the highlight reel from this game will be very good. There were so many just little bits of class.

Too good for this level. From a first team perspective he's still raw and a bit too casual in his decision making. Hope he's in the squad vs West Ham.

Well two things are clear.

He is way way too good for the under 23s.

And he would offer more from the bench than some of the attackers we have on there.

The biggest thing I think he needs to work on is his shooting. His touch, dribbling and passing are already brilliant.

3 goals and 3 assists in two games

He’s ready and so is Hannibal
I’m so excited for both of them
Anand reminds of a young Mo Salah but he needs time and he is so cool

not sure what else he can do to show he’s too good for this level. Blackburn are the league leaders. There’s nothing going to challenge him in the u23s

What about Shoretire and Mjebri. Are they also too good for this level? Or Hugill? Or Puigmal? There’s a bunch of kids in that team who look like exceptional talents. Doesn’t mean every one of them should be playing for the first team.

no but he’s already had senior minutes and a run out in the CL, cost 40 million and is probably on about 5 times what any of the rest you listed are?

I think Hannibal is staking a major claim for minutes this year too.

I actually think his decision making is too advanced for the age-group. There's things he tries that better players wouldn't miss. I think the fact that lesser minded players don't read the game quick enough has an impact on some of Diallo's decisions not coming off.

Hannibal is very close to being that, Shoretire is very promising but still a way to go.

Salary and transfer fee doesn’t make teenage footballers any more ready for senior football. It does mean that expectations are extremely high (which puts additional pressure and scrutiny on a very young footballer) but he’ll be ready when the coaches think he’s ready. He’s certainly not the only player in that team who is excelling.

He loves to pass and move inside. Playing a striker who he can feed the ball into and get it back off would really bring out the best in him.

Tried it a few times with hugill tonight but weren't in the same wavelength.

He's good eh? Ice cold on the ball and glides around completely unfazed. Sometimes makes it look like he's got all the time in the world. A joy to watch.

I personally can't wait to see him and Martial play together, I think the link up play could be quite special.

I agree. To me it seems like decision making is one of his strengths which is rare for a young player.

None of those you mentioned are in our problem positions. Shola has also been inconsistent at this level, looking out of his depth for a fair few games, not great against Liverpool, great today but is also what 16/17? Mejbri is probably too young to play CM in the prem. Hugill is far too young to play CF. Puigmal is probably leaving. Diallo is a level above u23s and is in a position you can afford to be a bit more lightweight and a position where we don’t have any specialists.

You can tell Mejbri absolutely loves playing with him.

yeah it’s already a good team in attack for sure but he’s lifted them another level and stands out a mile. involved in 6 goals in the last 2 games I think and Blackburn are the league leaders. it would be a shame for him to pick up an injury or something in the under 23s where the tackling and refereeing can be rough and the standard is too easy for him. He’d be playing first team rotation for Parma this year if we hadn’t come in for him so if we aren’t going to play him enough to develop then he will need a loan next year. I’m sure he’ll be with the first team soon and won’t be going anywhere. He genuinely looks potentially world class and I really don’t say that lightly. We’ve found a gem.

Amad wasn't even MOM to be fair. Had some outstanding moments combined with a few where he was out of the game. Came alive in the second half but it was a combination of him along with Shoretire and Hannibal that took Blackburn apart. They were a bunch of hackers really and the ref let them get away with far too much.
Honourable mention for Harvey Neville who was excellent on the right

Here he’s trying to show in two games that he’s due a fast promotion, and then one player scores four in the first and another scores a hat trick in the second ... poor Amad.
