Best performance of the 5 forwards that played today. He really shouldn't be coming off the bench anymore.

I don't want to argue against anybody voting Pogba or Bruno as MOTM, because they were both great and had significant influences on the players around them.

But watching Greenwood today, I honestly think his sum of good moments minus bad moments gave him the most positive final balance of anybody on the pitch. He pretty much did everything right without putting a foot wrong. The only thing missing was a goal - though even his miss was a decent bit of play in its own right.

Kid must play in first 11 instead of James. Kid is everything what James is not. Direct, can dribble, can shoot with both feet, has very good technique. Must play from the start.

I get why James starts as Greenwood has struggled from the start in matches, but when he comes on against tired defenders they really do struggle.

so gutted that last chance didn’t go in!

Yep, time for James to become a full time impact sub in the last 10 minutes.
James is young too. Can still develop his game. Useful bench player to have, especially for league/Fa/dead rubber games. I feel we give him too much responsibility at times.

Yep. I was expecting a goal and was half celebrating when he shot. Thought that was in.

If it was somehow paused when he got the ball I would have bet my house on him scoring.
It's funny how so many of us said/thought this :D

He definitely looks like he's filling out and using his body better. Should be our starter on the right.

Martial should be very worried. He's not English and does not have the level of love and respect that Marcus has from everyone. Mason has a lot of quality and has already shown some prime skills which will almost certainly ensure his future as United's no.1 striker. I expect that we will have major problems with Martial next year over this, as Greenwood will take his spot as soon as next season. Sancho/another playmaker will takeover the right flank. Martial should really consider learning that position.

I thought he looked really good and was the spark we needed.
I do not know if it is the shorter hair but he does seem to be a bit stockier and looked a bit stronger on the ball today.

Agree with the other comments in here, he looks bigger, stronger and faster which when combined with his technical ability and finishing should see his performance levels elevate. I think he's simply got to start in the next game, just carries a far bigger threat than James. Finally, what a shame that final chance didn't go in, no player I would rather that fall to.

Has to be starting every game, no offence to him but he’s easily a better than Dan James and has been most of the season, I think James has a future here in some capacity but he’s getting a lot more games than I feel his performances have deserved relative to Greenwood’s performances.

I’ve got a really good feeling for this kid. He needs more minutes, he’s good enough and will get even better.

Such a shame his right foot isn't as accurate as his left. Everytime he has the ball on penalty box, you can't help but expecting something extraordinary from him.
It's a sign of world class player in the making.

What a player we have on our hands! His ability to create space for his shot is excellent. He also strikes it real early.

Did everything right today, if only that shot had crept in. It's obvious he should be starting now.

The weird thing is that he hardly ever seems to hit the ball cleanly, yet it almost always ends up being dangerous. Not sure I have seen that from any other player.

Ole has managed him well so far, but I think it's now really time for him to start, and let's start raising the expectations slightly because this kid has absolutely everything and can still have a gigantic impact on our season.

I don’t really agree with that about Greenwood, but it’s something I often thought about when we had Chicharito.

He looked very dangerous and like he has developed physically over lockdown. He has been good as a sub for a while, he should be given some chances to show he can have the same impact from the start as that's what he lacked before.

If between now and the end of the season he plays as well as he did yesterday will Sancho still be a priority or an out out ST like Haaland?? Still think Greenwood long term is a ST but he may have the qualities to make that RW his own and he`s bulked up physically he was out muscling that Spurs defence like children. Someone here mentioned he may surprise people on the RW and I think he could be right.

Decent performance. Much better than James, but that is not difficult. Should be in the first team.

Probably the best attacker with Martial. Rashford was not great; Igalho, I didn't notice he was on; James, the less said the better.

Sancho should be the priority. As you said he is the long term ST which makes Haaland unnecessary. Sancho is the long term RW. Rashford long term LW.

If anything if he kills the RW role it gives us more bargaining power for Sancho

He's so much more threatening than James, it's not even funny. He's 18 now, let him start over James, plenty of 18 year olds became a starter. It's not that risky.

Doesn't just look like he belongs on the pitch now; he actually looks a cut above. He's perfectly suited to our run of games almost all against opponents who will sit in against us and need to be broken down.

Should start from now on, with James as the option to bring off the bench. It makes more sense to do it that way anyway, since James' pace will be so much more use against tired legs when the gaps are getting bigger.

I know what you mean, and can think of a handful of players of whom that's true, but I actually don't think Greenwood is one of them at all. He hits the ball incredibly cleanly.

Very Impressive stuff from him. He really is the future of this club and looks like he'll develop quicker than Martial.

Yeah he’s ready to start and we should unleash him for the rest of the season. He has the quality to make the difference when the team isn’t functioning well, which could easily happen again in these new circumstances.

Would have been a goal if it had been him instead of Martial after that magnificent Fernandes pass.

It is, he just needs to build his confidence up at senior level when using his right. If that shot had come after 3-4 games, it would've been a goal. It just speaks volumes how much of a natural and clinical finisher that we're all surprised it didn't find the back of the jet, crazy to think he started the season 16 years old.

This guy is gonna be an absolute gem, looks like he's gonna produce every time he gets the ball.

Needs to start over James as he's much the better player.

Start him over James ffs. The gulf in between the two players is clear. James should be the one coming on as a sub when the teams are tired and stretched.
