Looking over my shoulder.
If your roof starts leaking, you fix it. Panic or not. Hell, you might even get a sturdier roof.
Silly you. You wait, plan, follow the vision for the house, and you had in that vision planned for a new floor anyways. A little bit of fresh air has not hurt anyone. Fixing the roof. Funny guy.

While we shit on our backroom, I’m sure they have a live shortlist of players who are available at a moments notice, and Sabitzer’s name was top of the shortlist for ‘if Eriksen is out long-term’.

And now we’re exercising that system. Would that make it a panic buy? Maybe more like a contingency plan.
Yeah I'm pretty sure we're actually heading towards being a well-run club now. We should have a constantly updating list of targets for all scenarios, including the manager leaving.

Would be a great signing for Mufc. He would work here much better than in Munich. Fits Ten Haags game 100%.

Honestly could even be an upgrade to Eriksen due to much better Stamina and pressing.

Wait do people honestly think United found out Eriksen was injured this morning and then started sticking pins in a list of midfielders playing in Europe?

This guy will have been on an ongoing list of players who fit a certain profile. I suspect we have this for every position in the squad, such that should we need to, we already know which players we would go for in a situation like this. He may even have been one we were looking to do for the summer and we are just bringing it forward due to the injury.

I stopped listening to anything that comes out Mersons mouth years ago. With him, Dixon and Sourness it would be a difficult decison if you were given one bullet and forced to choose

Couldn't agree more.

The early German deadline surely isn't relevant? Players can still be sold by German clubs they just cant register new players after 6pm.

I actually wanted him before he went to Bayern. He's class, this guy
Yeah, actually surprised at the amount of crap he is getting. Doesn't people watch football? This guy have been on display for a really long time playing for Leipzig and Austria.

That's exactly what people think.

If we can get this one over the line, I’d say it would be to Arnold and Murtough’s credit. You have to be reactionary when one of your starters becomes unavailable for basically the rest of the season.
Yup, you only need to take a look at Pool to see how poorly you can handle an injury situation. They were really scraping the bottom of the barrel when their CBs were injured because they were too cheap to spend a few M on a CB loan.

Everyone knows our depth is terrible, so this deal makes sense to me.

In terms of the player himself, I’d describe him as a bit of a Fred/McTominay hybrid. High energy presser, but more physical than Fred and positionally better than McTominay. Great long shooter and finisher, decent at progressing the ball either with a pass or dribble. Given the constraints above, I don’t think there’s a better player available to us.
Do you think he can act as a Casemiro backup? Or is he being brought in exclusively to replace Eriksen's role in the squad?

I am surprised we're not going for someone like Tielemans though. 6 mo on the contract, I assume we can get him for cheap.

After the way I was feeling hearing Eriksen will be out for months this news has been brilliant.

I'm confident we can very solidly get 3rd/4th from here with this guy on the books. Let's not forget that the manager has a clear profile of the mentality of player he wants in his team. This guy must have that for us to be going for him.

Yeah, I think things are a little better managed than what we fear at times -- below the Glazers. As reported today, we got 75m extra late during the summer after pressure from management. It cost us like 40-50m that we didn't have that money available from the start, but that is not management's fault. The report also had us keeping in touch with Casemiro since June.

Is this actually happening? I’ve not seen a lot of Sabitzer but from what I remember he’s a good player. I didn’t expect anything today so this would be a great surprise.

He was one of those Ralf wanted wasn't he? I'm sure we've scouted him and weighed him up accordingly prior to today.

It is a panic buy or reactive buy as id call it but we've no option. He's better than McTominay as a squad option going forward so all for it.

Most similar in PL for me is a Rodri mould, not as good but that type of player
He's more of a playmaker, similar to Eriksen.
Completely unsimilar to Rodri, also no playmaker type. Hard-working 8 with an eye for goal.

He'd be an okay squad player same as Sabitzer, but Bayern start with Kimmich, Goretzka and also have Musiala. Very few midfielders are breaking in there. Sabitzer and Gravenberch barely get a look in.
Yeah but I’m reading Bayerns fans opinions on here about how shit their midfielder are every week.
I’d say Eriksen could easily play his way in somewhere
What @hobbers said. Not sure which "opinions" you refer to other than we like to rant after games as much as the next fan.

He's a decent midfielder with solid all-round ability and plenty of experience playing pressing football, which is much more than any of us have any right to hope for on deadline day on loan. Good signing, if we can pull it off in time.
This. A transfer that makes sense for all parties involved, and a very good addition for Man United.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this move.

The fact we've known Eriksen can't walk since Saturday now we're scrambling around desperately on the last day is typical United though.

I don't know anything about player. But this seems to make sense for all parties involved. So very possible to happen.

The player is desperate to join us… yet we don’t have pull anymore. You just know when you’re as big as us and we come calling you have to take it.

Apparently we've been working on this since Sunday morning.

What’s he supposed to be good at ? Based on clips he doesn’t seem to excel at any one thing. Work rate and end product? As I can’t see much skill or passing.
