Eth is exactly what the club and the players need. Extremely positive about the future if he stays more than 3 years as it might take that long to get into a big club groove.

Another thing I am reminded of, when Jose was the manager, he was pissed with Pogba who used to travel in his car instead of the team bus. If true, it shows how much the players respected the club, manager and each other to pull off stuff like this.

We are lucky to have him. I hope the new owners back him even more than the scum we have now.

It’s a shame the sale isn’t going through now, as we desperately need a striker this window.

Yeah he’s impressing me a lot in different ways. Probably more so off the pitch than on it, his handling of Ronaldo was pretty much perfect in hindsight and little decisions like today going in his favor is really promising. Still feel we haven’t clicked yet as an attacking force and we’re probably still miles off his ultimate vision for us. Likely need at least a couple more signings to help that process along. But of course there are signs there.

If T H had have been here when VG was here and had his transfer money, i am sure we would have won the league by now. Not a lucky manager, a good manager

If United make top 4 it'll be built on the backbone of DDG, Varane, Casemiro and especially Rashford. These are they guys who've been consistently sound all season so far.

fair play to ETH for benching Rashford for missing the team meeting....sets the right precedence amongst the players that no one is above the rules

I wonder if Keane will have anything to say about dropping Rashford in the same.way he did about Ronaldo, one was a couple minutes late, another was a few weeks late.

Honestly, tired of them even talking about Ronaldo in connection with us now.

We’ll have to see what happens with the new owners. You’d imagine the funds would be there right away. Whether there’s anyone of that quality available is debatable.
Yeah I agree but its like I would rather take a gamble at somebody unknown than some "dodgy" quality like Fred or Lindelof who were both sold for 40 mil beceause we cant compete with City or Real at this point

Yeah especially when needed in January. The good thing about players like Lindelof and Fred is that they now have the correct role in the squad. They’ll start 20 games a season and probably be happy with that for a few years if the club is a nice place to be.

In that regard Ten Hag nailed the signings this year in recognising that first 11 quality was needed at centre back and defensive midfield (Antony is still a bit up in the air). If we can do the same thing with a striker and right back in the summer, we’ll be right up there.

Agreed. You can clearly a difference in our patterns of play and individual players have also improved. Night and day with what we have seen under previous management.

A lot of the ‘not quite there as an attacking force’ is to an extent brought out by not having a regular clinical striker. We looked disjointed as an attacking force today….but the reality is we should have been 2 up at half time and no one would have grumbled about our attacking play. Having to do all this without a goal scoring no.9 makes it all so much harder

He needs to hire a sniffer dog. Somewhere , lost for 18 months or so, are a pair of scoring boots owned by Bruno. When United finished 2nd under OGS , Bruno scored 28 times in that season. If he could find those boots again, United would coast into 3rd place this season without needing another striker.

Nearly half of these goals were penalties, so the dog should focus on finding whistles.

In the season Bruno scored 28 goals, 13 of them were penalties. And he can't award penalties to himself.

In terms of non-penalty goals, he scored 0.26 per 90 in the league that season. And while that's more than he is averaging this season (0.14) it's also less than last season (0.29).

In other words taking that 28 goal season at face value is massively misleading.

Just seen that we have the 2nd most clean sheets in the league (7), only behind Newcastle (8). Impressive considering we only got 8 in the WHOLE of last season.

Just the basic motivation of showing up for practice to impress the manager so you'll get to play games was being ruined by circumstances outside of football. The youngsters need to be professionals to get a chance, so it should only follow that the older players have to look over their shoulder if they slack. They need to use that fear of losing their spot as motivation to work harder, not be a dick. Small things like this just puts everyone in the same boat, which is a good thing.

Can't fault ETH. His firm but fair streak is exactly what we needed after the ill discipline of the Solskjaer/Rangnick era.

Not a bad way to finish the year, 4th having played the same amount of games as Tottenham, Liverpool. Only 2 points off 3rd having played a game less and just 4 points off Man City in 2nd.

And all the more impressive when you consider United started the season off dreadfully with defeats to Brighton and Brentford.

Get a stop gap striker to contribute with a few goals, help with the fixture pile up and take the heat off Rashford and Martial and I think we have a team that finishes top 4.

Couldn't be happier with our manager but I just hope the club realizes what a burden it's placing on the manager and the strikers to keep going at this rate.

He’s doing a fantastic job. Think long and hard about where we were a year ago today and what exactly he inherited. In 6 months he’s done a brilliant job. Long may it continue.

Only 4 points behind the Pep-and-Goal-Yeti machine. Finishing the year in top 4. EtH is doing very well in most things he does here.

From the outside he seems a very likeable character, a very good man.

I hope he stays long at the club and wins many titles but unless they bring in at least 6 top quality players I doubt it. Too many passengers in this squad.

We've only conceded 4 goals at home. Best in the league. And (yes its some what fake), we've conceded 7 goals in 13 games this season. Fairly solid.

It really feels like this is the start of something special. There will be bumps on the road but I've full faith he's the right man to get us challenging for top honours again.
