who do you feckin think ?
I am surprised nobody mentioned Pogba failure to close down for Leeds goal.

The only flaw in almost perfect game for him.
Noticed this at the time, but forgot it by the end:drool: .

While on the negative, 49% possession though, wtf Ole

Fantastic performance throughout the team. Only sub 7 performer for me was Dan James and he wasn't awful, his runs stretched the Leeds defence. Lindelof's pass for Bruno's hat trick was sublime.

Really good to see the Leeds fans silenced, after many of them performed Munich aeroplane gestures throughout the match. The worst culprit was an obnoxious b*stard in a blue top, five or six rows from the front of their section.

Was absolutely beautiful to be in the Stretford End to see that amazing performance. The whole stadium was roaring with noise and the lads did not dissapoint us. Great start!!

What a day! Old Trafford was rocking.

The team was purring at times, with Fernandes, Pogba and Greenwood looking great in an outstanding display. Pogba's vision, Bruno's finishing and the youthful exuberance of Greenwood was a joy to experience. He looks a lot faster in the flesh than I thought after watching him on TV during the lockdown.

Great day all around after such a long wait.

Great game especially against Leeds and at a full capacity crowd finally. Someone mentioned about Pogba failure to close down prior to Leeds goal but that forgivable when you contributed 4 goals. Hope more from Pogba and not just the occasional sparks.

Common Norwich. Let's the good night continues :devil:

Great day, amazing result but one negative for me - Dan James.

Hes so bad its painful to watch. Needless offsides, running into defenders, out of the stadium crosses, hopeless shots on goal, tripping over in tight spaces and the trademark, nervous smile over to his colleagues after he does the above.

I feel bad for the kid as I'm sure he's a lovely guy, but he should be nowhere near the United squad.

It's going to be great season of fabulous football.

- Pogba brilliant
- Bruno back to his best after a good rest. I was very happy when Portugal were knocked out early so he would get a rest.
- Love Maguire's runs forward, he'll cause a lot of problems
- That finish from Greenwood was so hard with the run, the pressure and the angle.
- It's early but Sancho knows when to keep things simple and when to use his moves. Great sign of things to come.
- McT very good, I think Leeds to decided to mark Fred tight and make McT play the ball

I love seeing the fans. I hope the U.S.A. learns from England that the delta variant is not that big of a threat to life and society must remain open and let people live their lives as they see fit. (sorry to get political but I can see some people here shutting down crowds for sports)
Please don’t spout this ignorance. This mindset threatens a lot of people who are immunocompromised.

A joy to watch this morning. Brilliant goals with wonderful assists.

Shame we conceded a goal but gotta admit it was a banger.

Feels good being able to look forward to this team playing again.

He’ll play less as the season goes on, barring injuries. Ole is looking to use his squad and manage fatigue, it’s a problem when you need your best team in most games, but James is nowhere near Ole’s best team. He’ll play against lower quality opposition and in early round cup games but he’s absolutely behind every other attacking player in the pecking order.

I think about three players could have closed down sooner. Bad all around to let a free strike.

Just shows what we can do when we pass forward at pace and not tippy tapping sideways to build up passing stats like Guardiola does.
I’d say what Greenwood is doing is a bit ridiculous, it’s just his technique it’s so effortless and fluid. Bruno there running on to it and finishing, I don’t really think is that hard, each to their own.
Rashford and Greenwood are two incredible youngsters to have. So much potential. Greenwood could be a World-Star, he's unique. His goal was difficult.. he had to make the run, and then travel, some way, under pressure, keep composed, and then find the only spot where he could finish.

And what is special, is that I was not in any way surprised when he did exactly what he did.

That was magnificent, highlight of the game for me, the pass and that finish. Cavani is perfect for him to learn his craft. A wonderful, wonderful young player. Love watching him.

When Rashford is fit I have no idea how Martial plays. Ever. Ole should cash in.

You forgot to mention Sancho...who is younger than Rashford and left out of your post re incredible attacking youngsters (not having a go!!!)

So excited about the squad but having Cavani in the squad is huge as we do lack big game experience with those three.

Even if we got Haaland he still lacks big game experience...although with Haaland, Sancho, Greenwood and Rashford I wouldn't be too worried about a goal threat

"When Fred scores goals we know everyone can score goals"
:D :D :D
That was funny. Made me think Fred definitely has some thick skin because everyone seems to take a jibe at his goals and shots.

It’s just beautiful to hear the fan’s roar after the ball hits the net. It was really missing last season. Fans elevate the game make it more entertaining. Great game today!

I think it was tactical by Ole to play him today. We have Rashford injured and Martial coming back from an injury and Sancho who is a new player. James did a lot of running around and that gives his team mates space to operate. He also I noticed was hanging back when we take the corners and put in a very good tackle to stop a dangerous counter attack.

It feels incredible to wake up to this scoreline for our first PL match. I thought it would be a lot closer with us snatching the win but we blew them out of the water again, this time in front of a full stadium since the 19/20 manchester derby.

I'm getting giddy and bullish for our matches again.
Agreed, it's making me regret not waking up at 430 to watch live! :D

Ah.. the match when scoreline didn't reflect actual game? Completely different vibes. Chelsea were playing great in that game, they just unlucky not to score 2 or 3 more goals.

We dominated Leeds from every corner today.
Ya I agree, the Chelsea result was more of a fluke, today felt more solid but I guess we shall see in the coming games.

Incredible atmosphere, it all got pretty emotional for me pre-match, and not just because I was near the top of The Stretty!

Great to be back at OT with a bang!

Pogba was imperious. Bruno clinical.

Get in there boys!!

He's just a regular bloke. Not an oversensitive soft twat.

The best part of the day for me was the atmosphere. Scoring goals in front of the fans is something else. OT was electric.

Pogba was from another planet. The only frustrating part was James wasting chances. He's going to lose his spot to Sancho, but the rest of the team made a strong case to be starting the next game.

Thought we were excellent in the large. There's still some thing to be addressed but it's as good a start to a season as you can wish for.

I thought Pogba was actually pretty average assist aside in the first half, and could have been more awake to danger in the build up to their goal (despite what a great strike it was). Everything he did after that was class.

All round quality told, Lindelof's assist was quality, Mason looked sharp, Sancho put in a good cameo and McTominey was very good for the hour he was on. A good day at the office.

I've really missed seeing the Sikh dudes in the crowd, brought a smile to my face seeing them again today.
