Worst scout to ever exist
If nothing else, he makes the game exciting Capable of best defender in the world level and horrible within a minute
Oh yeah, certainly. I was not including injuries cos he obviously doesnt play when injured, was more talking about when hes on the pitch.I'd say it's the injuries. When he plays, I don't think he makes mistakes any more frequently than our other defenders.
Also because he's so proactive with his defending his errors might be more obvious, rather than defenders who passively do nothing. Hes a good defender. Just can't stay fit.
He has been a total disaster whenever he played in back 3. It helps covering for the lack of pace, or ball winning ability, but it exposes lack positional awareness. And Bailly is the worst out of our lot. He's an all action front foot defender more suited in back 4.Classic Bailly performance. He'd probably be great in a back 3 or with a DM willing to drop into the backline
Well he won't be considered a starter, not even a little bit because he has a proven track record of being unreliable due to fitness and erractic play.Couple sloppy moments. Still, has to play. Should be first choice if fit. Excellent 1v1 and can defend large spaces. Also very good on the ball. He’s actually so much better than the others at certain things he should absolutely be considered as a starter.
You can’t not play a fit player because of fitness - and all of our centre halves are guilty of the latter.Well he won't be considered a starter, not even a little bit because he has a proven track record of being unreliable due to fitness and erractic play.
We're about to sign Martinez so I doubt he'll be here much longer.
Was only one ‘absolutely catastrophic error’, and one misplaced pass near the half way line.Crazy the way his fans can dismiss a couple of absolutely catastrophic errors as somehow not a big deal, while we have dozens of posts slating our other centre backs over not being perfectly positioned.
How does Maguire make you feel?Personally hope he goes , hes a disaster. Signs of absolute world class defending and feckwittery in the same game. Makes me nervous whenever I see him on the pitch
FactsEvery player makes mistakes. Bailly is simply a better player than both Maguire and Lindelof.
I don't think it's this black and white across all settings. However, Maguire and Lindelof seem to be less suitable for a highline, aggressive front foot defending, which is what ETH is implementing. Bailly may benefit from this.Every player makes mistakes. Bailly is simply a better player than both Maguire and Lindelof.
Are you saying he reads the game well? That and positiniong is his worst trait. He constantly reads wrong, charges and luckily has pace to often recover. He is far from good enoughEven including the sloppy things, for me he HAS to start ahead of Lindelof and Maguire. His reading and aggression is brilliant and works well if wanting to press high up the pitch.
EDIT - He needs to stay fit..........
You haven’t got a clue then. Are you saying he reads the game well? That and positiniong is his worst trait. He constantly reads wrong, charges and luckily has pace to often recover. He is far from good enough
Did you watch the game today? Watch their goal. Two idiots who can't see what was happening. Then second half you see Bailly cutting quite a few out with ease. Same as the Liverpool game. Are you saying he reads the game well? That and positiniong is his worst trait. He constantly reads wrong, charges and luckily has pace to often recover. If you are blaming Lindelof for the goal you are just being reactive. The fault was with Shaw stranded miles out of position and making no effort to get back which forced Lindelof over to the left and as a result the not at all speedy Maguire was exposed. Easy to blame the CBs but bigger picture that goal was all about the woeful football intelligence and effort of Shaw.Did you watch the game today? Watch their goal. Anyone wanting to see lindelof and Maguire again needs their heads checked
I kind of agree, Bailly is the better footballer of the two and more athletic.I'd have him over maguire.
Both commit a schoolboy mistake every game but bailly also produced moments of brilliance which maguire doesn't.
Where did you read me saying Lindelof/Maguire is a good pair?? Whatsboutism at it finest.Did you watch the game today? Watch their goal. Two idiots who can't see what was happening. Then second half you see Bailly cutting quite a few out with ease. Same as the Liverpool game.

Roy would have strangled him about 3 matches in because of his antics.I kind of agree, Bailly is the better footballer of the two and more athletic.
He'd be supreme in a team captained by Roy Keane, or playing next to Stam.
Probably a bit old to retrain now, but looking at his core strengths and weaknesses - I think he'd have been brilliant at RB.Can see him play RB if we don't sign a new player there.
I know, it would be the only thing to keep him groundedRoy would have strangled him about 3 matches in because of his antics.
Absolutely catastrophic but didn't lead to goals. Ok.Crazy the way his fans can dismiss a couple of absolutely catastrophic errors as somehow not a big deal, while we have dozens of posts slating our other centre backs over not being perfectly positioned to defend a counter.
Bailly has always been a wildly erratic performer. Which is the worst possible way to describe a footballer in his position. This has been evident in both pre-season games yet that somehow doesn’t matter because he’s made some marauding forward runs. Classic redcafe.
He needs consistent football to have a chance of doing that. And he needs consistent fitness to have a choice of doing that.If he cuts out the Brain Fart moments - he’d be top class.
He actually played at RB for us a few times after we signed him and he was absolutely fantastic there.Probably a bit old to retrain now, but looking at his core strengths and weaknesses - I think he'd have been brilliant at RB.
For the 8 games a season he was fit to play it, of course. Always loved Eric's style of play, but if we get an offer surely he has to go this summer. Enough chances.
Oh I don't remember that. Dare we drink the Bailly coolade one last time? ..He actually played at RB for us a few times after we signed him and he was absolutely fantastic there.
He produced his worst ever performance at right back in Paris too. Definitely up there with the worst performances I’ve ever seen. He was hooked after about half an hour if I’m not mistaken. He actually played at RB for us a few times after we signed him and he was absolutely fantastic there.
Can't say I remember that but I do remember the last time he played at RB, which was an absolute disasterclass vs PSG and hasn't played there since. He actually played at RB for us a few times after we signed him and he was absolutely fantastic there.
I agree, the 2 goals he created in 2 friendlies I dont think anyone in our squad could have done that. He is very underrated on the ball, he has very good composure. He lacks long passing skill but more often that not, his passing is good. He’s just an obvious choice for everything that we hear about how we want to play. Not only that, but a number of the other options are also so obviously unsuited.
We want to play high. We want to pass and carry the ball out from the back. We want 1v1 centre halves. We want to play ‘proactive football’. It’s clear, if we are impartially selecting, that Bailly is most suited. It’s also blindingly obvious that Maguire and Lindelof are not particularly suited. Yet I feel we are going to do this long dance first, on the basis that we would prefer and it would be more convenient if Maguire was most suited. Why not just make the obvious call? I appreciate Bailly has a mistake in him, but Maguire’s season was littered with them. I can’t see any scenario where Maguire is ahead of Bailly if he cost us £40m. Even if he has had greater consistency in both form and fitness - he hasn’t shown any consistency in being the type of centre half that we want/need. Just seems like we will engage in politicking.
