I have to laugh at Romano earlier in the day with his tweets about United’s interest the price being £52m. A few hours later he’s off to Liverpool for £37m.
Antony is incredibly press resistant and allows us to play (and keep) the ball higher up the pitch. For all of Sancho poor form our best period of pushing teams back for most of the game has been with those two on the pitch. Our game v Chelsea fell apart when we took Jadon off. It’s not all about goals and assists, Antony is a winger and not an inside forwardNumbers are irrelevant? In football? I really have heard it all now
How the feck are you annoyed at ending up with Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Antony while missing out on Darwin Nunez

Sancho played well on right wing at Dortmund because he had Hakimi to overlap.Would be smart to get Sancho pushing Anthony for the right forward slot. For me, Sancho played his best football for Dortmund there.
Justifiably. All the papers tomorrow it seems going with the expected narrative of United stunned/pipped/beaten by Klopp and the whiteness of his teeth.
37 plus 10-15 add ons. And as we saw in Nunez transfer; Liverpool's add ons are safe bet.I have to laugh at Romano earlier in the day with his tweets about United’s interest the price being £52m. A few hours later he’s off to Liverpool for £37m.
Compared to the other part of the post that you’ve “conveniently” ignored yes, absolutely.Numbers are irrelevant? In football? I really have heard it all now

The entire striker force is now a quarter of a billion in and it’s still being carried by Salah. Now they’re spent on Gakpo when their midfield is the weakest link.
I wouldn’t be buffing up Liverpools deals as of late. If it’s anything like Diaz and Nunez then expect Gakpo to miss sitter after sitter every game.
Gakpo is a great player and signing for Liverpool no doubt but we need a out and out striker and I couldn’t understand the links to him so I’m also glad he is off the market nowApart from admiring the sleekness of the signing operation, nothing to feel bad about here. It's even good he's out the way so we can focus on what we actually need. And he isn't that. Even for Liverpool it looks a strange signing, unless Diaz is out for a long time.
While I think we colossally over-paid for Antony, I think he'll turn out to be far more suited to the premiership than Gakpo. Antony is a better athlete, grafts harder off the ball and is a good presser and retainer of the ball. I think Gakpo will struggle with the physical intensity of the league and will find it harder to gain the separation needed for his admittedly exquisite delivery from crosses.Err, Diaz was great last season.
Nunez is missing a lot, but he has still scored more than anyone at United in the league this year!
Liverpool are getting a bargain in Gakpo. Time will tell, but i think we will look back and regret the Anthony signing and wish we had bought Gakpo.
Well this is out the blue. I've been out the loop with the news in last few hours and see we're signing him? Didn't think we were interested, thought he was nailed on for you guys.
Nunez isn't a good buy based on his performances in the premier league or world cup.How the feck are you annoyed at ending up with Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Antony while missing out on Darwin Nunez
Scouting might not be the correct word (sorry if I got the word wrong) I’m meaning in way that they do their business, under the radar and usually for great prices
I'll be far more bothered if they get Bellingham in the summer. But I'm not holding my breath for anyone coming to OT in January.
This is what we want to see, where the scouting department is empowered and has the authority to shape the incomings with ten Hag's blueprint in mind. And that's how all well run clubs operate on the football side of the club, where the heads of scouting make the decisions on who should and shouldn't be signed. Which is then acted upon by a prospective DoF/Sporting Director who oversees it all. But the scouting team will ultimately be judged on the players they bring forth. And as far as Gakpo is concerned, it didn't make a lot of sense to sign another left sided forward.@Adnan Interesting insight this mate, one of Court, Mayorga & Wells first January impacts, presumably ETH was in favour of signing if the money was there, with our interest from last summer.
Keeping an eye out for bits like this about our new scouting teams impact making it to journalists like this, wonder if we are eyeing a Felix w/ loan fee or something more leftfield as we do seem to need a quality body to finish well this season.
We spent £250m or something last summer.Murtough caught pants down and will try and PR this into sounding like we're fine with it.
Meanwhile we'll probably try and loan Arnautovic and then not even sign a top number 9 in the summer.
This is what I hate about our club. Chelsea, City and Liverpool are ruthless they want a player they sign them within a few days while us piss around all window and then panic buy for over the asking price to begin withRumour to Liverpool and signed the same day, we always have months of rumours, so fecking annoying.
A striker to replace the two that left.We spent £250m or something last summer.
what fecking more do you lot want?
