Yeah I can imagine that would have added a bit of a weird atmosphere.Yes, this is the odd part for me, they have clearly said this is allowed, so if you can work safely still then you would be a fool not to claim this aswell, not because you're a greedy bugger, but because it would be impossible to say that just as this might not be affecting your income right now (back orders, etc), that it won't do in six months time, when this scheme hopefully won't be available anymore, but business could well be very different.
So I was in the hospital working when everyone just started to clap at 8. Some might think it's silly but it really does boost moral with the nurses.

We are going under a 21-day lockdown in less than an hour. This pharmacy has been packed for the last three days. At the dispensary there is an old man who was initially retrenched several months ago due to his age (73-75). He was asked to come and assist again in these mad times, probably thankful to lend a hand. He literally stands for 9 painful hours a day, smiles at everyone and exposes his frail self to all these germs.
While I was in there I heard at least three people with persistent coughs.
This old man is a hero. If I could I'd be clapping to show my appreciation. Here's to you old, nameless man!

I hope those fighting NHS workers for flour and toilet paper first thing in the morning clapped the most.
Anyway, we are on pretty much on same percentage of deaths like last night. 525 605 cases, 23 711 deaths, that's still 4,5%, as yesterday.
Bit worrying considering you expect number of tested/infected to grow quicker than the deaths. I will follow this regulary at this time of day only with hope of it becoming far more positive in next few days/weeks.

To be fair, it’s an odd choice of thread to look for anything other than misery in fairness, hardly gonna be full of comments like “only ten gone Ireland today, less than a dozen, top stuff”.
Hopefully in a few weeks we’ll start seeing some numbers to be pleased about, but almost certain to get worse before it gets better.

There was another video of municipal officials conducting a surprise check on a grocery store to check if they were not jacking up the prices of essential commodities. The policemen patrolling swung into action and whacked the hell out of the officials for breaking quarantine and standing so close to each other.

Thanks. Gone further with my GP and have been told im not serve enough to be on the list. Which is worrying me because I know at my worst Im at risk more than the average person. Seems like I might have to go back to working a job that isnt strictly important as I'd struggle getting no money. Athlough im sure im not the only one in that boat .
