I see, I must support a rival because I’m not entirely happy with us sat in 6th in the league and am not ejaculating everywhere over a draw against Chelsea when we should have won.
I think the reason people are errrm ejaculating, is because as you said we should have won it, at a ground we are awful at.

Sometimes it's better to look at the wider context. We are 11 games into the season and we are playing brilliant football now and it is genuinely really exciting to watch our progress.

You need to learn to enjoy the ride. We’re doing ok, and look capable of CL qualification. I’d take that for a transitional season.

I love the man. The improvement in our playing style is there for all to see. Plus, he's managed the players perfectly - be it blending players into the team at the right pace, as well as the way he's managed the whole Ronaldo-debacle.

results aren’t enough, I have to actually enjoy the football. some of the stuff in the first half in particular was top notch.

Maybe Chelsea, he got really going after we schooled them. He can’t stand that we are doing well.
Interesting his join date was the point at which it was clear we were fecked under Moyes.

Exactly the sort of time a rival fan would sign up to enjoy the misery.

He's doing a great job so far. Finally can see us building towards something.

His signings have been great too.

He's put us into a solid position. We were never winning a title, that was completely obvious. Even hinting at a title challenge was a remote possibility. Yes he's spent but you can't click your fingers with a squad that has been awful.

So to be where we are having navigated a really tough start, with some appealing fixtures to come, I'm happy with it. Importantly we also see a side that has some clue what they're doing.

Doing very well so far.

Spot on squad management so far.
Dealt with the big issues of Maguire and Ronaldo well.
Given Shaw a kick up the ass with Malacia coming in.
Knew better than probably most of the cafe in bringing Martinez in.
Kept the likes of McFred motivated despite very obviously improving the squad in their positions.
Got Rashy looking up for it and strong again.

Carry on the good work.
Agree. Add to that…
Martial looked reborn - bar injuries. Lindelof has looked much better
De gea looking better and better with his feet

the guy is getting it done…

Signs are good so far, but this statement has been bandied about at the certain point of pretty much every one of our managers' tenure, post Fergie by a significant section of our fanbase. Let's not get too carried away.
Not me. Regarding managers i believe in CV. Managers don't change a lot during their careers. Their knowledge, their style, man management...what you see in one club, you get in another. So with chosen one and failed Cardiff manager i knew that we are fecked despite good results in the beggining (Ole).
With Jose (despite being a fan of his) i expected short term trophies with pragmatic (ugly) style.
With LVG i admit that i had high hopes but i was wrong.

With ETH i strongly believe that we will win a trophy this year and that we will be title challenger next year because of his football style and obviously great football knowledge. Future is bright.

Looking forward to our next run of games. Hopefully we leave for the world cup in a great position.

Yeah, after years of excellent management on and off the field we expected him to be 7 points ahead at this stage. Poor manager

Represents exactly what was meant by the cry of progressive coaching, its downright miraculous actually looking at players in red knowing where their teammates are on the pitch when they receive the ball. Even Dalot looks nothing like the player he was.

Baldy is slowly restoring that old feeling, belief and spirit. You can clearly see that his players are ready to go to war for him and the badge.

I haven't taken to a manager of ours such as this since the great man retired, truly feel he's capable of building us back up to the top.
man you have to love the reaction of bruno, casemiro, antony, lisandro....so much passion for the game

Then you should force Glazer or give your own money to ETH to let him buy a proper CF. We have that decent performance without a proper CF obviously.

He signed players but I wouldn’t say any of them are world class except Casemiro… he’s bought young players that can all improve… yes they improve us but he took a big risk and gambled on signing martinez and Antony… because they was good in the Dutch league, doesn’t mean they’d come and do well in the prem. so he deserves credit For sticking to his targets.

Just realised we’re 3 points behind 3rd with a game in hand. Not bad at all. If only we would of beat Brighton and Brentford we’d be 3rd now.

My only concern is will he have to shelve playing the way he wants until after World Cup

The only worrying thing for me is that these muppets might only be putting in performances now because the World Cup is next month.

We’ll see how motivated they are post WC.

Dalot looking something like a footballer might be Ten Hag’s biggest achievement yet.

What a contrast to the shameful attitude of last season when players looked like they didn't care. What stands out to me here are the reactions of new guys Casemiro, Martinez and Antony. Signing players with the right mentality is so important

He's got us looking so much better, Spurs and Chelsea barely had a chance on our goal the last 2 games, we edged possession today away from home against a good side which is impressive.

Not a fan of his subs today though, think we overcomplicated it and lost balance of our team and resulted in no attacking threat 2nd half. Elanga should have come on for Sancho. Packing the 2nd half with midfielders is something he's done previously but usually to protect a lead.

I'm still concerned our attacking play just isn't good enough in terms of chance creation, we're 8th in xG, but it's probably something a top class centre forward will fix by themselves. Finishing looks to be an issue but we're not really underperforming our xG in the league so we need to up the amount of chances we create.
I think 8th for xG isn't so bad considering who we've played. I think you'll see us climbing that table as the season progresses.

I'm surprised we haven't seen more youth get actual minutes when our first XI players aren't performing such as Sancho, I thought he would be quite trusting of them so I wonder whether they just genuinely aren't at the level we believed them to be yet, I'm talking about Pellistri, Mainoo, McNeil, Garnacho, Iqbal & Shola etc

I like what I see so far, players look like they give a shit, which is a great beginning already. He's managed the Maguire and Ronaldo situation really well. The players look like they know what to do when they have the ball and even when they don't.
We're having trouble breaking down low blocks, but the guys has had one window and is still having to play Sancho and Fred in a lot of games. Martial has been barely fit and Ronaldo has been a shadow of himself, Rash is not a #9.
So far so good.

I'm getting worried about Garnacho's lack of minutes. Isn't he now in the last year of his contract??

Contrasting reports on whether he signed a new one or not but for me the thing to note is he seems very eager and sure of himself and I don't want a PP repeat situation where he leaves to seek game time as I do think he could be good enough but just have to trust ETH

ETH is already by far the most successful of the lot? Wow. He's the manager I wanted and I'm confident he will succeed here but that's a kneejerk statement.

To be fair, the first few months under Ole were great. He took a well drilled team that was just depressed and cheered them up and we played good counter attacking football. Once Ole was asked to do more though it all fell apart.

ETH has a much harder job. He inherited a mess of a squad which was unbalanced, unfit, disjointed and woefully under-coached and underworked. What he has done in 11 games is impressive. His greatest issue is a lack of a striker. If we had even a half decent striker we would probably be 3rd in the league right now. If Martial could stay fit for more than 10 minutes we would be third in the league right now.

Within 11 games he has us playing the best football I have seen from us in years (which isn't say that much lets be honest). I think with another proper transfer window we will have a cracking squad and start to compete for things. Probably not the league because City are just another level but who knows.

Depending on what success means to you obviously, most would point to LVG's FA Cup win, Jose's Europa & League Cup double.

Under the roof, above the clouds
I became convinced he was the guy that will take us to the top again just before the Chelsea game. My son said he was more nervous now than before the Spurs game and asked how i felt. I thought about it and said ”no, i am not nervous at all now, because even of we loose this game i know we will bounce back”.
Thats the feeling i got now, that ETH will get us back, even of it take some time.

Imagine having him here still, what a disaster that would be, it's bad enough the Ronaldo circus distracting us without PP doing the same. Pogba and Matic leaving and replacing them with Casemiro and Ericksen is transformative.

Anyway back to ETH.....Im thinking of putting a poster of him on my bedroom wall like I used to do with the players when I was a kid, I'm sure my wife won't think it's weird.
Not weird at all, asking her to wear an ETH mask now..........
