He’s a tall guy so at that height he’s only clawing their eyes out. Technique needs more practise! :D
As has been pointed out in this thread, the names I mentioned are well aged at this stage so really he should be aiming his hands towards the ground!

Is this the first time a club that has received a loaned player has made money off of the deal?

I'd be wary about going for Kane. 29 (30 later in the year)he's at that age were he can just about still command an high fee (+ the usual Daniel Levy Tax) but time isn't on his side

Someone please fill me up.

Are we getting him on loan or on a permanent deal? How are Besiktas apparently getting 2.5M out of this? We are paying this sum of money to Burnley then they’ll give it to Besiktas? How exactly are Burnley benefiting out of this when Weghorst is still their player?

We are getting him on loan. Besiktas have him on loan till the end of the season and have option to buy afterwards. Since they have no reason to cancel his loan whatsoever, we are paying Burnley to pay them a small compensation. Also, Burnley will get a loan fee from us as well. Without his wages, I'd say that we are looking at around 5-6 million in fees.

Since he will be playing for United, his price will (likely) go up as well, or at least he will be on more teams' radars in the summer.

My take is whenever United is involved everyone wants some cash.

But you have to mention his wages will be minimal, so a few million for Besiktas (from United paid via Burnley) to find a replacement is probably the cheapest option.

Burnley still keep the player and would hope after a spell at United his value would go up and therefore receive more money with a possible sale later on.

To Anastasia's I'm outta love.

I'm Woutta love, set me free
And I'll destroy Arsenal and City,
Just show me the ball and I'll score again
'Cause you can't handle me
Said I'm Woutta love, can't you see
Ten Hag, that you gotta set me free? I'm Woutta love, yeah

Didn't know he was gettable. Wasn't the price thrown out there £150M? He's not worth that any more.
His contract expires in summer of 2024 so next summer I’d imagine £50 million is
the max any club will pay.

I think the pic in this tweet reassures me that he is ready to play in England. He's clearly been practicing how to behave when he bumps into the likes of Jordan, Kelly Brook, and all of the other UK page 3 girls that a PL footballer is likely to encounter.
Holy crap is it the 90s again?

Have you seen them recently? All the page three girls of that era have not aged well. At all. Shame when reality hits your boyhood (wet)dreams. :annoyed:
I'd still walk over hot coals to get to Kelly Brook.

Hopefully reminds Maguire and McTominay in training of when he made them bump into each other last season

Won't face City unless we have to play them in either Carabao or FA Cup,could face Arsenal two weeks on Sunday though.

It's funny how people point to his time at Burnley being so important to look at... He was there for half a season, and in his first 4 games he had 1 goal and 2 assists along with a very good performance against United where he kind of bullied us. To me that points to him just struggling to mesh with the squad, considering he got worse as the season went on while having an instant impact initially.

Before that... 3 years in a row of roughly 20 goals+? I genuinely think he will be a very good squad player striker for us and have a good impact. Loads of games to go around, and I think he's a very good profile for what we actually need as an impact player.

You kind of expect a big static lump to bounce the ball off with long balls and crosses, and that's what Burnley pretty much tried to use him as, but some of the runs he tries remind me more of guys like Chicharito and Cavani.

He's a strangely interesting player.

I'm excited to see him involved with players that can create chances for him. Bruno, Eriksen, Casemiro, Rashford and Shaw can all deliver good crosses and passes. Interesting to see will he flourish with clever players around him.

Don't know why SSN keep talking about getting it done before 12 on Friday when there is no chance of that happening whatsoever

How can the loan club hold something like this hostage ? Can't Burnley simply recall him and tell Besiktas to feck off as the Geordies did with Dubravka ?

I know he wasn't a priority, but I am pumped about this signing, I think he'll be a big success and I think United fans will like his character. Hard working, and a bit of shithousery with him.

That’s what I was thinking but there obviously must be more to it. Maybe there was a stipulation that he remained at Besiktas for the full season and couldn’t be recalled early unless they were paid compensation?

I know he's seen as a stop gap for a difficult situation in a difficult market, but still: I can't stop being amazed that Wout fecking Weghorst has people pretty excited on here!

I also feel this is kind of a @KirkDuyt post. Do I owe royalties?

Yeah I know but was just desperate to see us with a proper striker ASAP,however know deep down he shouldn't be rushed
Ye we do need a striker ASAP. Could be very useful late on if we’re chasing a goal.
