Horrific performance. Wan Bissaka is garbage, but the red card can't be used as an excuse for the pathetic performance after. Pogba?? What the feck was that game from him? Constantly lost the ball. Shaw jogging around all game. No plan and no composure for how to play with 10 men. Actually embarrassingly bad. And then gifting them a winner at the end... ffs.

I don't think the same thing will happen as last season, I'm sure we'll go through as we can't be that bad again. But that was brutal.
AWB sending off didn't help, but you can still win a game if you make the right decisions after that. Ole made some absolute whoppers. We got what we deserved.

Bored of the cafe these days. Really, really feckin bored. A game we looked like winning easily until an unfortunate tackle cost us a win and a bad back pass cost us a draw.

Yet again though a number of posters will just have to completely avoid the place for days until all the angry kids get it out of their system. Get a grip FFS
Let me ask you, do you think City, Chelsea or Liverpool would have failed to get a touch of the ball the whole 2nd half?

Chelsea did a far far far better job at Anfield with 10 men than we could muster up against the whipping boys of the group.

AWB is an idiot. Our ball retention is pathetic. The subs were bizarre.

Which game were you watching? We weren't certainly winning comfortably. The only other chance we had was a counter against the mighty Young Boys. Those are the two shot we managed in 90 min.

Red card or not we were awful. A lot of teams have played with 10 men. We stopped playing and started wasting time.

We had it in hand at the Wankdorf but let it spill onto the pitch.

Individual brain farts mixed with us having no interest in learning how to keep possession = losing to a tier 3 club
Luckily we'll still qualify given how poor the group is.
I can totally see this comment coming back to haunt you.

Here comes the Ole Out brigade.

Clearly, the AWB tackle was Ole’s fault. The deflected goal was Ole’s too, cause he went to a back 3 and brought Varane on. The bad pass by Lingard was his fault, too. The two shots on goal was his fault because he wasn’t aggressive enough at 1-0 on the road in the CL.

Pathetic “fans”. Ole played his hand with the cards he had.

we went down to 10 against a Swiss team not prime barca.. or response in that second half is just not good enough for a supposed elite club

7 defeats in 11 CL games under Ole. People have every right to be frustrated. We can’t all be non emotional super fans like you!

More lika Deja vu, he lost his last game at YB too, 1-2 with Juventus.

People in here acting like YB are a beer league team, while Ole apparently saw them at peak Barca level.
I think the truth is somewhere in between. They'll cause trouble for Atalanta and Villareal too.
Even before the match people were sleeping on YB. Big mistake.

I always say we should not try to pass back to de Gea….Jesse obviously took that literally.

We played on astroturf which clearly showed. Nobody performed to their levels. We will destroy these at OT

Looks like we’ll need to win all of our home games to have a chance of qualifying.

poor performance, in control before 10 men but still not great. so many luxury players in the line up now that we just didn't have the fight to play with ten men.

poor from ole not to be able to control the match, poor from pogba in particular on the bench but nobody was great apart from maguire, poor from the club & ole that we couldn't sign a cm that can control the ball this summer, and it hurt us today.

hopefully we can get the rub of the green when we need it and the group can still be straight forward

I get bringing on Dalot but not Varane too. Not cause Varane but cause it was too defensive even though we were man down. And even with those subs I didn't expect us to be so dominated. We barely approached their box, let alone created a chance. 2 home games now to fix this but it was brutal.

Truly awful way to lose a match from a gift in the 5th minute of injury time. Turning point the red card but still should have managed the game better against such a mediocre side.

Speaking of mediocre tonight highlighted a number of those United players are that and how Lingard, Dalot are still at the club and playing in the CL remains a mystery.

Main question now is how damaging that defeat will be. The away result in Istanbul last year proved to be the match that cost United a place in knock out stages and forced to play in that awful Europa league competition.

It’s 100% AWB fault we are down to 10 men
it‘s 100% Ole fault with all the stupid subs and park the bus approach
it‘s 100% Lingard fault on losing the final goal which loss us the match

He’ll play upon, Your naturalistic intuitions…
When you’re down to ten men with a lot of time to play, it’s imperative that you maintain possession and a threat at the other end.

We gave up both with the substitutions and effectively tried to see the game out with 55 minutes to go. That was all the encouragement that Young Boys needed.

It’s a terrible performance all round. We got exactly what we deserved.

Having a poor result in the CL is probably best on matchday 1, at least we have 5 games to correct it and regroup. It's not an ideal start and a disappointing result and performance but ultimately it's still easily recoverable. Personally, I'd rather Ole just play our strongest 11 possible each match then try to be cute and rotate. I really don't want another season of fecking Europa League football.

Either way, think we'll win comfortable against Villarreal next and that will give us a good confidence boost.

Disaster of a night. Sending off a massive issue, but handled the game poorly. Martial and Jesse on when we were trying to play the ball up high was baffling, Jesses mistake then cost us.

Mentality is a big issue in this squad. The decision making of Wan Bissaka to go flying in, and of Lingard to not play safe so deep into stoppage time, shows a team that lose their composure under pressure. We've seen it with this team: When we went top of the table last season, away in Leipzig and Istanbul. There's a weakness in this team that leads to stupid mistakes.

He parked the fecking bus for an hour against Young Boys ffs!

Cowardly and pathetic tactics cost us after the sending off.

Ole just didn’t know what to do once we went down to 10. Did well to almost salvage a point.

Can't believe Ole. Sending on Lingard and instructing him to make a stupid bypass?!

Useless manager.
It's a shocker isn't it.
Imagine being so thick that in the last minute having been battered for an hour with 10 men, you blindly play a backpass thats not even close to being near the keeper.
He didn't even have his eyes open.
Jesse could have no complaints if Ole slapped him into next week for that.

The Europa League final showed we're a million miles away from being a top side in Europe. Sticking Ronaldo up front is only going to help so much.

Poor really even with the red card. Ole sent every defensive player he had because he knows we can't keep possession. A squad full of top players should be able to keep the ball and keep the result, but we ended up inviting pressure which led to the goal/mistake. The coaching team don't know what to do whenever challenged.

How can you say a manager can do nothing with 10 men.

Chelsea drew with Pool playing with a man down for a whole half literally a few weeks ago and we're supposed to believe it is inevitable that we're going to bottle this game?

I'm so tired of my team failing in the CL against mediocre teams. Another season of EL football is a sackable offense.
I agree, we try so hard every season to get champions league football only for us to get slapped by the worst team.

Agreed, unprofessional on so many fronts. We are immediately under pressure now. If we end up third or fourth with this squad and in this group, it will be totally unacceptable. Huge games ahead.

How many defensive players on the field for us at the end and we concede like that! The minute the red card happened ole shit the bed. Did he really think his substitutions made sense?Fair enough if it was 10 minutes to go . We had no outlet and the best part of an hour of them knocking at the door finely paid off with Jesse's worldy blind hit through ball. I'm not even that disappointed or surprised. The blokes cowardice and conservative first approach will be his undoing sooner rather than later.

Pathetic display from AWB. Ruined any chance at the team playing well. Then instead of having a manager who can galvanize the team and get them to play well with 10 man (like we saw for Chelsea) we have Ole who compounds the issues and haves us sit back with players who aren't capable of doing so. Then he makes arguably the worst set of substitutions most of which contradict each other. Thought Ole deserved the season to see if he could finally win, but not anymore. Want him gone quicker than Lingard.
