While I understand all the complaints,
I do think Saka is going to do well.

I don't get the refusal to play Bellingham. He is a first-teamer for a Champion's League level side, but Southgate doesn't consider him good enough to get in over Phillips or Rice.

Sterling seems to have an automatic first-team place based on nothing. It is good Saka is getting a game, but surely Sancho should be in the team.

Doesn't like none PL English players from the looks of it.

I think it's a good lineup from the manager.

Has clearly identified the lack of direct running around Kane as a problem.

He could have changed it up in midfield but if you look at it sensibly, Grealish has much more attacking tendencies than Mount. So actually, giving that front 4 complete license is not stupid.

At this point it looks like deliberate sabotage from Southgate. Like when mourinho picked mctominay at CB.
He has learned the square root of feck all from the last 2 games.
Two DMs AGAIN. Clueless cnut.

What's going on with Southgate not picking Sancho? No offence to Saka but Sancho is much better player on the right then him.

Getting to the stage now where you have to question why did Southgate even bother picking him in the squad altogether

Southgate is a clueless idiot. Saka starts ahead of Sancho? Sterling plays again despite being one of the worse players on the pitch in the previous game. 2 x hilding midfielders again. Sooner he gets the sack the better useless manager.

Let's be honest, we all knew Southgate was useless before a ball was kicked here. We just didn't know he was this bad. I can't wait for him to waste another year then fail at the WC, as well.

We might have a chance at Euro 2024 when we might have a decent coach in. Until then expect nothing but shite.

No he hasn’t, Sterling at least has a goal and a decent enough first game to his name. Foden has done nothing.
Sterling has been fecking gash both games let’s not beat around the bush.
He nearly fluffed his chance for the goal as well.
He should be nowhere near the first XI.
But as he’s a Southgate favourite he’ll start every fecking game.

My wit's end
I've watched more of Saka than I have of Sancho, so I may be mis-characterising Sancho here. But one thing that's immediately apparent is how hard Saka works when out of possession. Same is true for Mount.

Southgate obviously fancies the high press. It could be that Saka is in there to pick up the slack that Mount leaves behind.

Definitely a back 4? Wondering if he does Shaw LCB and Saka LWB, just for no apparent reason which would justify Saka > Sancho.

Think Saka will do well though tbf.

The goodwill that Foden has on this forum is cringeworthy - he’s been fecking rubbish yet people are defending him!

Happy to see Saka instead of him tbh.

I don't see how there's much between Foden and Sterling, neither have excelled at all. It's splitting hairs. However, if you are going for pace alongside Kane which is the probable logic it makes a lot of sense. It's probably not just based on a direct comparison, and even if it was they have both underperformed. I don't know what's going on with Sancho mind.

Southgate's obsession with Sterling will eventually cost England the tournament.

No
He has been rubbish, still better than sterling.
Nope. Sterling did well in the first game and more than the other two did in two games combined. Not that I think he should start. It should be Grealish /Rashford and Sancho
