Feckin hell, he's been useless hasn't he. The odd goal here and there but for 70M!

Feel bad for him, don't think you can go from being such a good player in Ligue 1 to playing at the level he is right now. Arsenal and becoming like Schalke in Germany, a horribly run club with some genuine good players mixed in with some really average ones and a toxic environment (which fecking club would leak an investigation until they own transfer?!) that doesn't allow for any growth.

I'm sure many of these Arsenal players who look poor now would be better in other clubs.

Looks awful every time I see him play.

Cant beat a man, shots going into row z, looked like a Sunday league player today.

Should have gone to Napoli instead. Feel like he'd do really well in Italy

Honestly i think he'd do well in england too, just needs a team that isn't as disfunctional as arsenal

Right now he's playing with no confidence, like the rest of the team. Nobody would look good there right now

We're getting a lot of grief over Donny for 40m, but just look at how much money other clubs have wasted for these lot:

Pepe - 70m
kepa - 70m
Havertz - 70m
Keita - 60m
Ake - 40m
Cancelo - 65m

That's a lot of money down the drain!

He strolls about all the time as if he’s just scored a hat trick and he’s above everyone else on the pitch.

To be fair I would like to see the list we have over the last 7 years feels like most players fail or letdown here.
Feel bad for him he’s not a 70m player but he has been awful

It’s funny, I’m actually becoming more and more glad we didn’t bite at Dortmund’s ridiculous transfer demands for Sancho.

Shearer did a bit on him on MOTD showing him ambling forward when they were attacking down the left with no desire to get into the box whatsoever.

He would have been on the end of a few chances if he had bothered getting to the back stick.

He's been horrible bar a-few Europa League games and a small run towards the end of last season. My brother, Arsenal fan, backs up how absolutely dire he has been.

Think the only grief we are getting for Donny (mainly from Dutch media) is his lack of game time rather than his performances/price tag.

I must admit I was one of those people who thought Utd should have got him, mainly based on he was a Lille winger and the last Lille winger who put him stats like he did was Hazard and missing out on Hazard was a bad decision in hindsight, as well as our right wing is non-existent.

Hopefully come end of this season, we'll be saying how we signed a better Ivorian right winger for half the price Pepe went for.

Almost half of his goals in his final season with Lille were from the spot. Now I know Utd fans get a bit defensive whenever anyone brings up a player's total being inflated by penalties but 22 goals definitely sounds more impressive than 12 or 13, I'm sure Arsenal did their due diligence though.

Was watching the match with french commentary and former Arsenal player Grimandi sounded like he truly had a deep hatred for Pepe. Said that his pen was the best about his game

Reading his wiki page last night, I was shocked that Bielsa bought him after watching every match of his. Bielsea doesn't strike me as a guy who compromises on teamwork/work rate but he must have done so in this case? Nothing about this bloke resembles a team player.

Maybe they didnt hence why they were investigating themselves

One player I am glad we didn't sign. Although still think arteta has killed his confidence. Ole might have gotten more from him (Although not much)

He's a very good dribbler, I still think there's something in there with him. Arteta is a tool, how can you manage to make a £70m quid winger forget how to beat a man or Aubameyang forget how to score a goal?

What is he ? 22/23 ? Still has time to get adjusted to think league. Not sure Arteta's style of football suits him though.

25, 26 in May.

I can see the logic behind backing such a huge investment but this is his second season. If he's still garbage in his third, they should really try to offload him.

Not really. He has quick feet but is far too easy to read and one-dimensional, loses the ball an insane amount. Don't think Arteta's tactics help him in that regard but he gets dispossessed a ton because he has no playmaking ability which the opposition have to think about. Link-up is nonexistent
