Delighted with the appointment, but I should feel more positive than I do! And that's no reflection on Ten Hag - its the ridiculous mess of a club he's stepping into. Maybe we are finally making smart decisions. But I still have sickening concerns about the people and structure around him. We need to back him and give him the power he should have. How can he work with Darren Fletcher as technical director? The guy is shouting from the bench and also making (or helping make) decisions like who is the next manager! He has zero credentials. Anyway, I need to try and be positive, delighted with Ten Hag, so I just have to hope that the mess around him can be sorted. Tear up the squad rebuild the team entirely.

Shame we can't get him in for Saturday. Let the players know the assessment has begun and they'll be dropped if they do not perform and they can advise their agent to find them another club in the summer.
Guy has my full 100% backing, even if results aren't that great if he's getting players to put in a shift on a weekly basis that's a massive upgrade on what we've been served up this season.

I really hope Erik Ten Hag can finish his time with Ajax on title winning. Things are clarified and officially announced, so now he can focus and put all his efforts to win last 5 games with Ajax. At least 4 winning guarantee the champion no matter how PSV performs.

My first choice so I'm very happy. Been very impressed with his Ajax team whenever I've seen them, and even more so when you consider how many players he's lost over the years.

Definitely think he's got what it takes to be successful here, but it's going to take time. We are an absolute mess at the moment, and that's not something you fix over night. I think that Liverpool when Klopp took over is a good comparison to where we are now, and it took Klopp nearly 3 years before he had built a team capable of challenging for the league.

LvG came close but that was based on what he had done early in his career (Ajax, promoting youth at Barca & BM).

If this doesn't work out then I'll probably give up any hope of us coming good again.

Moyes was right to go on holiday and Ten Hag would be sensible to have a break too. He can’t just lock his office in Amsterdam and start in his new one in Manchester the next day. He needs to have a break.

Moyes' case is inexcusable. Nobody expect the new manager to come and lock himself in his office for the whole summer. He at least should be in contact with the people working on transfer, getting to know the training facility a bit so he can brainstorm training plan, idea whenever he can. In a sense, manager never really have total disconnected from work break like Moyes did. Someone like Mourinho keep in touch with his players. Even some of the more dedicated players do lighter exercise during their break to keep themselves in shape.

I think the club realised that after the horrendous performance/result 2 days ago, they had to announce something to boost the morale of the fans.
Also, for 48 hours, the media has been negative towards MUFC, so it makes sense to announce this now, so there is something positive relating to the club.
I'm not sure what the club will do if we lose to AFC in a few days.

Yeah makes sense from a PR perspective, but I think it's clear Ajax and ETH wanted to wait out the cup final at least.

Absolutely the right appointment. He has a huge task on his hands and there are no guarantees of trophies because the competition is extremely tough, but I have no doubt we will improve ten fold with him at the helm.

Great appointment, he plays attacking fast flowing football and has a philosophy that encourages this, he use of youth players is also very exciting and fits right in with our beliefs.

Everyone who wants to stay at the club is on notice now, and hopefully everyone who wants to leave is gone very early in the window in order for Ten Hag to know what he is working with and where he needs to add this window.

I think we won't be as hopeless as everyone seems to think, even from the next season. We haven't spend a penny in winter and there will be some money to spend, especially with the new manager coming. I'd say as much as 120-150 million at least, granted we are letting go some players and their huge wages. From the next season I can see squad refreshment in the following fashion:

• 3 quality starters for us (transfer budget)
• 1 smart buy from Ajax (transfer budget)
• 1 smart loan
• 1 one smart promotion from the academy - Hannibal
• J. Garner, perhaps Laird given a go and then in few weeks players can very quickly improve if given chance..
  
  Many of the players will improve when playing in a proper unit including Sancho, Fernandes, Van de Beek (like a new signing), Elanga, at least one of AWB and Dalot. Even someone as poor as McTominay I can see could be used. Fred will become absolute beast, even better than now. With the fixed midfield and overall control over games I can see defence sorting themselves, whether it is Lindelof or Varane next to HM. Fingers crossed Shaw will stay fit.
  
  It will still be a transition season but I can see us improving our overall play immensely transitioning into the team play rather than a bunch of individuals getting a kick and will be enough to get us top4 straight away.
