somehow think that whole first title in 30 years thing will give him a bit of credit..

Right?
It did. Look it up - even Obama had to comment on it saying that such stuff shouldn't be said as it gives the wrong idea to younger generations who look up to Curry.

Quite different to comment on politics or on an ongoing international emergency.

Not for the reasons he used when not speaking about the virus.
The virus is actually a lot more relevant to football than politics, given that it has the chance to stop matches from happening (as we're seeing in Italy)
‘Politics, coronavirus, why me? I wear a baseball cap and have a bad shave.'
He actually mentioned politics last night anyway.
Like I said, I just think he's chosen not to speak about it because he lost and he was sulking. Maybe I'm wrong but when I see a guy willing to discuss Corbyn, brexit, democratic process, left and right wing etc but then refuse to give an opinion on something that could potentially affect him and the premier league, I take it with a little pinch of salt.
Lampard, alternatively, was willing to provide a comment:
"As a manager, yes. As a father, yes. As a husband, yes. I think we are all in same boat with that, We are taking all the right courses of action here within the club. I am concerned as the rest of us, I guess."

For me it was sensibly answered but ,surely a gif when during the game he had his neck/scarf thing over his mouth, would be apt?

There'll never be a sack watch for Klopp. He's got enough credit in the bank to leave when he wants to and he won't be pushed out without uproar from the fans.
We've had a bad couple of weeks but it happens. We weren't going to win every match this season unfortunately but we will win the league if nothing else and after 30 years, that's all I care about.
We were awful against Chelsea and Watford but to te the truth, we've been dreadful since the winter break. In seasons gone by, everytime we've had a mid season break, we've been crap for a few games straight after. Hopefully a decent showing against Bournemouth is on the cards (not least because I'm still in the last man standing and I've chosen Liverpool this week) and we'll get back to winning ways prior to Atletico.

I expected that one! I basically made that one so easy to score that even Lingard would have scored that.
So you like to be insulted and humiliated, eh? Being treated worst than dirt, eh? Like a doormat under dirty shoes, eh?

When you hear the full thing it’s hard not to agree with him. Also that ‘bad shave’ comment made me laugh out loud:lol:

Yeah, very impressive by him. Some of the quotes are taken out of context by selecting just part of it, so people should watch videos of what he said.

I think it’s fine for footballers and managers etc. to talk about politics and the like when they’re clearly informed e.g. that day Gary Neville spoke about racism in the highest level of govt. but if not, it’s best not to say anything as to not run the risk of spreading misinformation to millions.

I find this bellend’s weird insistence on watching the opposition’s warm-up from an uncomfortably-close distance to be terrible sportsmanship. Why is this condoned?

Wanker.

It's creepy and you know he thinks he's brilliant doing it. He gets away with an outlandish amount of cuntishness.

It’s outrageous. Lineker was snickering about it just before the ad break just then as if Klopp is some sort of lovable rogue. How can football people within the game not find it cnutish behaviour?

Klopp LOOKS AT opposition players in a way that makes some Man Utd fans uncomfortable!
