Everytime he gets the ball, he tries to make a killer pass and loses the ball. In games when we are expected to have a lot of possession that is fine but against better teams, he will have to pick and choose the right moments to do it.
Of course, I would rather have someone constantly trying the killer pass rather than not trying any at all.

I was a bit surprised when Jesse Lingard was not even on the extended bench.
Then, I realised this is the power of Bruno and our manager is Ole and not LVG or JM. Ole smiles and talks nice but has the guts to drop underperforming players.
More power to Bruno. The guy is is dynamic in the final third. Can't wait till he gels with all the front 3.

It's only maybe City and Liverpool that he may be more cautious and selective with his passing (and to be fair he is clever enough to see that himself as evident by our last game against City), while we absolutely need that risk taking when playing all the other teams in the league.
Watching this guy and Pogba in the same team is absolute joy. He was a bit rusty yesterday but his class still came through.

He probably has the best first touch in the PL.
I don't think he was that great yesterday BUT he's a good personality and that spreads. But even when great players have poor games, all it takes is a moment or a touch and he's shown that 1) transfers ARE important...and 2) we don't have that poor a squad. Perhaps our morale and belief was low but he's been great for us. We should have got him in the summer!
He was good and his constant energy causes teams to become unsettled, he's never stationary and his touch in Martial's third goal was slick.
I think Bruno is a Rooney-type of player for us, not that he has a similar style, but he is a catalyst for the whole squad and the opposition fears him. He brings the X-factor with his flair, incredible shooting and passing, his work rate is also fantastic.
In many ways, the most important thing he does is lose the ball.
By which I mean, play with the confidence in his own ability to be willing to risk losing the ball, over and over again if necessary, in pursuit of decisive attacking passes. Lesser players want everything they do to be successful in order to impress. Fernandes understands that if he loses the ball ten times and assists two goals, he has done his job.
Not only that, but without losing the ball you force the opponent into an almost impenetrable defensive block that becomes very hard to score against. Of course, there are strategies that can work a way through those blocks. Guardiola is probably the foremost coach for devising and implementing those strategies in this generation of football. But it is in many ways simpler to just allow your opponent more possession of the football and a better balance of the territory. We all know this. We all understand that on the balance of counter-attacking vs possession-dominant football we do not want to be at the extreme end of the possession scale. What fans so rarely seem to acknowledge is that the only way to give your opponent a healthier balance of possession and territory, thus drawing them out and opening bigger spaces through which to attack, is to lose the ball, frequently. Klopp's glory days at Dortmund were a perfect example of this strategy: attack as directly and boldly as you can as soon as you get the ball. If you score, great. If you lose the ball, you allow the opponent to keep a positive shape and attitude to the game, leaving gaps for your next attempt on goal. It's a win-win.

Strange a few people think he wasn't as good as he usually is yesterday. Some of his first touches and passing were excellent.

More like he was kind of letting pogba run the show.
But he's still a match winner at the end of the day capable of producing that one moment of class that makes all the difference whether it be by pass or shot that doesn't require service. Pogba has that in his locker too.

I'm not sure people know what a good performance or a bad one is to be honest.
If he's not scoring or assisting it's deemed "bad" but his job as the link man between attack and defence he did perfectly.
The flick to Martial for the 3rd, the dribble/fake shot to setup the cross for Martial's first etc.
He just brings a great confidence to the team, and with Pogba being the quarterback behind him he will get him plenty of service.

Stats don;t show the entire truth in the case of Bruno. He will keep trying to unlock a defence.
People worried about him and Pogba in one team but top class players will always play off each other. It makes us so dangerous as teams can no longer just man mark Pogba out of a game to stop us.

I'm 99% sure that he will.
He will give it next year and see if the club really is taking off in the right direction before committing, it'll also give other clubs a chance to recover financially to give him different options.
I do hope though if we can continue this good form and start a good early challenge for the title next year he will decide to stay.

I agree. It’s a shame Maguire is basically our default captain. Bruno not only leads by quality but also by example with his mentality.
I like to think he was bad in Sheffield United's game by his standard. If it was Andreas playing like Bruno in that game, I'd say that he's good because we all know Andreas's quality.

People are saying that Bruno didn't have a great game against Sheffield United - yes he gave the ball away, however it's him taking the chances he did that adds the creativity, he's willing to try these things, especially against a more defensive tactical side, that gives us the opportunity to score 3+. Without Bruno playing, and giving the ball away, it's likely that would have been a 0-0 or 1-0.

And even then he was pivotal in setting some fine goals up. Whether it's the flick to Rashford for martial 3rd goal, or versus spurs where he set Martial up one on one (which was saved). The guys an absolute beast, I think of KDB when I see his passes and deliveries into the box or through the heart of defence.
I thought Bruno was great against SU. Studied him and Pogba all game hoping both would shine and Bruno would rise above just because my son wanted a Pogba shirt for birthday and I have bought a Bruno one.. ..still hoping for Pogbato stay though. Really likes Brunos intentions with the ball and the speed which he takes a decision and creates something. His passing technique is up there with KDB
I'm one of those posters. He was 9/10 previously. The last two games he's been playing at just 8.5.
To me he has the balance spot on. He doesn't play frivolous passes. There's thought behind them, and a real possibility of actually finding his man. Even if he doesn't make that pass every time, it teaches the opposition to be weary, which opens up opportunities elsewhere.
Started seeing more and more comments of "criticisms" about his risky passes.

I was one of those clowns that sat comfortably in my wisdomchair and posted how I didn't think he would be a good signing for us. I'd say I was moderately wrong.
I hope he remains here for a long time but i hope he has something to show for it. Unlike someone like de gea who so badly deserves a few leagues and a cl but unfortunately we didn't deliver

Just watched the game again and his ability to always make himself available in the hole for a matic pass is what has transformed us. He doesnt hide from a pass which is something lingard is guilty of. Lingard would usually drop deeper to receive the ball instead of finding pockets of space between midfield and defense. i dont think we will ever have any problems swatting the bottom half teams with this guy available.
I do want him to stop forcing things a bit when we are too slow. You can just tell he loves the fast paced action. Maybe its the rustiness but a lot of his passes didnt come off and could lead to a counter against better attacking sides.
