Thank feck for LVG scaring away Timber, this little monster was Ten Hag's second choice. He's built for PL football.
Honestly it’s quite scary to think how close we came to not signing this lad, unquestionably world class and only just turned 25.Thank feck for LVG scaring away Timber, this little monster was Ten Hag's second choice. He's built for PL football.
Even worse, the alternative option for him was Arsenal...Honestly it’s quite scary to think how close we came to not signing this lad, unquestionably world class and only just turned 25.
Of our new signings Casemiro gets most of the plaudits but Licha is insanely accomplished, and has slotted in so incredibly well.
1:17Its funny how Lewa kept losing the duel to him
"Just drink it, do it fast!!"1:17
Even the way if he gives you water is intense ffs, Garnacho about to choke there
He’s an absolute animal, his hairstyle also resembles a honey badger.1:17

his best performance was vs Liverpool, without a doubt. Kept Bruno in his pocket back then. His performance against Kane earlier in the season was even better than against Lewa I would argue.
Hahah like force feeding someone. I can imagine him being banned from feeding his own kids in future."Just drink it, do it fast!!"
An embarrassment to anybody that cares for him, you know you got it bad when Burley is praising the same playerYou never seen a bigger salty scouse clown than Stevie Nicol (Especially from 05:40)
I also agree with you that we can trust Ten Hag's judgement on players, and I don't want to derail the thread but I really hope that our scouts can find good players that suit Ten Hag, we need Ten Hag to be fully focused in developing the squad technically and tactically and help the team win games and win trophies.I’d let ETH make the call on every transfer throughout his whole reign at Utd. I trust his judgement on a player than any recruitment specialist!

not that far thoughBetter be Pirlo with the ball at that price per inch.
yeah he didFor the money we paid.... Did he really improve our defence? I know it's just 1 game...
yeahThis is genuinely one of the worst signings ever
I don’t think people would accept 130M for Lisandro nowadaysNothing new. This club is addicted to spend ton of money on shit players. We blow out our budget every season on godawful signings instead of spreading it on some good players.
50m for this. Him and Maguire combined cost 130m.
I guess he didWhere has his so called aggressiveness gone? Early days, but gets outmuscled/bullied, not particularly fast, useless at defensive corners...
He might turn it around, but wouldn't surprise med if we end up regretting not going for Pau Torres.
No.Have we ever had a CB more enjoyable to watch play? Vidic defensively was very similar but Martinez is also brilliant on the ball to add to it as well.
Embarrassing. People are way too quick to shit on players if they don't put in a Ballon D'or-worthy performance on their debut.not that far though

Orrrrrrrrr imagine what a great pairing they would be. They sure were at Ajax.Thank feck for LVG scaring away Timber, this little monster was Ten Hag's second choice. He's built for PL football.
Id say he can’t be considered in a conversation with BaresI and Cannavaro. There aren’t many people who would genuinely believe that. What a stupid reply using europa and league position as an example of why he can’t be considered great. I’ll say it now, because I can see the way he’s playing consistently every week against the best teams / strikers in Europe. He’s phenomenal and puts the best in his back pocket.
It’s not a stretch to compare him with the likes of Baresi or cannavaro. His intelligence and reading is just unreal plus he can pass like Scholesy. Love him to bits and how he engages with the fans after the matches.
I'm guessing that's after the first or second games? I just looked up my first several posts about him in this thread. After the Brighton game:not that far though

And one of my first posts after the Brentford game (in response to a tweet video of his aerial challenges):
Obviously this doesn't cover the full game and the runs/dribbling Welbeck made but I'm really baffled by the 'he got bullied' or 'he looked weak/slow' comments.
Could he have been more defensively sharper in terms of covering runs etc yes but I don't remember much of the game where I thought 'he did a Lindelof there' (i.e weak and passive).
Are people just confounding how sh|t we were and then directly tying it as a criticism of the player's individual performance?
His passing was really good considering the crap movement and options in front of him and he actually got involved in a couple of chances in their box too. With the tweet above mentioning his recoveries, it does align with my judgement of his game in that he was quite involved. Wasn't MOTM single handedly keeping them at bay amazing type of stuff but looks a good player with good reading of the game. Ultimately though, like everyone else he is a system player.
Really astounded by the hammering of criticism tbh.
Then pretty much every post after that game praising him deservedly and reaffirming that I saw a player with a some very good attributes. Thanks for posting this. It was exactly my impression of his game against Brentford also.
People already made their minds up about how he's weak, short and loses every aerial ball when it's actually more closer to the opposite.
The fact the rest of his teammates are so shit to reacting to first, second and third balls is way more alarming. He's not been fantastic but the hyperbole making it out like he's a lower league player is truly outstanding from our fanbase.
Unfortunately, he's likely to be made a scapegoat because narratives.

I'd keep Lindelof for a little bit of experience thoughI remember when he signed ETH said he'll become a fan favourite and he already has. The crowd roars every time he wins the ball.
I wonder how quick he is. He's certainly quick over 5 or 10 yards. And the first 5 yards are in his head.
At United we need defenders who defend one on one and at a high line. That's why Maguire was such a bad signing.
Martinez is a good age as well. Hopefully he can stay injury free and is a mainstay for 6 or 7 years.
I think I'd sell all the other center backs in the squad like Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly and buy young promising ones to develop
Even though I love Martinez, there was something special about watching Jaap Stam. Just knowing he had the feeling of invincibility to him and the look of despair and defeat on any strikers face who came up against him. He was a joy to watch and made a beautiful art of defending.Have we ever had a CB more enjoyable to watch play? Vidic defensively was very similar but Martinez is also brilliant on the ball to add to it as well.
He has top level acceleration, matched with top level agility. I swear that is more terrifying for defenders 1 v 1 rather than your regular big center backs.I remember when he signed ETH said he'll become a fan favourite and he already has. The crowd roars every time he wins the ball.

yeah I’d say he’s the closest thing we’ve had to Roy Keane.I was too young to watch Roy Keane. Now I understand what it must have been like having him on the pitch.
