Imagine the pressure... getting subbed on just for a penalty while hardly playing tbe whole tournament.

Then make it worse, he had to face a goalkeeper who doesnt dive early.

Well that will just do wonders for his already rock bottom confidence. He shouldn't have been brought on so late nor should Sancho.

He was put in a horrible predicament.

Hope he goes for his surgery.

Hope he comes back firing. We need him.

Can’t be fecking slating him for missing a penalty. I think the occasion might have gotten to him as he never does that stutter run up, usually so assured and puts his foot through it.

Blame the shite manager, not Rashford. As fans we'll back him and say feck England if he gets abuse!

Hopefully he's pumped for PL season and anger after loss will help him. Team clearly needs him 100% fit.

Agreed. When you bring on experienced heads for a pen I get that but putting on kids (I guess rashford is borderline) and expecting them to score is crazy amounts of pressure.

Anyone who criticizes him for the penalty is clueless. His decision to go to the Euros was understandable but not a good one.

Ya, that must suck. Manager has no confidence to start you and then puts you in for that kick after a few really uninspiring cameos? From being a nailed on starter in the qualifiers? It’s almost reverse psychology. He’s been really poor for ages though. Refocus and get fit again. He can still be one of the best but he needs to find the aggression and work rate again and take it from there.

Pretty sure most people who saw them coming on immediately proceeded to have the idea that they would miss their pens.

It’s like when he went through a period taking free kicks like Ronaldo. Now he’s trying to take penalties like Bruno.

He’s surely got enough behind him now not to still try and be a walking tribute act.

Seems for some England > United, having a go at him is just silly but its not surprising.

Devastated for him. I can't even imagine the abuse he's gonna be receiving now

Is it too much to hope him Sancho and Sakho do not get the expected abuse online tonight?

Hopefully Southgate will get the blame

Gutted he just didn't take some time to heal instead of this tournament. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I think I saw some England fans laughing when he missed, could be mistaken.

Rashford and Sancho should have had more minutes tonight before coming the shootout but that technique was terrible.

Wish he had stayed on the bench instead of being thrown to the wolves without so much of a kick during the tournament.

Not sure what he was thinking with the run up though, slow and straight towards the ball, harder to get it out of your feet like that.

Embarrassing night for him and his You Are a Champion book publisher. The worst kind of penalty to miss. Beat the keeper, then played his damn self.

He needs time off. I feel sorry for him, looks a broken man and shadow of the player he can be.
