ETH has proved to have been an appointment of pure genius, or at least thats what the board would have us believe. But ETH is, without doubt, the best manager we've had since SAF and considering that the " geniuses" on the board were once considering going for Pocchetino, we are very, very lucky to have him! As well as stamping down on and getting rid of the prima donnas and time wasters who were pulling us down, ETH has got his squad playing with a togetherness and spirit not seen in over a decade. He is bringing the best out of players many, including myself, thought were finished at United, Marcus Rashford being the best example; Marcus is now playing with a smile and is enjoying football again. Luke Shaw is unrecognisable from the player of the last couple of seasons, and DDF has also had a new lease of life. Add to these Dalot, Fred, Lindelof and Wan Bisakka. In the market ETH has made some brilliant buys, Casemiro and Martinez being the two stand out players amongst these. And yet I read the other day that ETH might be replaced by a so called "big name" manager, if the club is sold; unbelievably, that perenial loser, Pocchetino, has been mentioned again as ETHs replacement! Surely, in the name of sanity and all thats sensible this will not happen!

I keep seeing this being suggested and I don't understand it. If a manager is doing well (which he currently is) and is popular amongst the fans and players, then surely we have nothing to worry about. If we get ambitious owners then they surely recognise that. If anything we've been to guilty in the past of not being ruthless enough and taking too long to sack managers who clearly weren't up to it. Ole for example should have been let go earlier instead of mid season where it all ended tragically.

Massive mistake Playing Shaw as centre back today. Looking at that bench, he is still working with scraps.

The game hasn't even started yet plus he did well there against City; who else could he have chosen with Martinez out? Maguire? Very strange comment.

Sorry, I'm confused - whose mistake is it and what would have been the better approach?

have you NOT been watching united this season? His preference is to have a left footed CB to keep proper balance and playing. Shaw was a no brainer with Martinez out.

The transformation under this guy is so good. You can just see the way he’s changed our style of play. Players look a lot more comfortable on the ball.

Ten Hag more angry than ever before it seems because of that penalty moment with Rashford. Offense seemed outside the box though

Erik is a legend. Dominated Real with Ajax at the Bernabeu, dominating Barca at Nou Camp with United..

Don’t have enough of the right system players yet to take the foot off the gas against evenly matched teams away from home. Annoyed that we dropped points but draw seems fair.

So if playing Shaw in LCB is a mistake in this game, what would have been the better approach?
Had to be Shaw tonight.

If you want to critique ETH, argue that Maguire should have gone day 1 and a new CB brought in for the 25M or whatever he'd fetch. Same deal as McTominay. It probably wasn't realistic, but at least there's an argument there, though it might have created more chaos than it was worth and we can replace both in the summer with players Ten Hag is more comfortable with (and already maybe have in the case of Sabitzer over McTominay, though we probably also need a pure DM backup for Casemiro).

The only thing I'd question is keeping WW on for so long but our main attacking options are injured, so hard to be too annoyed.

Apart from that, he's our messiah

He is the one. Feels great to finally have a proper proper manager in charge.
