We should have kept Cavani, this guy isn't just a cnut, he's not even good! Imagine Ronny goes and this is the replacement.

would have rather gotten Dybala on a free or go for Ziyech at least he's an attacker that has history and success playing in ETH's setup and could be just as cheap or literally 100 different strikers/forwards before I would have even considered this racist prick. if he is brought in I think i'm out on this season.

Christ, what the feck is going on here? I’d rather is just promote Charlie McNeil than sign this scumbag. I wouldn’t have went near him in his prime never mind at 33.

From a purely footballing perspective, this transfer makes sense - a cheap striker, in the mould that EtH wants, who's PL proven and a good player when motivated.

However, he's clearly a nasty piece of work, even without the racism there's big question marks around his professionalism. Maybe we should just go back in for Ighalo for another year

I would love to see him at United. I am a lifelong United fan and as an Austrian also a big fan of Arnautovic. He is coming from a multicultural district in Vienna growing up in the small football cages before joining football academies and you can see this in his game. I do not understand why people talk so much about racism, when the two players settled their dispute right after the game and UEFA also found nothing.
My big concern is that he has not the quality anymore. Maybe he brings some goals and the bad guy attitute, he always had. But still, he is not near the quality we would need.

He definitely can be.
Nah he's better than Rashford as a nine. Quite comfortably too. It's just that he's too old now to really make sense. Should have considered him 5 years ago. Still a decent footballer and very strong but quite a character and honestly he won't take us where we want to be. Not the greatest of goal scorers and not a real poacher. Plus we have the mentioned incidents as he's also not the brightest lad. Plus I'm not sure how his fitness is. During his time in China his fintess level was quite bad. Seems to be alright now though again.

I'm starting to lose trust in Ten Hag if he thinks we need to sign this guy. Ffs there are a lot of better strikers who can come in and do a job for us.

Seems every season we like to sign at least 1 over the hill aged striker. The previous ones were atleast considered world class in their prime. This guy was a proper mid table player at his peak and went to play in China during his prime years. Everyone at the club thinking this is a good signing needs to give their head a serious wobble. :houllier:

These are probably the players with red flags. Dodged a bullet.
We were never getting Haaland. Especially with his dad being who he is. Nunez cost what 90 million? Aye, we weren’t getting him either. Diaz looks so/so and the other guy hasn’t even moved yet.

No it doesn't. I've been really positive about about transfer market from the beginning of Erik's appointment, but having 2 months to buy a striker, and then ending up with Arnautovic, means this club has no clue what is doing. Why can't we have a long term striker, but we always end up with 30+ year old finished striker? What can he offer? Goals? 15 combined goals and assists last season in all games. This transfer alone gives me depression.

I quite like him as player. It’s a weird one don’t get me wrong but he’s probably the kind of hard character we could use. 33 isn’t that old really so should be grand for a season. I understand the negativity as it’s not what I’d hope for it I think he’s being abit underrated.,

He is the target man in the mold of Haller. If ETH wants him, yes please. Especially since Ronaldo might not stay. I don't know why the CAF is so negative about him. He has a reputation but it is petulance, not hiding or disappearing into the ground when things get rough. One you would happily fight in the trenches with. Clearly he is a stop-gap. Better him than no one.

I also think he's a good player. Just massively disappointing to have an aging stopgap to add to our other aging stopgap (that may leave) and to once again be kicking the can down the road on a crucial part of any squad.

It's an absolute disgrace that we are even considering this move, especially for a club that is meant to have ethics and values. I cannot fully support a regime that finds this even remotely acceptable.

I don't understand why the club doesn't have a list of quality heavily scouted players in each position to present to ETH? What's the point in having all these employees if they offer feck all?

Would Arnautovic have even got into his Ajax side in a weaker league?

Personally he only makes sense to me if we are going for Sesko and loaning him back. Sesko looks like a player with all the attributes to be truly world class and I’d rather make a gamble on someone like that even if he isn’t fully ready currently. I’d take Arnie for a season to make that happen though.

I guess the only thing to do is if you have a Twitter or instagram account then get on there and let the club know what you think.

he's going to be the best striker on the squad (sadly), and the only one that can work as a target man and hold up play to bring the other attacking players into the game as the midfield is complete garbage. hoof ball baby !

Seriously, after 1 game, got to be a joke right? Support the manager. Its the club hierarchy that's letting us down, time and time again. Peak Fergie and Guardiola or Klopp would take a long time to turn this around with such limited resources and people above making daft decisions.
I do support the manager and think ETH is a great coach. Please read my post and understand what I wrote.
