Raiola: "I can say that it's over for Pogba at United"

Let him go, take the loss on the chin and get him out of the club. Not every single player or talent is covered by Riola, so lesson learned here for the board.

Get a director of football in place who knows how to work with agents like Riola, he is playing us like a finely tuned violin at the moment.
I don't think there is a DoF at a top club that knows how to work with Raiola.

So...given a) his contract situation and b) the current market...can someone provide me with a realistic scenario in which Pogba leaves in January for a half-decent fee?

Who wants him? Who's willing to pay enough for him so that we won't be out of pocket to a ridiculous extent?
Doubtful any club other than City or PSG could afford Pogba + agent fee's + signing on fee's this or next window for that matter. I accept, parting of the waves is best, Riola is negotiating early given the market conditions i.e doing us a favour not to lose him on a free. Let's not forget though it works for Riola if he goes in January as no doubt he will get more of a cut of the fee's and also Utd breaking contract with Pogba. He's a canny negotiator thats for sure

Fair enough. Only thing I really care about is us getting a good fee for him so we can invest in the squad.

He doesn't deserve a new contract, and he has 1.5 years left on his current one. It's pretty much a given that he will go in the winter or summer window.

Incredible timing to say this after the one good game he's had in weeks:lol:.

Can't wait for him and his agent/brother/entire circus to feck off from this club.
Did he even have a good game? He scored a fantastic and important goal but I thought he was piss poor other than that. As is typical with him, a highlights reel moment papers over the cracks.

I felt the van de Beek signing might be the Pogba replacement prior to him leaving.

Bruno is the player we all hoped Pogba would be so no loss from a footballing side. Be doing well to get anywhere near what was paid for Pogba back.

Mourinho was absolutely right about him. He's toxic.

As much as Haaland is a fantastic player, I don't want any Raiola clients again.

Pretty much this.
This is exactly what will happen when he moves too. Mediocre most of the time but enough magic for a solid 3 mins YouTube video and people will be drooling all over him again. He's always been that type of player and never will be consistently World Class despite his talent.

Also one thing that you could consider is that maybe United are the ones who told Pogba that he was expendable.
That's a possibility.

For all we know, Raiola has been told by United that we ain't interested in offering him an upgraded contract.

In the context of a general "trying to push Woody into giving him a new contract" scenario, his comment seems a bit off. It's not "new challenges" - it's more like "nah, we're done - come and get us".

hmmm I guess. I just feel like this has happened too many times now. It’s really not good for the dressing room and for morale. This Discussion could of been had during the actual transfer window, why now? The eve of the biggest game of our season. Sick of it, sick of him. It’s feckery from him and his team and we are waaaay too big to pander to him and his bull.
Fair points, I'm pretty sick of the circus too.

A big  at the announcement as if it is some sort of mortal blow to the club after his, on the whole, very poor tenure here.

A player who promised so much and delivered so little while using his mouthpiece to complain the whole time. Acting like he was superior to issues that he was massively contributing toward.

This is great news and not the somber tone Raiola thinks it should be met with.

I can’t wait to get him and his shite attitude out of the club. On the whole, a giant disappointment and one of the most disappointing signings United have made in the Premier League era (considering his wage, transfer fee and contribution/attitude)

If only we signed those 3/4/5/6/7 players to maybe get the best out of him.

Doubt he'll get a good reception if he ever plays here again for another club. Half of this circus is his agents doing but he's added fuel to the fire himself lots of times and he could also ask his agent to shut up and not make those comments.

I just utterly despise the total lack of regard for the fans, the club etc. and the utter waste of his time and the club's during the past 5 years. A complete waste of time.

He shows you in a flash of what he's capable of against West Ham, and suddenly you're thinking there's still hope. Then this.

I honestly don't have the energy to care anymore about Raiola and Paul Pogba. I'm not even mad he's leaving, moreso the timing is just terrible. A pivotal week in our season, and this is all Ole will be asked about for the next few pressers. Disgraceful.

If you think Arsenal reportedly bought Pepe by essentially setting a finance plan to pay in instalments, no reason we couldn't do the same with another club. He's a hugely marketable player so hopefully we can get a decent fee for him - ideally we use that money to get a DM which I think will make a huge difference to us.

That's the kind of things that bothers me, every teams on earth try to find the perfect balance and chemistry by bringing players that fit the ones they have and altering their system to maximize everyone's output. But for some reason that universal process is used against certain players which is frankly senseless and create a toxic context and that applies to Maguire who has been criticized for the same reason.

It’s amazing the club still humours all this none sense, he’s (tried to) make a fool of us so many times, he should be no where near the match squad by now. 12-24 months ago we didn’t have the quality in CM so it was a difficult situation but now we’re better without him so I see no merit in having him around.

I’drather play Lingard or Phil Jones CM than see him play at this point, can’t stand him, the most over rated, self-entitled player ever to have played for us.

Hopefully he leaves as early as next month, it would be the best solution for all parties involved.

I wish we could still play that narrative these days trying to flog him with loads of youtube clips. But unfortunately its a the stage now where other clubs I think have smartened up and realised hes a liability alot of the time.... As someone posted earlier, 'a highlight player'
Unfortunately true.

He has the hump watching Bruno be twice the player he is and 10 times the personality he is over the last year.

Sell and use the money on Camavinga. Doesn't matter if it takes thr full fee. Fantastic talent who I've watched a lot of, and far more suited to our current needs than whatever we're supposed to be getting from Pogba.

Last night rumours that Bruno's getting a new contract to reflect his value to United.

Today Raiola dropping the not minded to sign a new deal stuff.

Coincidence...?

This reads to me like: Offer Pogba ungodly money or we're off.

It's obvious, and no need to go to the public, especially now.

I, for one, welcome our new midfield overlord, Aaron Ramsey.

My concern is that the Glazers will not let us use the money to replace him. If we can somehow sneak 70-80mill and reinvest all of it, thats a great result
