I mean this is coming after an era of 0 titles and 1 CL in about 25 years. He's doing well relative to where Liverpool have been before he arrived.

We're massively overhyped by the media and certain elements of our fan base though. The constant quadruple talk simply because we still had a chance to win everything was daft. We're a very good side but I think we've had glaring weaknesses defensively all season.
Rivalry and banter aside i don't think you were that far away; it's a very impressive squad. The lack of goals in three cup finals, two of which could have just as easily gone to Chelsea should be a concern and as I said in another thread, sometimes it seems that if you can hold strong after the inevitable early Liverpool onslaught good teams can have a chance at beating them.

Be interesting to see if Mane and Salah move along soon and who you replace them with.

He's the best manager in the world tbh. We'd be creaming ourselves if we had a manager won won two trophies and got within a point of the league and reached the final of the CL.
Why does the best manager in the world have only 1 win in the CL?

Why does he lose so many finals?

Why does he lose when his team is the favourites?

I came in here to lick my wounds. Thankfully Klopp signed that extension. Seems like you Utd fans will have to continue supporting the real big club of Manchester (City) and Ronaldo's favourite ever club (Real Madrid) until 2026 and not 2024.
Wrote that out surprisingly well with all those tears running down your face. Decent attempt but we can all see right through it. Hala Madrid!

He's still an exceptional manager and this season's of the best I've ever seen for any club.

Yes, they ultimately came short and 'only' won two of the four trophies, nevertheless how they they pushed on every single front until the very end is a sight to behold and an example to every club wanting to call themselves a great one. Especially by today's standards. Or you keep your oppo fan specs and call him shite.

Certainly is. Jota is clearly a level below them both and I'm of the opinion that Luiz is a similar level to Jota. Both good signings though, they're just going to need a lot more if they're to keep pace with City.

Salah and Mane will go now either this summer or next. And they should. This Liverpool has gone as far as it can go.

How is it the best you've ever seen for any club? What are you on about? Are you one years old or something?

This is pathetic, just lost the 2 biggest prizes you could win, after thinking yous about to do the greatest achievement in English football history winning a Quad, beating the real treble...........so you think I'll pretend to not care and sound like Michael Owen give some context to tonight, and say I'm not really bothered, but I'll make sure I'll be on a united forum to tell them it.

Lad, you crying your eyes out you aren't fooling anyone here, it's Sadder than United fans apparently supporting Madrid and city for 2024 and 2026.........

Looking forward to seeing how Carragher and Neville spin this one. 1 PL and 1 CL in 7 years. 0 goals in three cup finals this year. Greatest Liverpool team ever said Carragher not long ago. Then on the other hand you have City who have all the money in the world and can't get it done.

Liverpool and City are streets ahead of the other PL teams but remember that this is the worst Spurs, Arsenal, and United in ten years. Chelsea have their issues as well.

This has to be the most pathetic take I’ve read on here tonight and there were some horrific ones after the wrongly disallowed goal. You’re basically the Michael Owen of caf posters.

the champions league final he won was even by a fluke against the better manager. However, not to discred the amazing work he had done at liverpool. He just isn’t pushing liverpool over the line in competition that hold weight. I won’t be surprised if next season things unravel at Liverpool. I might have to lookback at this post to see if it comes true.
Just had to drag Pochettino into this, didn't you?

Klopp’s greatest strength is convincing everyone he’s the underdog and it’s okay for his team to lose finals or put in a poor showing when it really counts. He would never last more than 2 seasons at a Bayern or Madrid

He is the best manager in the world, but the great teams win the biggest prizes.

Very few clubs win their domestic league and the CL at the same time. For me that is a basic requirement of a truly elite level manager, hence you're looking at:

A handful or two of managers who have done it once, and off the top of my head I can only think of Fergie, Pep and and Jose who've done it twice (I'm sure there are some pre-90s who I can't pluck out of the air sadly).

Pushing for it isn't enough. Football history outside of Liverpool FC won't remember it.

Whatever you and the other clever ones who replied to my post think.

It's been a great season for them by any standard and anyone who isn't blinded by tribal hate can see that. But you can still go 'Lalala, can't hear you and lolz@dippers' if it makes you lot feel better, mind.

Knowing that fecking prick Gerrard was there to witness is was the icing on the cake for me. You would just know he would have went down to the pitch to have a picture with the trophy with Klopp If they did win
