Why not just quote the actual fee though rather than bumping it up to £78m?

Makes zero sense
It's called not remembering off the top of my head. Also it is around £78m after add-ons, so i wasn't miles away. you're acting like I was about £20m out from the reported fee.

So you just made a more expensive fee up as you couldn't remember the correct one. Makes perfect sense now. Just call it £80m to round it up. Easier to remember anyway.

How do you know whether he is "chomping at the bit" or not? It's just an assumption based on nothing other than him not cutting his holiday short. It's a crazy reach.
I don't know for sure but it's hardly a crazy reach. When you're the last back to training, having played a lot less football than the other guys, it doesn't scream somebody desperate to get started.

We'll soon see anywayhow he is, if it does or doesn't affect us.

Sorry i'm taken babe x
Yes you enjoy watching fox porn I know.

All this passive aggression/sexual frustration. Calling me a 'big man'. It's quite disgusting frankly and I'll be letting the key mods know about your predatory behaviour (and lack of basic mathematics).

Fook me, this place is mental.

Everyone wants us to have a months pre season with all the players fit and chomping at the bit. It's not as if United have said you can all come back when you want!!

Last season and this have had different obstacles that there obviously isn't a clear cut right approach. Every club in the league has been firefighting logistically!

How on earth do you balance, being match fit for the first game, being mentally ready to LAST the season, a variety of Covid issues and several summer international tournaments...

People are already questioning his mentality (and weight issues!) based off taking up his allocated holidays!! Get a grip you absolute melons...
Honestly you're making it seem like we're asking him to go to war in Afghanistan. Its a pre-season training camp in Scotland ffs where the team have been training and team bonding by playing rounds of golf. There is absolutely zero pressure placed on him. If he's not mentally ready for the first game he should have a quiet word with Ole. However you would think by now Jadon would be keen to meet his new teammates, whether he's used up his holidays or not.

Of course it's a crazy reach you're literally making assumptions based on your reaction to him not cutting his holiday short.
I'm sure he will value a few extra days with his family/friends over 3 days playing volleyball & piggy in the middle with the lads, he hasn't suddenly turned into a potato in a few weeks, and he was never going to play a huge part against Leeds anyway.

So precisely what is the issue other than fans throwing their toys out that their new shiny toy isn't doing what they want him to do?

I'm a firm believer in holidays but if I know I'm to deliver a massive company meeting on a certain date, I certainly wouldn't be coming back from holiday and turning my laptop on the night before said meeting, let's put it this way.

I guess footballers have the option of ruling themselves out the game if they 'feel unfit', whereas I don't have that option to cancel a meeting if I don't feel 'up for it'.

It's difficult for a non-footballer to sympathise, I guess.

What add ons?
Christ not another one.

I got the fee wrong. Why are people so obsessed with transfer fees being exact? I knew it was somewhere between 70-80 and i mistakingly thought it was the higher end. I haven't stomped a puppy to death.

You make it sound like I was over-reacting!

It's almost as if the club is treating the first two league matches as warm up games. A joke.

Solskjaer and the club need to start putting their foot down here.

there's no excuse for him

From your previous posts...

He's allowed a holiday!! It's not that hard a concept to grasp imo.

The lack of humanity displayed on the caf lately is staggering.

For everyone complaining, please let us know the next time you book vacation time so we can harass you about getting back to work early.

Keep seeing this.

I bet Pogba, Bruno, Lindelof, Maguire and Shaw start. All guys who played more than Sancho over the summer. So why wouldn't Sancho have started had he returned when they did?

There's no throwing of toys here, it would just be really handy if our new £75 million signing had started training when everyone else did so he's an option for a very tough opening game.

Hopefully we beat Leeds and all this is irrelevant. Looking at our potential starting XI it looks a bit one paced to me. Not much threat in behind.

Well well well, people already turning on him. Typical Redcafe.
cause he’s enjoying his holiday as well. As if people on redcafe cut their annual leave short “because they’re itching to get going at their jobs”. Madness

We're talking about a few days in Scotland with a bunch of other blokes, in lovely surroundings. Some training, some golf, plenty of fun downtime I'm guessing.

I mean if somebody offered me that right now after two years without a holiday I'd snap their hand off.

He is entitled to his holiday. If i were Shaw and Maguire, i would have taken it as well. Time for the squad players to step up

It's still work. Footballers are employees like anyone else and have certain entitlements when it comes to leave. It's unfair to expect someone to cut their leave short.

He has every right to his full holiday but like Maguire and Shaw, he can come back early, his choice, no one is forcing him to stay on the beach. Grealish signed yesterday with City and is already training with the squad. I'm also pretty sure he would be training whether asked or not.

He's going to have anywhere between 60-80-odd games to play for us, the season opener doesn't decide a season.

Our potential starting XI isn't going to be much different from the last time we played Leeds, actually it's stronger since we have Martial & Pogba back.
My guess is that the back 4 is pretty set, McFred midfield, Bruno, Pogba LW, Greenwood RW & Martial upfront - it's hardly a disaster.

How many of us are professional footballers? Let’s not pretend this is anything like a normal persons job.

A defeat in the first fixture would be a nightmare.

I doubt it. We won't run him into the ground like that given the options we have out wide.

I'm surprised you think Maguire and Shaw will play given you believe Sancho was never thought of as a starter for this one. Both played a lot more games than him last season.

You're right though it's not a disaster.

But without Rashford and Sancho it looks to me we'll be playing all our football in front of them rather than behind. Hopefully Leeds go full kamikaze as they did in the last game at OT.

If the current crop of guys can't beat Leeds at OT then we should prepare to battle for 4th instead of thinking we can keep pace with City.
Maybe but we all know this is the time of year when even the best teams can get caught out. Crystal Palace were shite last season but they caught us cold. You have to rely on your star players being ready!

That's EXACTLY why it's daft to criticise players for not coming back early. They're not moaning that he's late, just not early... It's not a normal job, he's allowed a holiday.

That's not how football works... Even City struggled at the start of last season. I'm not sure it's as manic this summer but expect some teething issues from sides. Hopefully we can get the results in while we're tuning up as well. But none of the openers are bankers imo...

I know you think you’re making a salient point here
I don’t get why people pretend to understand what it’s like. I can’t imagine it’s that much to ask to end a holiday by a couple days to go play. football. Hardly the same as sitting in an office doing depressing work.

You're severely underestimating Leeds - the started last season with a bang by way of their press and threatening play. City were fortunate with a couple handballs to scrape by, and Leeds were probably the better team. Leeds tend to run out of fuel midway in the season but they are most dangerous at in the opening fixtures.

In talent sure, but both these players can be an engima against energetic sides.

Everybody is different. That is why management is not easy. And it looks like man management is Ole's stronger suit. So trust him to manage Sancho.

I wish Sancho was here too, but I would much rather a refreshed Sancho raring to go than one forced to cut holiday (forced by club or peer pressure).

The bottomline is we have no idea about how Sancho is mentally and physically. This is useless speculation. Trust the club/Ole.

Because he’s a footballer it’s not that much to ask him to end is annual leave early? Is this honestly your argument/reasoning?
