Perhaps, but I'd be surprised if he goes for anything but a high price. He's been extremely valuable to us.
No chance. He came on a free and am sure we'll let him go for a small amount if he wants a move.

Also, really hope Leeds are forced to buy JKA from RBL!

New manager who failed with Everton versus Barcelona's best ever player.
Gonna be a close one.
Didn't Messi make the same noise last season? Plus, Barça will just put a ridiculous price on his head which probably not even PSG/City can afford in these times.

As Sky Sports News reported last month, Manchester United have been monitoring the situation. However, it is understood their interest in the player is
unlikely to go any further.

Although in the market for a new centre-half, preferably on the left of a pair, and having worked towards two other targets, Manchester United have not made a bid or held discussions with Gabriel himself.

But it remains likely the player will come to the Premier League this summer in a deal worth £27m, whether that is London or Manchester.

Oh, yeah, I forgot that he came in for free. In that case, and given that he's given us several years with the club, I can see us letting him go for a more reasonable price (depending on the club).

Classless post. Sums up much of the Chelsea contingent infesting the forum, with the odd exception.
Yawn
We'll probably not see a “teams likely to be relegated” “relegation dogfight” “could X and X get relegated” type threads on here this season. I'll be looking out for your “classy” post if there is. I'd love to read your classy posts on Leeds as the season progresses:)

Fiorentina are linked with both Chelsea's Davide Zappacosta and Roma's Alessandro Florenzi. They're open to taking Zappacosta on loan. Florenzi is tougher as Everton are farther ahead of Fiorentina in negotiations.

I don't think I've ever seen a post from you where you're not obsessing about Britishness.
Well we really haven't used the European transfer market to it's fullest. That's basically my point. Instead of Grealish, there are midfielders in Europe just as good. The only player we signed from a European club is Bruno. The rest have all been based in Britain. It's not an obsession. I just think we could get better value for money if we used the European transfer market more.

Sound like the kind of take it with a grain of salt news. Barcelona getting linked with all kind of Dutch players now that Koeman became the manager.

I don't see Memphis fitting the no 9 or wide forwards profile for Barcelona.

Yes, probably, I have already read about Van de Beek(who could be a good signing) and Wijnaldum.

Release/buyback clauses are illegal in France, so we have a gentleman's agreement with Lyon to have first dibs on him in case another club reaches an agreement for him.
Pretty sure we have a sell-on clause.

This could be another van Gaal situation where a Dutch coach brings in a bunch of Dutch players he's worked with and it falls flat.
And surely they will sign a Dutch, because Holland/Cruyff sell very well in Barcelona and to give Koeman some authority or sympathy, which I think he has not generated.
The point is if they get it right, in the past they signed very bad Dutch players, but also Kluivert, Cocu or Frank de Boer who were great hits

That is true, we do have that. That's not an issue in France, though; buyback & release clauses, however, are.
Indeed, but it is the most relevant seeing as he is being linked with a move elsewhere, and not one to us. A buy-back clause or release clause is of no interest for a player we aren’t pursuing.

I see why you mentioned that; yeah, that's perfectly fair.

I actually wouldn’t have minded us signing this guy. He’s comparatively not too expensive and fits our plan of spending wisely while broadening our squad depth this summer.

A mate of mine reckons another reason for not much cash this summer is because of Tampa Bay spending it all on Tom Brady and their stadium to host a future Superbowl
That person is an idiot. NFL has a salary cap. All teams have the same amount they can spend. Tom Brady does nothing to the amount Tampa Bay has to spend. They would have spent it regardless.

A well reputable journalist for Athletic. That said, they just employed Carl Anka so their standards have dropped considerably.
He was working for them from before. He's just now writing about United as well. He hosts the Man Utd podcast for them.

That's what I am thinking. Barcelona fans love having Spanish players and especially Catalan players in their side. Memphis Depay really not sure about that one, Suarez in his pomp was great for them and he is Messi friend can see a lot of problems.
