It probably won't be anything to do with value to the club, but more the financial implications and how well they are gelling with the team. Many players don't start the first game if they only signed a day or two before, happens at all clubs. Still, they probably would have preferred to at least have them on the bench for the sake of bringing them on for 20 minutes.
Fee for Aubameyang would be pretty low I would assume. I'm not really versed on what Chelsea can spend this summer although the fee being quoted for Fofana on top of de Jong would be insane, I fear Alonso may be used as a makeweight in the deal for Frenkie.
