Have to say I’m impressed with what I’ve seen of ETH so far. Not only is he a talented and intelligent manager, but also comes across a thoroughly decent bloke. He certainly has his work cut out, not only with a difficult and complex set of of players but also the owners too. Good luck to him.
Exactly, he now just needs time to get the right players in. It’s not going to happen overnight but my concern is the structure above him. Just hope Arnold can change things.

I've actually enjoyed his press conferences. Doesn't say much but doesn't need to, he has a commanding presence about him and as you say comes across as a bloke who's genuine and knows what he wants.

Very interesting day. Lets see how he reacts to the loss last week, I can't wait to see the starting 11.

I think the usual suspects will play up until after the Liverpool game.

I thought you were actually joking.
I realize it's extreme but if we don't sign 2 CM, I would support ETH if he resigned (kinda like Bielsa at Lazio) if it's on the club for not signing them (rather than ETH going with McFred)

I mean let's face it, without a new CM he isn't going to be able to do anything. He is not a miracle worker. (The only person who could possibly do something with McFred would be SAF.)

Anyway I fear for ETH and us this season without a new midfield. So if I were him I would strongly consider resigning to save a few years of my career.

If Erik is to succeed here , he’ll ship out DDG , Rashford before start of next season. They just dont have the technical and mindset. He gets my support till December 2023, he should show a clear path to trophies by that time.

He will be gone after 5 or 6 games. Absolutely clueless. The players have given up already.

And we are stuck with Dutch/Eredivisie players...

but the fans on redcafe wanted him, just like we all wanted LvG, Jose and Ralf. Clueless fans we are too.

This blokes in the bin already. I get that you want to play a certain way but for Christ sake you don’t ask players who simply aren’t capable of doing what you want to do it. We’ve known for years DDG can’t pass for shit.

Needs to adapt to these players quickly & realise the tactics he wants to play, cannot be played by these lot. Makes the lack of recruitment over the summer even more infuriating.

I know our midfield options are trash but starting with Fred and Eriksen as a midfield pair in a PL away game, does he think he's still managing in Netherlands or something ?

Chill out, lads. Almost all goals conceded are individual errors. He cannot help that he's inherited shit players.

Poor bastard has his work cut out. He's inherited an utter mess of a squad with problems in every single area. He could coach this lot for a decade and they'd still be thick as pig shit and constantly make stupid mistakes

Another manager thrown under the bus by this set of players, but yeah let’s keep changing the managers. Get rid of this squad of dross and I mean literally all of them, start again.

Yeah he could start all those tough midfielders he never bought. His refusal to sign anyone other than De Jong is costing us.

I feel so sorry for the bloke! No one can put this on him and anyone that does should reconsider being a football fan.

If we end up losing today and then lose to Liverpool next season, then I can't see him seeing the end of the season. Will be way too toxic and he doesn't seem like a guy who can manage through this with his weird tactical set ups. The transfer window has been trash and the entire team is hopeless, he won't be the one to save them.

Gone by Christmas.

I'm not wanting him out yet but at the same time I'm not convinced by him at all.

Bad decision after bad decision.

If the club isn’t backing its managers to get players then it’s criminal at this point. But, surely someone would have come out and said something if that was the case?

Players are just not adapting to his tactics. He will do well to last till Christmas at this rate.

They are mediocre players most of them. No need to adapt to them. We change them. Top 10 should be the goal this season. The only issue is tat probably we are unable to replace these players.

Not his fault the club hierarchy is useless and can't identify or sign the right players for him. Hell, we've struggled to even sign a GK to compete with DDG this season.
