Consitently MOTM in the 4/6-7 games sure... hope that's a joke... why do I even try people will always come up with a BS like that.:wenger: He's our player of the month and one of the best players of the season, yet you will hear he's "just a good squad player" argument all over. He showed many times in big games not just lately or this season, that unlike others he absolutely performs against the likes of CIty, Spurs, Arsenal, second derby game against Leeds, Barcelona and that he's simply a key player.

Very similar to Herrera in that regard and in that he makes all of the dirty work and play quick clever football. Well rounded players will be alway underappreciated by people who never played football, but it's really annoying when it comes to just kneejerk reactions and really biased stuff.

I don't know what you're talking about. He showed his inconsistency in this game alone  terrible at first half, imperial second half.

Sorry, I prefer someone more reliable, need a player that gives me confidence. This guy is a lottery. Sometimes is Fredinho, sometimes he's my uncle Freddy.

To deny this and call it bs is like trying to block the sun with a finger... but anyways if your standard for a United player is this, I respect it.

He delivers. He's essential in this team.

Claims about his low level are also exaggerated, just something people say to keep a conversation. He has poor games but it's not that bad. When he's good, he's really good. And everywhere.

only Fred can go from the worst player on the pitch to the best in the blink of an eye

he's a real enigma, i've given up trying to figure him out
This shit again, he wasn't the worst player on the pitch why do you keep stirring this shit, if anything he was one of our better players in the first half in overall timid/poor performance of the whole team in the first half. Hate this lazy assessement.

We absolutely need a player who never stops fighting and winning the ball in key areas, he even added assists and goals lately quite obviously thanks to playing higher up the pitch to show even the most stupid fans on and off this forum, that he can do that too.

If you look at some of his defensive duels today alone and in every game he's joy to watch because he's really clever and dedicated to the task, pressing forcing errors, blocking at key areas and when on the ball playing with a speed of light and Brazilian quality as well..

He needs two performance thread because each half performance can be unrecognizable. It's like he has a twin that we switch in during half time. Unreal stamina

Not in any moment of the game today he was the worst player on the pitch. Was decent first half and absolutely brilliant in the second

Entire team was horrible in the first half. Casemiro, clearly a superior player, was far worse for me, yet people will single out Fred in the first half for some reason.

Fred didn't stand out for being poor in the first half compared to the relative dross across the pitch from our side aside from probably Lisandro and Varane.

2nd half he was brilliant, and the entire team improved, when we made one substitution. All that tells me is he probably wasn't all that poor or some major issue during the first half.

Fred is a great player to have in the squad. What he needs is some better competition for his position so we don't have to run him full 90s as soon as Eriksen is hurt.

Many of you will come back here to slaughter him next time he's gonna play like a drunkard. His off games are appalling, his good games are fecking awesome. A very frustrating player to be a fan of / simply gauge.

Casemiro is so good that he can just about play-make in the absence of Eriksen, and allow Fred to do the job that he himself does when Eriksen is the playmaker.

Fred will continue to be wank when we will play teams who set up a low block in front of us and let as try and pass through them.
And he'll be An awesome player to have when we face top teams.

He's a big game player. Erik has used him perfectly. Even started scoring goals nowadays.

Some shirts suit certain players. This shirt looks as if it was tailored for Fred.

Shirt never weighed heavy on him. Despite all the criticism, written off, keeps proving people wrong....

Was he really that bad in the first half? Was discussing subs with my son and said that Garnacho for Sancho and Antony for Weghorst would be sensible subs, but neither of us thought Fred was that bad?

So it turns out that top managers can monumentally improve players they have at their disposal heh.

I'd keep him regardless of how many midfielders we have. If we're struggling with no way out and need to win, just throw him out there. The all or nothing kind of player.

The pattern where we praise/ assassinate from game to game is exhausting. It's not a couple of individuals carrying us through this incredible run, it's a collective and every fecker is contributing. I've a pain in my hole defending Fred. Tonight he's King and Sancho and Wout are the assholes but it's 5 minutes since Sancho was scoring against Leicester and we all loved him. Maybe Fred misplaces a few passes against Newcastle and they'll all be back in telling me he's not fit for the shirt. I guarantee you Ten Hag loves him and there's a reason for that. This team will evolve and there'll be changes but everyone who's bursting themselves out there at the moment are part of that journey and deserve our support.
Great post. This team has given us much more than we expected this season. Long may it continue.

Don't underestimate the togetherness of this squad and Fred is an important part of that which contributes to his selection,as well as one hell of an engine.Nice one Fred, got us back in to the game at the right time.

Obsessed. Never mentioned Jose/Ole/Ralf (3 managers he played under).
By your logic we should have just kept McFred in midfield because the manager does it all.

I think having Casemiro, Martinez and Varane might be helping us a bit to, don't you.

Enjoy our progress and stop having a pop at Ole.

My man Fred. Love him. I can put up with him losing the ball now and then if he’s this busy all the time

I am never saying a bad word for this man again. Feck him and his inconsistent show ups, that was also a mis kick but a perfect fecking goal in a perfect fecking time. His attitude and effort deserve that, everything else I will learn to live with.
Holy fecking shit guys, stop the press!!!11 Fred's stamina has finally broken Kostov's resolve!

He's not perfect and I'm sure he's gonna feck up more but join the ride and enjoy it.

I find it odd that people here suggested it's not even possible to compare him to Herrera, like they are in different galaxies. I honestly can't even count on one hand memorable Herrera performances.

As a high pressing midfielder against sides that are trying to play it out from the back he is absolutely lethal at times. Brilliant tonight, 100% has a use in the squad even when he isn't starting every week.
