The future is not just about who is playing as striker. It is about building a style of play and a fluency in attack that accommodating Ronaldo does not allow.
True enough. I don't think Ronaldo would have even played as much as he had if (you know who) wasn't a complete knob and still on this team. He's being used out of necessity even though the team just looks more like Ole ball when he is on.

Just one of those spells at the moment.
Even when he finds the net it's offside.

Well done Cristiano, forget about him leaving etc, we need him fit and scoring goals even if he isn't first choice.

He's found his level. Maybe we can find some Europa League clubs who may want him?

Stunk the place out but got his goal in the end. We need him this season, or at least until January. 7 months max and he's gone for good.

Awful performance, hopefully won`t see him start until the League cup game now. The team play with so much more energy and fluidity with Rashford, Sancho and Antony.

So ten hag plays him a full 90, his fellow players celebrate with him and the fans gave him a decent enough reception.
Presumably ten Hag, united fans and the players are a complete disgrace for not spitting on Ronaldo and smearing shit on his face.
it’s almost as if there was an overreaction on here……

That was the first time I’ve ever felt a genuine negative reaction to someone playing for us at Old Trafford. Not out of frustration or a lack of belief in their ability, just a sense that I don’t think they are worthy of our support any longer. It surprised me to feel that way.

The crowd was really mixed 50-50 in the Stretty on booing him and continuing to cheer him. Sounded more hostile in the singing section around the tunnel.

Imagine using that performance to gloat or doubt ETH. We know he can score against Sheriff because he has already done it once. It didn't stop him being 37 the next day. That performance like this one came with all the same neon red flags. The same Rashford that's constantly put down also came on and produced in a third of the play time. ETH has done right so far.

Probably his best performance in a while, in that he was actually among the chances regularly, linked up well, had a sharp touch and finally actually scored.

The problem with him outside of Europa League is that the chances have just dried up completely. His misses aren't an issue IMO, as he just wasn't even getting the chances in the league. If he gets the chances, the goals will come... But against tougher opposition, he can't find those spaces anymore.

Yeh, was a bit mixed. Weird one. First time I felt a genuine negative vibe towards him, though there was an audible viva Ronaldo chant on the way out

First half he was totally awful. I missed the second half. Did he do better ? He found his current level though. It's Moldovan league. His first touch in the match where he did a shit stepover and lost the ball summed him up this season

Amen…I’m with you that I want our club to actually be great…not some vehicle for constant negativity. Was glad to see him succeed, and hopefully he can be useful and respectful moving forward…

If we're being more precise it's playing against Moldovan league teams with a Premier league team supporting him.

When you put it that way, its even worse. Maybe Moldova 2nd tier league ? Meanwhile his fanboys are convinced Ronaldo would have scored all those chances we had in these last few games like he buried all of those chances in first half of this match.

There was no overreaction at all, he deserved all the hate from people on here for pulling that shit. I have no problems with him being back with the squad, and scoring tonight, because to me it shows who won out from all this.....Ten Hag, because the only way he was getting back with the first team squad was by apologising, which he must of done. That shows who the real boss is, and Ronaldo knows it now.

The sooner all you Ronaldo fans masquerading as United fans leave with him the better, this place will be alot better for it.

Exactly this. Rather than be rational about it though, half our fanbase went into hysterics.

 Are you like 12?

And there was definitely a complete overreaction to the incident. I’d suggest anyone who argues against that must be some kind of moron. The fact this topic got to 67 pages and the multiple other Ronaldo created threads tells you that.

Ronaldo fanatics are the worse. Not interested in United whatsoever, just Ronaldo.

I think most normal United fans can have lost some respect for Ronaldo but still support him and perhaps feel he needs to work and earn what was lost back.

Its in everyone’s benefit that he’s reintegrated and tows the line EtH sets. He’s publicly lost this battle and the manager, club and players have stuck together. If Ronaldo keeps his head down and contributes there should be no issue and those who continue to make one clearly have another agenda.

Watching the TV or is it watching me

It did get better to be fair the 2nd half, but you just knew when he scored all fanboys would be insufferable which has played out here exactly.

For those who questioned it I am glad he scored and hope he does every match he plays because that means Manchester United have a better chance of winning when players score goals, do I still hope he leaves as soon as possible your damn right I do I don't care for the man or the player he's had his time.

Have you been watching him this season? He's not scoring shit
I certainly have, and thats why I said well done for scoring, as I am hoping this leads to him hitting confidence/form and scoring goals like last season.

37 year old with no pre season has poor start to season. Does something stupid and gets punished.

Fans "He's finished, Judas, traitor never done nuffin for United"

His fanboys are bad but so are those who can easily dismiss 7 seasons he has given United, several of which he was our best player and arguably the best in the world.

He has now been punished. So the issue is over and I hope everyone moves forward. A fit, firing Ronaldo is an asset as we saw last season but he has to accept a reduced role. If he does, let's put the past week to bed and back the club, manager and players, which includes Ronaldo

How you going to make a point about a topic being 67 pages and yet you’re deep in the pages contributing to it?
