I don't know whether feel excited by him comming back or not. I don't know if him being separated from the team was a masterclass from ten Hag giving him the chance so regain fitness and solve his mental issues or if he was left without any other choice since Sancho was in a real dark place.

Hopefully it clicks otherwise I can see us letting him go in the summer.

Not really excited. I still have my doubts. Hope he comes good though. We are basically burning money week after week on those silly wages.

I don't see that happening. They are gonna get in a day of training between now and Reading if he's not on the bench for Forest, he isn't going to be on the bench for Reading. I mean him not being available for Forest means he isn't even ready to come on as a stoppage time substitution, let alone make a 10-15 minute sub appearance.
How do you know all this? The guy has been training, not injured.

Is this guy really on £350k a week? Seems to be the case based on reports however what were the club thinking? I could understand if he was on around 200k like Rashford and Martial but 350!

Probably that much with add one's and extras my old China plate. I hope he isn't on that as a flat rate, unlikely that he is tbh because we all know what the Glazers are like.

Thanks for the replies above fellas. It's bonkers. If he was doing reasonably well then at next contact renewal how much further do you go in terms of increase.

I know the fee was high so wages should be high but the fact is he was still a very young player at the beginning of his career so wages probably should have been much lower.

He isn't in the squad for the match tomorrow. If he isn't ready to be on the bench to be a stoppage time sub would guess it probably means he isn't ready to even get 15 minutes 3 days later.

We ain't selling unless someone comes along with a fee that's the same as or close as what we paid. Also they would need to match or better his current wage which I don't see happening.

But to me it just feels too soon to cut ties. Sure he's been here for going on 2 full seasons now but let's see what he does. It's not like we have a choice anyways.

Anyone think there's a chance he's being retrained as a central player?

May be a reason he's been out for 10 weeks, to learn the tactical side of the game. Long shot though

People acting like he’s been any worse than Antony this season

Look forward to us having another option when he’s back.

Hopefully he comes back in for the Reading game at the weekend. We need as many forwards as possible right now.

Just hoping he uses a goal celebration to let us know what the issue was…point to the head for mental, point to his tummy for weight, point to his heart for fitness, point to his balls for cojones.

Hopefully, but wouldn’t be surprised if that’s deemed too early as well. Sounded like there was some sort of mentality/mental health issue so don’t think we can put expectations on a return date.

14 weeks out, intense fitness training programme.

Not fit enough to be involved. What the hell is going on?

Can’t wait to see him back and firing on all cylinders, very talented lad and with the right help has the potential to be one of the best, I hope this time out has helped and we as fans give him the support he needs rather than jumping on his back as soon as he makes a mistake.

We look at what Ten Hag has done with the likes of Dalot, Rashford, Shaw even AWB but this could be his best yet.

Ruled out for tomorrows game. Hopefully back for reading even if it’s on the bench and give him a cameo in the 2nd halve. Surely it can’t take him all season to get fit.

it best had be… he’s not been involved since October. No other player got the time out that he has. Obviously the circumstances will be different but he’ll have to come back firing… I’m a bit worried that the fans won’t have much patience with him. He has all the attributes to be a top player aswell I just hope we can get it from him… there’s no better manager then ETH to unleash him though.

I hope he turns it around I really do but how? I simply don't see it happening. I think that he will be playing for a mid table team in a year or two., same for Antony.

Please remember my post and shove it into my face when I'm wrong, I will never be more happier to be wrong!
Fair enough mate. I thought the same thing about Sterling at Liverpool and on that occasion I was unhappy to be proven wrong!

I personally think we've seen enough from Sancho at Dortmund to suggest he has the tools to be more than just a mid table player, but I respect that you're just giving your honest opinion. If he starts showing Rashford-like form then I'll be too ecstatic to even contemplate digging out your post.

I vaguely recall sancho having a 6 month period at dortmind where his form massively dropped off and there being questions about his professionalism.

He's probably not match fit. It's the same with most players after a long lay off: they need a few substitute appearances to get match fit. I'd assume Ten Hag doesn't want to throw him into a cup semi final off the bench, so we'll likely see him come on against Reading.

Really hope he comes back and does well. We've got to give him time when he does play to regain his match sharpness. Please give the lad a chance, he could be a massive player for us.

Not sure what to expect from him really but I still think he could offer us more depth centrally.

I'm still very grateful to him for having the composure to finish that chance against Liverpool. Set us on our way for the season as had we lost that game things could've got dark for ten Hag very quickly.

Expectations are going to be too high. He had a couple of half decent games at the start but he's never hit decent form for us so people shouldn't expect he'll do so on his return.

Despite all of this, he's been no worse than our 90m right winger. Only United could sign two wingers for those fees and both underwhelm.

No argument there. I actually think they both suffer from some of the same issues too. Both are great at finishing by coming inside or at the back post when they have the space, yet they struggle against packed defences or tight marking.

With Werghorst up front I think Sancho is the better choice at RW. He's a creative player who we know can find the strikers runs. It's the added dimension we're missing.

A fully fit Sancho would be miles better than that "defensive winger" we have in right wing. I can't wait.

Erik's latest quotes make me think we still won't see him in these next couple of Cup games either

Oh really?

Sancho in his first season had 5 goals 3 assists

Defensive winger has 5 goals in half a season.

Most likely something in the £200k~ region with bonuses etc. -- but important to remember that all of our players took a 25%(?) wage cut when we didn't qualify for the CL this season.

I've seen nothing from Sancho to support this belief. You could argue that it's a wash between the two, but Sancho has been every bit as average as Antony up to this point. At least Antony is out there fighting through it and not taking a mental health break from the team. I'm sure the pressure on Antony has been very difficult for him to deal with as well.
Well, kinda agreed. Sancho at United has been a failure and never looked fit. I was talking about Dortmund Sancho, mates.
