I’m taking that Rio tweet to mean he’s signing with us. Believe.

He was just using United to get to a bigger club. He never gave much of a shit about United, he just had a bond with SAF. You don't love a company because you love your boss.

He should go to City, it'll stop all the "United Legend" rubbish you read about. His legend is all built in Madrid.

He can go, feck him. People will hopefully stop counting him as one of our own and especially the bloody United clowns that run our social media.

There's only one United!
What makes him a weirdo in your eyes?
If he's going to City (after having been moulded by United and SAF) then he can't undersatnd what is right in this world and what makes you a man of integrity.
It's useless being Maradona and being a shite character - Pele on the other hand was always a gentleman not only a great player.
So yes he's a weirdo, traitor, twat etc etc etc.

Penaldo has managed to get the attention he was missing after 3 useless years at Juve. After watching Messi, Mbappe all getting top moves, he desparetly wanted something to attract media attention.

Hopefully pisses people off enough to protest Glazers again - that's the positive spin on things.

Yes being pointlessly angry at people who are not going anywhere and couldn't care less what we think is really going to cheer us up

Ronaldo is a dick. Has always been one, and if he joins City he'll just be a bigger one. I also think he's a weirdo of the highest order. Ship has sailed. Have never wanted him back here personally.
Dicks don't suddenly grow bigger mate, I thought all men know that.

To be serious though, if he goes to City he can feck off. I mean, even if he ends up at United he can feck off.

I do believe we have been approached about the move, but that we will have rejected it for whatever reason (wages too high, other investment focus etc.)

If he has no intention to stay at Juve, then City really was his only option. PSG signing all those freebies would have bumped their wage budget significantly, so adding another 500k a week would never sit well.

Can't blame him for choosing city because of the above, but means he has well and truly ruined his legacy here.

Yeah, pretty much this. He had his time at United and he did great for us, but we were always a stepping stone and he gave his best years to Madrid.

Going to City would just re-affirm this, it's a scumbag move but I doubt he will give even one shit never mind two.

These are the types of signings we want City to make in fairness, older, expensive and past their peak players. The United connection is the only reason this is generating so much news and judging by the reactions on here, very few seem that bothered given he is nowhere near the player he was a few years ago & he was never really planning on staying at United.
Exactly this.

City are having a similar transfer window to the ones we used to have pre Ole where we got heavily criticised. Slow getting business done, overpaying for players, chasing unrealistic targets (Kane), knee-jerk last minute ageing galactico signings. Thank feck we've moved on from that.

Unfortunately it would be a simple case of feeding his EGO is more important then having integrity, what a shame if it does happen ...

I wish him well, there is no loyalty in football I love United but watching city will be fun, I can see Grealish and Ronaldo having a snog over a glass of wine.

Don’t understand people saying this is the type of signing we want city to make. Not only the 30+ goals he brings but also the brand he brings makes city a much bigger club with him being there.

This is absolutely a big deal and not offering him what he wants will bite us in the long run

While I do agree with this - I think we can still celebrate a player who was instrumental in United's most successful period ever and he won the Ballon d'or at United.

He's not a legend like Cantona but it was bloody brilliant watching Ronaldo in his last 3 years at United.

What single man in his twenties pays a woman to be a surrogate?
A smart man, that’s who. A man that doesn’t want to lose half of his net worth to divorce & child support payments, and only get 50/50 time with his kids (if he’s lucky). It’s 100% what I would do if I was wealthy, the system is entirely rigged against men so I think we’ll start seeing this happen a lot more.

Yeah but the love clearly isn't reciprocated, he's not arsed about the adoration from our fanbase. If he was even slightly concerned about it he'd never entertain going to a direct rival.

Even if the move falls through (which I doubt), I'll never have the same love for Ronaldo after this. Don't think he cares but his legacy is severely tarnished at United.

Hopefully. I think this, in combination with no new CM coming in, and potentially points being dropped in the coming weeks / months will do it.

Sure wish more players would use us as a springboard onto bigger clubs by winning the balon d'or and champions league!

Interesting one from Rio.
Can surely only mean Ronaldo isn't going to City.

Not to bring up the one who should not be named in this thread, but there’s a guy who played for Barcelona who would never consider going to one of the Madrid clubs. The situations are not exactly equivalent but it’s worth mentioning.
