UK government said armbands and a minutes silence were sufficient. Absolute farce
Prince William being president of the FA has probably played a part, yes we are in good league form so it's frustrating but will give us a bit more extra time on the training pitch.

Are the games just going to be postponed this weekend? Back to normal next weekend?

Is it though? In a season where they have to contend with a winter World Cup, cancelling a weekend of PL fixtures is going to put players under even more physical pressure when it comes to fitting those games in later.

Playing a game of football (especially where arm bands and minutes silences are observed) isn’t disrespectful, if anything it will spread the message wider to anyone tuning in to watch.
Good points you're making and this season is really different due to World Cup. I don't know, I can understand the decision but other outcome and games being played would be fine as well..

Highly doubt it. Resources will be stretched to their maximum with the amount of policing involved plus the travelling as well is just going to cause chaos as folk are going to be ascending towards London in all directions.

Yeah I am trying to see both sides of the story, especially with the World Cup going to cause extra fixture congestion.

Great. Each city though will surely have enough police to cover games.

Doubt it. Then it's the international break. So no Premier League football for 3 weeks. Next game for us won't be until 2nd October.

Rugby, Cricket and Golf all resuming tomorrow. Absoultely no reason why matches outside of London/Not involving London teams couldn't go ahead tomorrow
Yeah there is more sport carrying on than I thought, perhaps in hindsight sporting bodies should have come together a bit more.

Nah, they'll just reschedule the matches so clubs are playing every other day sometime near the end of the season.
knowing the FA they'll make them come home half way through the World Cup and then go back out again :D:nono:

The rugby decision is mental. Cancelling tonight’s games at short notice just to then play them tomorrow, when loads of people now won’t be able to attend.

I am assuming at one point they didn't expect to go ahead at all, so presumably the games were essentially cancelled this morning and then newly arranged for tomorrow given play is possible.

Starting to look like Football should have adopted this stance as well, not enough communication between sporting bodies.
Good on the RFU. Sensible move.

Strange this I think in 1952 the situation was reversed, football on Rugby Union off.

That will be the derby! Might work in our favour as City are not the same without momentum!

I doubt it tbh.

I can completely understand them calling off the football next weekend but this weekend is just ridiculous when you think pubs, restaurants, high street shops, cinemas will all be operating as normal.

I don't get it. You're mourn someone by closing shop? Seems they want people to 'kneel' for the sake of it.
