60/40 he stays i reckon. This is FAR from anywhere near being done.

And you're obviously much closer to the deal and people involved than the multiple journalists saying it'll get done to be fair.

That's your priority, not his.

See the difference is, you've posted your priority instantly as you know what it is.

Our clubs are two months into a negotiation and FDJ has stated his priority is to stay put for two months solid.
feck me.

No, that’s an example of what “priority” means.

It doesn’t mean a person has no desire to do something else.

For him to stay he's going to have to accept a huge pay cut, and likely give up some of the deferred money owed to him.
Then he'll have to watch as new players come in on much more money than him.

His love for the club might be strong enough for him to accept that, but from all accounts, it's very very unlikely, albeit not totally impossible

Why would new players come in on more money than his pay cut? - Doesnt make sense. They may come in on parity but surely no more than what he may reduce to......

So you think that Lewandowski will come in on less money than de Jong or on parity with him?

The difference between Utd, Barca and Real Madrid right now

Barcelona / Real Madrid;
"Our fans do not really love you, we will bench you lots, would rather play Spaniards and by the way we want you to take a 50% wage cut, I know we have a contract but it is the terrible league bosses they make us do it"
Player;
"Yes please I love you so much and whilst you are at it would you like to shove your foot up my butt?"

Man Utd;
"Please stay with us we will double your wages even though you are an atrocious waste of space and money!"
Player;
"I would rather eat £$£%"

Berbatov, Sneijder, Thiago, Vidal, Pogba, Griezmann, Sancho, De Jong... Our muppet sagas just never drop in quality. Meanwhile even Game of Thrones flopped towards the end. :wenger:
All I can deduce is that Caftards have memories like a gnat. Its repeat and rinse a script nearly every summer. People getting upset with each other when the reality is that everything is based on crumbles of information. I think it's less of a logical discussion but one of a reflection of the posters' personalities or mental state being projected into these threads. High anxiety levels.

Anyone in this thread genuinely think we can get this done in time for Friday?

Was just a sarcastic observation from the outside, Barca players despite not being loved, willing to do whatever to stay at the club, whilst we throw money at players who prefer to leave.... in the words of Paula Abdul, "it ain't fiction just a natural fact"

Well it's been a few days since the absolutely not for sale comments, and theres been no brief or any kind of suggestion that we're walking away.
I know we don't do things the easy way, but with things starting to click with other players, i can see this being done one way or another rather soon.

I think if we offer him 400k weekly, he will come.

Money and respect is all we have for him.

Its a **** over there. I bet they drink Kool-Aid on the training ground instead of Gatorade or Lucozade.

Yeah that's very true but we now have the Ronaldo floorshow to deal with as well

Yep we do. I do wonder if we're accelerating things to prove to Ronaldo that we're serious about getting back to the top? I know that seems very far fetched, but you never know.
It's probably more the fact that most deals are that far advanced that they were close to being done anyway.

To me it is obvious this deal has collapsed and with this being our top target (and dedicating so much time on this) then this has pushed Ronaldo to lose his s**t and cry that he wants out. It does seem we have put all our energy into chasing this transfer and now it is clear de Jong's preference is not to join us then we are somewhat lost on the plans for the coming season. The trouble is this mess of a transfer window has now had the knock on effect of creating further division amongst those already on the books and from going from nothing but Ronaldo upfront we now have nothing but forcing a unwilling Ronaldo to continue.

Why is it we are just so poor and transfer recruitment and everything we do seems to take so much time to try to resolve whilst others (City and Liverpool especially) are just so much more professional and proactive?
What on earth have I just read?

I've just explained it above, Laporta has had to be publicly blunt with him and tell FDJ that he takes the pay cut or sods off. The fact its dragging out 2 months now suggests FDJ is quite happy to stay put either forcing Barca's hand into payment (make cuts elsewhere) or considering actually taking a huge pay cut.

Malacia jumped at the chance of signing with us, done and dusted in 3-4 days, Martinez telling Ajax to listen to our offer and consider lowering their asking price.
No. It dragged for.2 months because United and Barca were negotiating his big transfer fee. Even if de Jong agree to sign with United from day one, he wont say anything publicly until both club agree on the fee.
Malacia cost 17m Euros,this isn't comparable at all

Same Barca who are almost bankrupt due to the wages they have been paying to the players who according to some here would be willing to play for free something doesn't add up .
