I like how Mengi looks on the ball. Quick feet, good ball movement. Nothing earth shattering, but nice to see.

These feckers are play acting in a damn friendly.
They are Spanish. I’d imagine if they stand on a piece of Lego their kids leave out at home, they spend 15 minutes rolling about and waving imaginary cards in the air.

Elanga could be our worst promoted youth player ever.

Has Iqbal had a chance in the first team in which he hasn’t impressed yet?

AWB playing with kids and still positionally all over the place, and can't pass to save his life

I would be careful if I was Cadiz’ coach — wouldn’t want to cross ETH, who 100% look like he got some nasty karate moves in him.

Good display from Martial and Iqbal. Garnacho is trying too hard. Williams and AWB haven't done anything to challenge our first choice FBs. Our attacks are dying when they go out to the flanks. There is a lack of intensity in our pressing, which can be attributed to many players lacking match time. Let's see who comes out for the second half.

Why so many negative post for a friendly game?
People on here have forgotten how to just enjoy a game
Good feisty competitive friendly game- enjoying it so far

Good first half, likes how most of our players have looked.

AWB needs to get back in shape.

Garnacho is challenging the D every chance he gets. At first he looked unstoppable, lost a little confidence at the end.

Williams also has a long way to go to game shape.

Great to see Elanga take a lot of responsibility, he is what 19 y/o, but he is far along already.

Martial was a real daddy the first half.

Iqpal is building on what he did in preseason.

Donny if working so hard to get open, but ultimately his greatest ability is to take runs to open up field for other, and be serviceable when he gets the ball.

I already mentioned Mengi, likes how he looks on the ball.

Iqbal impressing again. He uses the ball really well. He should be given more minutes than VDB!

Although I could have sworn he somehow seemed a tad stronger in the pre-season friendlies? He was very good at holding off players in the summer but he's getting brushed off of challenges slightly more today.

Interesting to see Garnacho tried at RW for once, given that someone could be needed there for a couple of games given Antony might be away for a while at the WC.

He's still shown the threatening dribbling, but he has no left foot whatsoever. He doesn't really seem to know what to do on that flank.

He's horrible. Bare in mind there aren't a plethore of youth players that get promoted to the first team.
Borthwick-Jackson, Scott Wooten, Tyler Blackett, Chris Eagles, Brandon Williams, Donald Love.

There’s loads worse than Elanga if you go through the years.

Are we playing as bad as the comments suggest? I just checked the match stats and says we have 60 percent possession and 89 percent passing accuracy (although very few shots)

Just wait and see where Elanga ends up. Some of those put in better performances than he does, he's constantly one of the worst players on the pitch. Awful player.

Not a PL player in my view, time will tell.
