Pressure is different when playing for us. A player like Peirara needs to have the freedom to make mistakes for him to grow and develop and it is something most top sides can’t afford.
If he keeps developing like how he’s played this season, he’ll be the sort of player that we wish the club would take a chance on to make the step up but him being from our academy would probably mean we’ll never take him back.
Yep, pressure is an amazing factor. No one wants to make a mistake, but every player in every club in the world makes mistakes, almost every game. For a young player trying to make his way in the professional game, the first team can seem like a dragons den. I'm not surprised that Pereira performed well in pre seasons, there was no pressure, but back in the EPL it's immense. Some of the stick he got on this forum was disgraceful at times, like much of it now for a number of players.
I wonder if some of the people making these comments have never made a mistake in their lives, almost certainly not, so before you make a comment on here about players x, y and z being s**t, and everything else that goes with it, go look in the mirror and ask yourself, ',is that person I'm looking at been perfect at the job they are paid to do'?
I always thought Pereira had the technical qualities to make it, but he seems to have taken a while to get his decision making, and speed of thought in certain situations up to EPL level.
I wish him well in his career.
