 People actually think he walked because of SL?
Yeah why not? Look at the timing - why else sack right before a final at the weekend? The SL announcement last night and Jose gone the next morning. You have to assume there is a link.

Wow mourinho sacked for refusing to go along with ESL idea.

Wow, I'm naturally sceptical of Twiiter rumours but if that's true then hats off to him. I was wondering earlier if any players might kick up a fuss or even hand in transfer requests if they care about the tradition or history of the game so if this has happened then fair play.

If I had to guess I'd say it probably didn't happen, or at least I won't believe it until I hear it from more sources. Hope it did!

Of course it is nonsense, this cnut cares for nothing but himself and his fat paycheck for sucking at his job.

He has never cared about any club's history or legacy, and he would not care about the ESL if it paid him big bucks.

He was fired for being shit.
He was 100% going this summer anyway - but the timing of this must be linked to SL in some way surely

Rumours that he was sacked for opposing ESL. Well it was probably the final nail in the coffin.

It might well have happened (the protest) but he was always on his way out.

He can now use this as "the reason" and spin it as a white Knight move. So jammy!

I'll wait till a real source reports it.

Will Ole do the same or will he prove that he's just happy to be here, once and for all?
It would make my heart happy and sad to see Ole simply resigning. Let's see what the players and staff does, they have to open their mouths eventually.

With Harry Kane wanting out this summer and Spurs broke he knows that he's on a hiding to nothing at WHL. He's thinking about his legacy.

Agreed. Surely he wouldn’t walk away from 30m though?
If he's essentially forced them to sack him then I'm sure he's going to get some kind of payout. I think lowly of Mou as a manager but it's illogical to think this is not to do with the ESL. Maybe he took a stand purely on principles, maybe he took a stand because he knew he was going to get sacked, maybe it's a mix but he took a stand in some capacity and that's what counts. He's also massively bothered about public perception so this is a way for him to be the 'good guy' again, whatever the reason he's a big name and it's a dent to the ESL immediately.

It’s funny but let him least play the final

I can’t believe people are actually falling for that fake tweet. Same lad said Newcastle were invited to the Super League yesterday and people fell for it too
To be fair they had me convinced Spurs were too

He was sacked for taking a stand against the ESL, refusing to take the players to the training ground. If anything he deserves your respect, despite what he did here.
What a great opportunity for him then. His time was as it was getting over. This earns him good PR and might earn another opportunity.

Obviously if it is true.

Hope he doesn’t have to resort to stealing to feed his children after this sacking. Thoughts are with him and his family at this difficult time.

I'm surprised they sacked him after a draw and a week before the cup final, but there's a perfect opening here for Jose to do some PR work.

fair play if he kicked off. Also it would just add more fuel to an already massive dumpster fire.

If the person wasn't called Jose Mourinho, yes there could have been a link. Surely by now you realize he's a completely self serving bastard?

It might well have happened (the protest) but he was always on his way out.

Exactly, can't believe people are falling for this.

Evergreen thread title.

Well done Spurs not wasting any more time with him.
