Dont like that Izzy hasn't finished him. But Izzy has always been about getting it done with the least amount of risk or damage to himself. Doesn't always look pretty, but it works.
Then again, Vetorri has offered anything whatsoever so why give him something to work with.
Totally mismatch, and shouldn't even have gotten this rematch.

Quite an ideal fight for Adesanya to get back on track with a win.

Plenty of octagon time. Dominant against a very average challenger. Barely any damage. Chance to show skills off his back and ability to scramble.

Murphy first who I don’t know why but I have a bad feeling about it. JoJo normally gets robbed in decisions against Americans. My money she beat, Calvillo and Chookagin if not for some shoddy judging.
@RedFish I called it. Can add Murphy to that list now. Shocking decision. Murphy won round 2 but that was it and no way was it a 10-8. Sure she had top control but she did feck all with it. JoJo clearly won 1st and 3rd. Judges are a joke.

The cult of Nate Diaz is one of the oddest things. Starting with the commentary, he got dominated for 24minutes pretty much and Rogan was lapping all of his shite up making out it's genius. It was ridiculously cringing to watch really. In fairness to the guy he has done well dining out on 1 big win in his career (similar to Masvidal) and that last minute is what people will remember but it's just all a bit weird to me. Even in this thread people giving some kind of excuses "If he just landed 1 more punch..." etc.

Vettori will probably rank as one of the worst title challengers ever I reckon, guy is awful and offers nothing. Really don't get these fighters who probably know they won't be getting a title shot any time soon and do that. I know it's easy to comment now but it really is just frustrating to watch.

Some thoughts:

JoJo was robbed.

Maia should think about stepping away.

Edwards managed to put on a clinic yet found a way to have the Diaz army change the narrative due to a brain fart in the final minute. Colby will get the next title shot.

Happy for Moreno, really good performance. Figueredo was all class.

Adesanya was cringe as usual but his post fight antics did make me laugh as Marvin was deluded

Ffs.
They've all caught on to the fact that ass licking Dana is basically putting their career on steroids. Tbf Helwani was actually the first to do it but he just couldn't resist asking some real questions from time to time.

Arrgh, why does JoJo start so slow? Had her winning 2-1 but she could have been more fluent and less hesitant in the pocket. She's done it plenty of times.

Maybe I'm not giving Murphy enough credit? Felt JoJo needed to fight like the underdog in this fight and take it away from Murphy. In the end the judges took it away from her in a close fight.

That Craig finish was insane. How tough is Hill? Absolutely crazy!

That should be Maia’s last UFC fight, but a great career and he is a bit of a legend here in Brazil.

Only Leon Edwards could dominate a fight for almost 5 rounds and still come out looking like a chump. He is unlucky and has no personality and that’s a bad combo in the UFC. As talented as he is, people won’t pay to watch him.

Moreno is the real deal. If you had asked me at the start of the year which fighter would be the last to lose their titles, I would have said Amanda/Shev, but then Fig on the men’s side. Moreno is incredible though and this was a great moment. Fig’s reaction just made him more likeable.

Main event was a bit of a dud. Vettori shouldn’t have been in there and Adesanya is insanely unlikeable. He has definitely lost some luster after Blac fight too. It was a bad move. I’m really hoping Whittaker can take the title off him with a different approach in their next fight.

You Are wrong about Edwards. He's had a pretty tragic life family wise and he happens to be an introvert. People want.perfectiom but Nate doesn't get slammed.for being outclassed for 99% of.the fight, and rightly so he's a brilliant entertainer.

Edwards though, put on a clinic for 4 1/2.rounds, played the percentages and won decisively.

Whilst he said it harshly, is he wrong?

Leon Edwards is a massively unlucky fighter.

The way he became the butt of the 3 piece and a soda line despite Masvidal being the dick in that exchange.

The way the Woodley fight fell through after everyone was complaining about his hiatus.

The way the Diaz fight ended. Sure, Edwards dominated but Diaz has a cult following and Dana loves him so whilst the narrative should be that Leon needs the title shot, instead the narrative was Nate could have won that if it was a real fight.

Add to that the fact that he generates little interest from the broader MMA audience due to his lack of "performance characterisation", and suddenly you have the recipe to not get the golden ticket from the UFC brass.

Colby was the same until he decided to become a cnut. And it worked.

Sad as it is, people need a reason to get invested in you and your character (unless you are utterly dominant), which is hard to do with Leon.

How does what any of what you said make me wrong? Being an introvert in a sport that is more and more driven by personalities is a massive disadvantage.

I am no Nate Diaz fan, he was thoroughly outclassed, but the ending to that fight will mean Colby challenges Usman next. It is, unfortunately, what will stick on people’s mind. That is the way the sport works today and why someone like Diaz makes a lot more money than an infinitely better fighter like Leon.

Nothinh wrong with what I said about either point.

Unfortunately fighters like Edwards tend to have the odds stacked against them in the UFC (especially by Dana), since they don't bring in many viewers which in turn makes it more difficult to market their fights. Woodley was in a similar category - great fighter during his absolute peak but boring personality who didn't really move the needles in terms of PPV buys.

Okay, if you are Dana and you're interested only in promoting the most exciting fighters, or those than generate interest, and thereby taking into account those than have that casual viewer magnetism, then yes Leon could do more. Or could he?

His character isn't boring, it's just not extrovert. He's a complex character, shy. Father shot and killed in drug related gang warfare in London.

He and is brother are professional fighters and one (Leon) is at the very top of the game. That emotion is bubbling away under the surface but rarely he lets it out in the open for an audience to witness. One of those moments was in the aftermath of the Ill fates Belal fight when he bursts into tears, questioning his Ill fortune.

I guess im response to @Maluco post I was irritated by the"he has no personality" jibe which is both unduly dismissive, presumptuous and plain ignorant. To real fight fans, it should be completely irrelevant in contrast to his skills in MMA.

Not saying character and personality aren't important for those that care to show it ( Holloway and others) but to suggest he's less interesting annoys me. If anything, his true and untampered persona makes him more real and more intriguing than the vast majority of attention seekers on the roster.

I was using personality in the context of his character and how he is presented in the promotion, only this. He could be the nicest guy in the world, but as outlined by other posters above, he has been made to look bad through a series of unfortunate events coupled with his lack of charisma.

I can guarantee that is how Dana feels because he has booked on that basis so many times in the past, and he will do it again now with Colby.

Ok. But in no way does Leon deserve to wait another 5-10 fights to get a title look in. It's a shambles. Leon deserves a title shot.

Oh I do, but it's a travesty. The fans deserve the fight too.
Edwards needs to win his next fight. Then in the post fight interview, say something like:

"Moreno, Bobby Knuckles and Max Holloway are fecking cnuts and anyone who likes them are bigger cnuts... Oh and Dana has a big cock"

That should do the trick.
