is he referencing adidas' history with anti-semitism in the most controversial and clumsiest possible way? that's my guess. it's a mental thing to say but kind of funny if it hurts no one except adidas and maybe kanye west.

it is but it's 2hrs long. famous man says stupid things designed to hook media outlets exactly as it has and they profit from it. trump's election campaign strategy all over again. summary. kanye west has said anti-semitic things but claims he is jewish and there's a hidden context that no one will explain.

Thucydides nuts
On the contrary, he sounds compos mentis, and just like every other attention seeking loud mouth with a conspiracy hot take. Mumbling, bumbling, stumbling over clichés and memes, mixing half heard theories with the first paragraph of a wikipedia article, uttering old hat banalities like it's Revelations.

No different from your average Qanon or flat earther or Elon Musk or Suella Braverman or any redcafe shitposter. Lazy, low effort drivel.

Not mad, crazy, far out, but here, there and everywhere.

Kanye West agrees to buy conservative social media platform Parler, company says

Kanye West, the superstar rapper who has made several inflammatory and antisemitic comments in recent weeks, has agreed in principle to buy conservative social media platform Parler, the app’s parent company said in a statement Monday.

“In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves,” said West, who now goes by Ye, in a statement released by Parler.

I love how they always put racism, anti-Semitism and homophobia as "conservative opinion". And cryface when they get blocked for it on social media.
Parler must be creaming their khaki shorts, they're gonna get a return on a polished turd.

Management firm dropped him and a completed documentary on him is scrapped by producers.

“This morning, after discussion with our filmmakers and distribution partners, we made the decision not to proceed with any distribution for our recently completed documentary about Kanye West. We cannot support any content that amplifies his platform,” they wrote. “Kanye is a producer and sampler of music. Last week he sampled and remixed a classic tune that has charted for over 3,000 years — the lie that Jews are evil and conspire to control the world for their own gain.”

Adidas not dropping him is a very bad look.
Their lawyers and accountants have to be running all the numbers to make sure they can afford the break and the best way to do it. They aren't going to defend what he is saying or doing.

Stock was taking a hit earlier.

Absolutely tone deaf on their part.
They have lost 10.5% of the stockvalue since Friday. Let that sink in for a moment.

Oh, please. I'm sure Balenciaga checked everything and yet found no issues in dropping the cnut straight away. There is no good way to drop a toxic celebrity out of your list of people under sponsorship; you either 1) drop the cnut and save your reputation, or 2) you will lose more and more money by keeping him every single day that is overdue.

Why was he so confident that they couldn't drop him, and why does it increasingly look like he's correct?

He can't be that indispensable to them surely? Or has he become their main revenue stream? I don't even know what he sells, I didn't think his shoes were made in partnership with Adidas.

Not that it should matter how much money he makes them anyway. I know that's not the point.

“I don’t care if they release a video of me f…ing a goat” Kanye West the GOAT Fecker.

That was so hilarious I’m surprised it’s not been mentioned more. Probably a sign of how tragic his state of mind is viewed?

But reminded me of a South Park episode and something Cartman did, ironically because he got paranoid about his Jewish friend.

I find it a little strange that he can get away saying such abhorrent and insulting things against black people for so long and none of these companies bat an eyelid. Wearing 'White Lives Matter' tops, anti-blackness rhetoric whenever he speaks, saying slavery was a choice for black people, the crass comments about ******* Tubman. I mean, the list is extensive, and he's been spouting that shite for years and years.

The moment he makes anti-semitic comments and he's dropped by all his labels and sponsors. Do these companies not care when it's against black people?

I think him being black makes things awkward. If he were another race I think he would've been canned. Or if he said offensive about Asians or another race he would have been canned.

So what? We're just going to abandon the entire idea of free speech now? Kanye should be allowed to say what he wants, whenever he wants about Pete Davidson's dick.

I don't think that should matter considering the actual things he did say - for example:

"When you hear about slavery for 400 years ... for 400 years? That sounds like a choice," he said during an appearance on entertainment site TMZ.
ranted against historical figure ******* Tubman on Sunday, saying the Underground Railroad conductor “never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people,”
West is the same man who said in 2015 that “racism is a dated concept,” and that “it’s like a silly concept that people” use “to separate, to alienate, to pinpoint anything. It’s stupid.”
I mean, it's grossly offensive and inaccurate as well. These are all white supremacist tropes being regurgitated by a black man. The fact that he is black doesn't make them less offensive (I know you're not defending him but just trying to explain the companies' stance).

I think we can all agree that no more Yeezy foam runners or slides being produced will make this all worthwhile.
