Great news, next I want Gomes.
What? You sound like Mr Burns. Shave those side burns.Hmmm letting him leave was the right move, he needs to bulk up massively to stand a chance with his frame on the wing. Also needs to sort out his hair, it looks like it affects his game quite a lot.
Could do. He was a real slow burner wasn’t heDo you think he could hopefully develop similar to a Douglas Costa, who roams throughout the midfield at times, attacking from deep?
gilmour developed mostly with rangers, Chelsea were just the ones who got his signature.Pfft! "Billy Gilmour" is clearly a made up character from some comic book or video game.
In all seriousness, youngsters develop at different rates and some have a basic, linear line of development. Chong is not a prodigy, either, unlike "Billy Gilmour" seemingly is, who was literally made in a Chelsea lab to play football.
Gilmour seems like he's going to get to where he's going a hell of a lot quicker than someone like Chong, by the looks of things. Chong might take 18, maybe even 24 months to show anything, but then, he may skyrocket, such is the nature with some kids. If we're going to let youngsters go, we have to be 100% certain they can't cut it, and I personally wouldn't say Chong is a 'no hoper' or someone to write off even if I think he's some way from first team football at a club like Manchester United right now.
Personally, I'd get him a loan in England and let him get a better feel for the league without having all that anxiety he's currently got coupled into his game. He's better than he has shown, but there, he isn't nervous or flappy in the reserves.
I'm not arsed about long hair in the slightest, but it's not a best idea if you're a professional footballer especially at the length he has it coming down the sides. It blocks his peripheral vision when he's playing and he's always trying to get it out his face, I wouldn't be surprised if it slowed him down a bit as well. What? You sound like Mr Burns. Shave those side burns.
I'm very much of the same opinion, a deal that only runs till summer 2022? Means a year loan next season following a likely transfer summer 2021 imo
Looks like United have more or less guaranteed him chances in the first-team if he signs a short-term contractDeal only until 2022 (year option) - probably benefit both us and the player
Juve and a couple of other clubs, but he is looking for first team opportunities, not swapping one clubs reserves for another. So nobody else wanted him then?!
I really hope you are kiddingHope this doesn’t mean we are giving up the pursuit of Sancho on the right wing
Yeah, another one who didn't break out till his mid 20's. The list is endless, i don't know why Chong is written off so confidently, he's clearly got talent, we see it in flashes already.Could do. He was a real slow burner wasn’t he
Buy Sancho from Dortmund and offer to loan them Chong as (a small) part of the deal? His path to the first team squad is blocked by better players than him with more to come in the summer. I think it’s both in his and the club’s interest that he moves on to somewhere where he gets more playtime. I’m just not sure Inter is the right club for him.
Inter has inter intense competition for spaces with the club using a mostly experienced players, with only a handful of young ones, as it attempts to launch an assault on the Scudetto. I reckon he’d be better off in mid-table, we’ll-run club in Germany.
You've seen nothing so far really? He's hit the bar & been unlucky not to score a few times just his last few appearances. He assisted Fred vs Brugge also. You can see that once he grows into his frame and gets used to the increase in physicality, he'll be much better.gilmour developed mostly with rangers, Chelsea were just the ones who got his signature.
good players stand out straight away almost all the time, or even offer flashes of brilliance at that age. Chong really hasn’t done anything of note during his time in the park in meaningful games. I expect his career to be similar to fosu mensah in the interim, but of course happy to be proved wrong
Yeah, just hope we get Gomes done next, which I think will be done imo. He genuinely loves it here and has been here since he was a kid. Just give him the minutes that Lingard and Periera get, and I think he will sign easily.Guys he is 20.. Had a tough injury couple of years ago and is maturing. He is class on the U23's and he will get better. Looking forward to see his progression at Utd. Good news now to the Gomes thread.
