F1 2021 Season

This F1 Season has really been entertaining, glad to see Lewis Hamilton maintaining that first place which Mercedes really need with Bottas out of the race. As for Red Bull, it is what it is, their embarrassing behaviour has certainly caught up with them this season though.

No matter who you support having 2 drivers competing week in week out has certainly benefited the sport. Been the best season in a long time and has already gave us some great racing and controversial moments which is what we want!

Can’t believe Max hasn’t got suspension damage, Norris impact was massive on his rear right.

But that's not the case at the moment.

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but Hamilton and Bottas drive the exact same car right? Do they intentionally put 1 good and 1 bad driver in all these teams? This start makes it questionable whether Bottas even has a drivers license.

Well that is one way to really piss Redbull off. I can't wait for them to start whinging that Bottas took them out on purpose

It’s bad luck but it’s also part and parcel of it. I’m sure there are plenty of times Hamilton has been taken out. And an element of it is also that this is part of the benefit of qualifying first. If Max qualifies first, he avoids the collision. Hard luck yes but can’t start knocking other drivers (except Bottas and Stroll who are morons!
It's not a knock on Hamilton, he started P1 which is good and he's had a good start but he's just very lucky Max gets taken out. It's sad really how the season gets decided by two crashes in a row. There's no way they can repair Max's car with all the damage on the right side. You can fix a front wing or something but you can't fix this. Max will be lucky to make top 10.

Three crashes. Also the puncture.

I mean let’s be real... he is unlucky to get caught in that mess. Yes, there is an argument to say if he had qualified first he would not be in that situation. But it’s possible to say that Max is unlucky without also making the conclusion that Hamilton is lucky.

Typical binary mindset.

Hamiton on his way to 8th with ramming Max out with his and co-drivers car. Impeccable tactics

Oh boring the sun is coming out, we want more rain

Hope we get a shock podium and Russell does get some disaster hit him so he finally scores points

So you are saying Max is unlucky?

Despite a red flag chance to repair?
How can you say he isn't? You actually think his car will be 100% after the red flag? And even if they manage to pull off a miracle repair, he's 13th after he was second when he got taken out. He had a good start and is the victim of Bottas' stupidity. He did nothing wrong. Of course he's unlucky.

F1 needs more competition. Would be great if Ferrari can start competing with Red Bull & Mercedes.

No. It just Bottas is not the same quality driver as Lewis/Max, never will be. Many argue Merc should put Russel next to Lewis from next year or should have been this year also.

I think we almost all do. I have Ferrari rather than Leclerc though so 1 still in the game.
I'd been doing well with Lando + McLaren for 2-3 races now, then with Ferrari looking stronger here I changed to Leclerc + Ferrari. So yeah at least have Ferrari but I will only score driver points from Verstappen if he manages to get back in there.

They’re talking about max getting 2nd. All well and good, but that’s assuming his car is in a decent condition.

Good repairs on Max but he’s going to be without a big part of the floor.

Hamilton cheating within the rules again, by accelerating away from the crash so he didn't get hit.

As per usual, Lewis Hamilton the stand out lucky bastard!

I completely get that Max is unlucky. But why does that by default make Lewis lucky? He qualified first, he made a great start, which both in combination meant he was ahead and in the best place to avoid collisions. Max is unlucky 100% and to the extent that gives Hamilton a gain in the championship, it benefits Lewis. But there is a reason beyond luck as to why Hamilton came out of that unscathed.
