Not a chance. That's just caf hyperbole. De Bruyne is among the finest players the English game has ever seen. Bruno is brilliant but isn't in that league yet and probably won't ever be. Let him start performing a little more consistently in the big games first.

Needs a rest me thinks. There’s a pressure created when you’ve made a name for yourself, he’s not letting his game flow, forcing it (and he has been for a while.)

Just needs to clear his head and get back to basics.

Bruno has been in this league for twelve months. In two or three seasons time we’ll see, he might be up there.

Terrible performance today. The tantrum he threw when he was subbed is the sort of things people say Pogba apparently does too.

And I’m curious as to when Gary Neville and Martin Tyler will cotton on to the fact that they literally say every game that ‘poor pass from Bruno, which is very unlike him’. If the statement is made every week it’s probably not as shocking as they imply.

shit today. His passing and decision making was just bizarre at times. We needed someone to turn up in attack and it wasn’t him sadly (it also wasn’t the others)

Natural reduction towards the mean. Teams know he tries to play super early balls so step off. He is also clearly tired and needs a rest.

Effectively marked out of the game today, just as Salah and Mane were by us.

People say he is the worst on the pitch but still had the best chances. Free kick was not far off and he might have buried that chance but did not. Definitely was unsettled today and rushed way too much.
One does not exclude the other. He can be the worst player on the pitch but still find himself in a scoring opportunity.

I’m willing to be wrong but I’m not convinced that ‘tantrum’ was directed towards the coaching team. It’s more than possible he was still gobbing off at Wijnaldum.

Poor today but the overreaction is ludicrous, as one would expect. When he’s out of the team we’ll know about it.

Buying his own hype a little, I think. Desperate to do something big in a big game, trying to make almost every single pass a highlight reel.

There was a pass on the halfway line in the first half where he tried a volleyed outside of the boot pass that was never on when he could've played it inside to McTominay who was in acres of space. Needs to chill a bit.

His general play is shit the majority of the time. We can get away with it against lesser teams as we have too much quality all round to make up for him giving the ball away.

Against teams of equal or better quality it becomes a problem. As we rarely have the ball against said teams, we have less attacks which results in our chances of getting a penalty lowering so he can't mask his standard performances.

Well below par. Had about 3-5 key forwatd passes to make and fluffed them. Had 1 glorious chance, missed.
Tantrum was interesting.
Not going to moan, but he has to find that top level in these big games to elevate himself to next level.
Hopefully he'll get better in these games.

When he don't score and assist then his overall game looks very bad. Also why he press ahead of CF because it leaves our MF very light

Very disappointing. Just pretty bad in all aspects. Him and Pogba fluffed the biggest two chances of the match. I think the worst moment for Bruno was his one on one with Trent in the box. It was painfully bad. Maybe he needs a rest.

Is he really better than De Bruyne?
In 2020. Yes.

But he has to do it for longer to be considered a better player.

Today is not a fair assessment because the guy needs a rest
He has played every single game for months. Ole's lack of rotation could hurt us if he gets injured.

His stats are better but if we're being honest, no he's not. That doesn't take anything away from Fernandes. It's just De Bruyne is probably the third best player in the world.

It's difficult to find time on the ball against Liverpool but he also has to take less risks.

Him and Pogba both played it forward too long and too quick way too often. It had to be tactical to try and release the counter but it felt rushed.

That attitude needs to be nipped in the bud. You are entitled to be disappointed with coming off, it’s actually a good thing because it shows passion, but you can’t react like that with everyone watching. Hope Ole puts him in his place in the dressing room

Big players generally step up in big games. He was very small today. Too many dreadful passes and missed a golden chance to win it. Good against the little clubs

Worrying me now, very poor to be honest, no right to moan about the sub.
