Exactly, even Alonso knows the unlapping was done too late, to get a real race lap in.
Also

There was clearly time to do it sooner and that was the only thing they did wrong that they didn't do it sooner. But in any case we will got that final lap and it was always going to happen and the result would be the same.

Also no one mentioned that 5 cars that were let go by were cars fighting for the points (ended from 7 to 11) and blue flagging them (like they did with Stroll) for whole lap would have affect on their finish and points tally., Every other car that wasn't allowed to unlap was from 12 and lower.

They have to get confirmation I guess that the track is clear of debris and stewards to let them pass

I dont get why people like you have this level of denial, even with your stonking bias. Why does it offend you so much to have this narrative disrupted anyway?

The lap times and speed traps dont lie, so why keep clinging to a dead narrative?
Why do you keep quoting me? I'm not interested in your transparent wumming.

A quick google finds plenty of articles saying exactly the same things I have about their relative pace, from people who have actually bothered to look at the data.

Are they all wumming as well? Would it hurt you to try to educate yourself a bit about a sport you seem heavily invested in, rather than play a fool all the time?

Definitely. My honest opinion without any trolling is the best described in the video bellow.

Basically they botched it and should have taken decision earlier but presure of the last race and presure from Toto and Horner in a crucial moments created perfect storm. Because of that Masi reacted to slow and created controversy which never should be created.
But if the right decision would be called at the right time the final result would be the same. But on the other hand it was wrong decision even if they can justify it within the rule book and I can understand the frustration from Mercedes, Hamilton and fans, just not the ones who call it fixing, and that Max was given championship.

If Masi stays or leaves they definitely have to change to one line from race director to teams only and have to cut off FIA radio for the fans. This was second mistake in last 2 races which evolved from team boss calling race director on the radio.

And I think I am done with 2021 thread with this post.

I'd tell you how to, but apparently giving you simple clear information is wumming, and I don't want to upset you.

If they botched it, then they botched it. You can't break the rules live on TV to unbotch it. That's even worse than botching it.

And I don't even think it was botched. It was unsafe to release the lapped cars any earlier than he did. The right outcome would be to end the race on the safety car. If that was bad TV, ok fine, he also had the option of 1 lap of racing without unlapping the cars, it would have created no controversy as per the rules. He also had the option to red flag and restart.

So many...options.

Hamilton got screwed. There really is no alternative opinion cause that's not an opinion, it's a fact.

What might be debated is who between Verstappen or Hamilton deserved the title more, how bad of a feck up was it by the race director, etc. But Hamilton got screwed.
I don’t really understand how it works besides whoever gets the most points wins.

last time I remember hearing about it Hamilton had points deducted and was more or less out of it? But granted that was from someone who also doesn’t understand it much.

What happened today? I’ve seen tweets and read but it might as well be a foreign language. We’re they driving behind safety drivers and then the message to drive fast and race wasn’t given to some racers including Hamilton or their was a delay?

Verstappen had pitted for fresh tyres behind the safety car but Hamilton couldn't because he would have dropped behind Verstappen and there was no guarantee at that point of any more racing, so to do so would have handed the title to Verstappen. The race director then ignored the regulations because he didn't want the race to finish behind the safety car. He allowed only the lapped cars between Hamilton and Verstappen to un-lap themselves, which resulted in Verstappen sitting right behind Hamilton on far better tyres and leaving Hamilton effectively a sitting duck. If they'd stuck to the regulations, either all of the lapped cars would have been let through which would have taken more time and the race would have ended behind the safety car resulting in Hamilton winning, or they wouldn't have let any of the lapped cars through which would have meant 5 cars between Hamilton and Verstappen which would have given Hamilton at least some chance of holding Verstappen off. The issue is that the race director ignored the regulations and made a decision that has zero precedent in 70+ years of F1 which effectively handed the title to one of the drivers.

Infantile WUM as always, fortunately I have the answer now, so I don't have to deal with your nonsense trolling anymore.

All the best at nursery!

Everyone saw what happened. Red Bull and Verstappen have their title, and they'll get to keep it, but it will remain a tainted title for the rest of your days Marko.
Doubt if they will see it as 'tainted'. The mantra within RB has always been the 'we do whatever it takes to win' or the 'means justify the ends' approach.
So they may see that all that pressuring on Masi till Masi's brain broke as 'justifiable'.

To be honest I don't care too much. People working inside Red Bull are long gone anyway. I'm talking about how it will be remembered in motorsport folklore and RB and this generation of 1 season fans will have no bearing on that.

I think you mean “the ends justify the means”.

Thanks for the explanation… I’ll probably never fully understand how badly Hamilton got screwed compared to those that follow F1 but even to me it does sound bad.
