Ole's past match interview for me suggests cavani has made his mind up due to being homesick and ideally wants to be back in South America.

However, no club in South America can pay him 250k a week so I wouldn't be surprised at all if we give him an offer he simply can't refuse.
Heck we re Manchester United. Surely we can just bring South America to England for him? Build a biodome around his house, plant some tropical plants, build a little wave pool with a beach.

In fairness, I don’t think we’ve seen that Cavani for a while. He was all over the place, which he definitely hasn’t been for the last few games. If he has that fire, he walks into every team in the Premier League, bar Spurs.
More like his fitness was all over the place. Looked back to full fitness today.

Colossal performance with vital contributions at both ends of the pitch. His energy levels were fantastic for the whole 90 minutes as well.

Convincing him to stay for another year would solve a lot of issues for us this summer. Being able to direct out funds towards a CB, CDM, and a RW with Cavani as the CF is the way to go for me.

Brilliant today, 2 goals as far as I’m concerned.. grafted both ends and back to showing our other forwards how to move and create space.

Yeah his movement is on another level. The best i've seen from a Utd striker since Ruud. Monstrous performance, 2* goals and an assist for Fred.

He is everything that Martial will never be. His passion is fantastic, definitely had another season in him, just hope it's with us

Brilliant to have him back in form at this vital point of the season. I think he will score at least 4-5 more until the end.

Very good today, scored 2 great strikers goals (even if 1 was disallowed)and linked well in attacks, plus made a big defensive header near the end. I liked the way he went over to Mason at full time.

I'm still wondering where that performance came from. Pure entertainment seeing a maestro at his work. His goal was spectacular. Today watching him took me back to the days of the Lawman. Carisma!

I saw comments after the EL game that he didn’t attack a cross from Telles because he isn’t interested any more. It’s nuts the kind of knee jerk assumptions people make every time a player has a couple of under par performances.
He didn't attack it quick enough and missed it. After that he had an ironic smile on his face. It looked like he was thinking "what happened to me."

You can understand why he's reluctant to commit given what Ole said post match but the biggest compliment you can give him is he's never played like someone who doesn't want to be here

Hopefully like Zlatan did he can fire us to a trophy

When he's fit and sharp he is fantastic. In an ideal world I would sell martial and keep him as well as getting a new striker but don't think we will be able to sell martial so it is risk to go into next season with Cavani as our main striker (given his fitness issues)

Martial and Rashford are each other’s competition. We should not sell him.

Cavani and Greenwood are our 9’s.

Martial has played as a CF in most of the games he has played over the last year.

Can't recall the last time he played well at LW, even at CF which appears to be his best position he has been horrendous this season. He should be sold as soon as possible but unfortunately his wages are a barrier

Greenwood has put in some decent performances upfront recently but doesn't really give us a presence up front so would be a risk to go into next season with him and an injyr prone cavani as our strike force

Yeah. It's a lot to consider. Just happy he's here for the moment. Absolutely crucial to us.

I know. He’s been terrible there. He’s a wide forward. Unconvincing as a 9.

Greenwood has a better shout of being our 9 than Henderson does of being our No1. People need to back him. He’s brilliant.

I've loved his performances for us. Maybe it's recency bias but I feel like his movement in the box and just his performances as no. 9 has been the best we've had since RVP. Don't think Lukaku or Zlatan had this kind of movement or goalscoring instincts.

That’s just not true. We are very likely to buy a no 9 this summer or next, that will at least mean very strong competition for Greenwood.

Henderson on the other hand is already the man in possession of the journey.

Really rate Greenwood, but your analysis is wrong.

He's been amazing. When we've got him last year I thought 'oh here we go, another Falcao, di Maria or Alexis Sanchez'. He's been anything but- brilliant player, giving it his all.

I agree with Keane, if we can keep him we should but we should get a CF in this summer no matter what his decision is.

He is only 19. Let's say if we sign Kane, Mason still can be our main striker in 3-4 years.

Great game. First half was poor like the rest but he was brilliant in second. Should have scored that Fred's chance .

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Just noticed his double fist pump celebration when Fred scored. Great to see.
Amazing celebration. He doesn’t look like someone who doesn’t want to be here. It’s all so bizarre - if his body is up to it why wouldn’t you give it another year with fans in the stadium and experience it all properly? Unless he knows we’re bringing a striker in regardless.

Angry Cavani is the best Cavani. After his goal was disallowed he played the best I have seen from him this season. I do hope he stays one more year, as I'm not convinced we can afford a striker in the summer.

A few things I guess. They reckon he felt a little let down that no-one at the club backed him for the insta post, his family may be struggling settling into a Manchester/Cheshire lifestyle after years in Uruguay, Italy and France and feel it's not worth the resettlement pains for a short two year spell.

He's also had a stop start season which has likely been frustrating for him. Hopefully a cracking end to the season will sway him.

Surely if we can get him to stay a year then get first dibs on Haaland the following summer it would be a dream come true...

Oh to have a 25 year old Cavani in this side.
Privilege to watch him play for us.
His impact will be felt through the club down the years if Greenwood, Elanga et al and Rashford progress.
Deserves to play in the CL and I can see that as a reason to see him stay.

Huge performance and he learnt what it is today to be connected to Utd - for referees, pundits, the general public to hate you. The jealousy of our success. Today was massive. Hope he stays another season.

Have you been living under a rock mate - Haaland is being pimped around Europe's top clubs now. For United to sign Haaland now is a looooong shot, for us to sign him next summer, for a release clause fee, first in line, is not part of this world.

On topic: MOTM. Just edging it over Pogba. Both sensational in the 2nd half. Absolutely amazing these two today.

Yeah the ban was a total disgrace to be honest - Ole did back him publicly we just knew there was zero point contesting it with the FA. The pandemic has probably made it super tough for him and his family settling in - hopefully the better weather and more things opening up can convince him. Part of me does think maybe the intensity is contributing to his injuries and he’s thinking going to South America now could prolong his career.
